Wonderful ambiance and comfortable seating ng. Great food selection and beautifully presented/plated. Staff were excellent and truly attentive and understanding. One of our favourite restaurants.

Server (Olivia?) was lovely. Reservations were for noon and we were seated promptly. The restaurant was empty. Food was good and presentation was wonderful. I would like to return to try more of the menu.

As always a lovely little bistro to dine in. Food alway delicious and service usually excellent. Unfortunately last night was an exception. We were celebrating a birthday and were attended to promptly by wait staff. Our drink order was taken and returned in a timely manner and at that time our dinner orders were taken. Our dinner orders took a very long time to arrive. Not their usual situation and by that time a refill on my wine was requested. That did not happen until we could catch the servers attention. I'm not sure if staffing was the problem or something in the kitchen but no explanation was given. We did leave a little disappointed with one of our favourite dining spots.

West Plains Bistro has been one of our favourite dining spots in Burlington offering great food & service. They are now open Mondays for lunch offering more opportunities for fine dining at a reasonable cost.

Since this has changed hands I have noticed a decline in the quality of the food. The acorn squash on my last visit was undercooked and the combination of ingredients was off. This time I tried a “not on the menu” grilled cheese with bacon. Terrible. Bread was hardly grilled, bacon and cheese not a winning combination. Frites were awful. Considering we were the first customers of the day I expected fresher and better quality of ingredients. Sadly that will likely be my last trip....

It was just a fabulous experience. We were a group of 8 ladies. We thoroughly relished the food and ambience and service all were a 20. Can't wait to go back again.

"Plains Rd Bistro is a hidden gem on the local food scene! The mussels are fresh and flavourful, the main course of squash is beautifully prepared and comforting, and the in-house-made desserts are a must-try. Cozy vibe and top-notch service make it a go-to spot!

First time to West Plains Bistro. Great food, attentive service. Nice background music, but quiet enough to have a good conversation with your dinner companions. Very comfortable ambiance.

I came with 4 other people, first time for them and one of many for myself. The food, service and outdoor dining was great and everyone loved the food. Your restaurant always gets positive feedback from those I bring and will continue to suggest this place as one of my favourites.

Wonderful meal and service! Fantastic value for the high quality dishes. My only disappointment is the summer menu doesn't include their famous roasted Brussel sprouts

We went to the restaurant yesterday. The atmosphere was lovely and calm. The host was sooo sweet, funny, and friendly! I asked him if he could speak to me in French—since I’m learning the language and wanted to practice—and he agreed 😂 His name is David, and honestly, the restaurant is lucky to have someone with his charisma.

I ordered three dishes:
• French onion soup: 4/10
• Pasta of the day (it was pasta with meat, vegetables, and a spicy sauce): 8/10
• Fish and chips: 10/10

Wonderful food, great service & reasonable prices. Good variety of dishes. I had one of the evening specials (fish) & it was prepared perfectly. Would definitely pick this restaurant for another dinner with friends.

Make reservations and there is a reason....it's packed at lunch and dinner because of the a) food b) staff c) ambiance d) food...yeah it gets 2 mentions. Our group of 4 chose West Plains for lunch, and thankfully our oganizer made reservations. 3 of us had the pasta special...omg...mushroom stuff ravioli in a brown butter sauce with sun dried tomatoes, roasted nut medley adorned with crispy prosciutto. Taste buds didn't know what was happening, but it was amazing. Staff are so attentive and kind, and we had real napkins. Now I did remove one star from food, not because of the taste but I feel portion size for price did not match. One option could be to offer a lunch size portion price. I rarely finish any meal and always head home with a snack size portion for the next day. I didn't have any difficulty with my lunch. Now some might say, it was that good and I would agree but I had heard that portions were on the small size. With the price of everything today, we recognize that prices in restaurants would be up, but I belive that is was a pasta dish, 4 or 5 more raviolis would have matched the cost. Will I go again, absolutely. We are in the process of deciding which place to celebrate some significant birthdays in June. My vote is for West Plains.
