This is going to be a long review so bear with me. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma and Chicken Shashlik dinner plates on February 27, 2021 at 5:25 pm. After waiting the 30 minutes for the food to be prepared, I walked inside the restaurant to pick up the ordered items. The employee handling checkouts (his name is Dex and he is the protagonist of this review) told me it would be a bit of a wait for his chef to pack the food. While I was waiting, this employee asked me if I want to start a job as a waitress at the Raging Olives. I was a little (actually very) confused by this random question to his customer. I informed him that I already am employed, thank you very much. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, my friend and I picked up the food and decided to eat in the car. As soon as we opened the food containers, the food evidently had a pungent unpleasant smell. Hesitantly, we had one small morsel of food and as soon as we took a bite, we both quickly and independently came to the conclusion that the food was awful and did not even come close to resembling any Mediterranean flavours. I immediately called the restaurant to relay my utter disappointment with the quality of the food and the employee informed me that they’d be able to issue a refund to make up for the dissatisfaction. When I arrived again at the restaurant, the employee then informed me that he can only offer half of the price that I paid ($30 out of a $60 bill). Wait.. so you’re telling me that I just paid $30 for basically tasting subpar food? The employee then goes on to say that the food is useless to the restaurant due to COVID-19 restricting him from re-selling the food. I am outraged - a restaurant should not be re-selling food no matter what the circumstance, in times of a global pandemic or not. At this point, I’m absolutely mortified with the thought that the food that was provided to me may have possibly been returned from another customer. Anyway, I reluctantly agreed to receiving half the refund, seeing as I had no other option, and proceeded to step out of the restaurant with the returned cash and the food. The employee then stops me and pushfully grabs the food. He told me that I can either take the refund or the food. Clearly, this employee lacks any customer service skills - quite evident through his inconsistency. Initially, he offers a full refund, which quickly turns to half, which quickly turns into a bargain between the refund or the food. He told me to decide and “just go”. I am at a loss of words at this employee’s disrespect. I requested to speak to the Manager or Owner of the restaurant but apparently they weren’t available. I took my food, stormed out and threw it in the garbage. There’s no way I was going to eat food that had even the mere possibility to have been served and returned by another customer. I have filed a complaint with the Halton Region Health Department and they informed me that they’ve received several complaints from this restaurant recently (not to my surprise at all). It seems that the positive reviews that you’re seeing below seem to be from more than two years ago. The restaurant was sold by the original owner in mid-2019 based on a quick Instagram search. This is not only evident in the quality of the food but also the overall ambience of the restaurant. What was once a clean and maintained restaurant is now a gloomy and grimy dining area where you would not want to spend your weekend evening with your loved ones. Clearly the new management has more than failed to uphold the same reputation that the previous owner had worked hard to foster. My piece of advice to the management overseeing the operations at this restaurant, if you want to hire a waitress that will actually stick around and if you want to attract customers, you have to at the very least reconsider your employment with this employee that I had an unfortunate encounter with on my Saturday evening. He is rude and leaves customers with a taste worse than burnt food.

DO NOT go to this restaurant. My family and I got terrible terrible food poisoning from the chicken dishes. Horrible experience and definitely don’t recommend unless you want to get extremely sick.

Phenomenal service: attentive, thoughtful, and engaging. Phenomenal food! Our two kids ate up the kabobs and we enjoyed the vegetarian and chicken dishes. I'm only sorry we don't live closer so we can return more often.

This place definitely deserves a review. The food, service and location was fabulous. I ordered the chicken specialty dinner with greek salad and home fries from the first bite you'll be able to know the food was made with love and care. Large portions, not greasy and HOT! Upon arriving at the table. I definitely recommend trying
