Charming Bistro, with warm atmosphere, great food and friendly service. I had the pasta special of the day, Mushroom Ravioli. It was fabulous. Rich puréed mushroom sauce with chorizo and delicious mushroom filled ravioli. Waldorf salad looked (and tasted) great, and fabulous dessert menu. Nice wine list. Reservations recommended as it’s busy - no wonder!

Several times a year we enjoy a gathering here. It has changed hands recently, however, the food, service and atmosphere were really good. A great small gem in the heart of Aldershot!Dietary restrictions: Option for Gluten intolerance

The food was good at West Plains bistro, but the cost related to value was poor. It was very expensive, and they charge extra for simple add-ons. we likely will not be eating their very often due to the high cost.

First time at this bistro. Will definitely return. The food was great, the service very good, and a very nice ambience. The venue is nicely appointed and the noise level was minimal.

Quaint little bistro with lots of character. Came here for lunch and weren't disappointed.Food was delicious and very obviously made fresh. Burger was juicy and the patty was cooked perfectly.Another of patrons here were obviously regulars which in my opinion is a good indicator of a quality bistro. Also had a unique menu, with twists on regular diner fare.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we got inside. The vibe was warm and inviting with various seating options (table, booths and tall tops). We had an excellent server who made our evening particularly enjoyable, she was witty, charming and accommodating, not often found these days. We shared 4 appetizers and 2 entrees amount 4 people and loved every one of them. We particularly loved the escargots app and the schnitzel entree, done to perfection! Thank you for a great evening! Top note chef! The owners also stopped by to see if all was well....it sure was! We will definitely recommend and return West Plains Bistro.

My friend and I enjoyed a lovely, peaceful lunch. Although the restaurant was full, it was not loud or crowded. The food was delicious as usual. I had been concerned since there are different owners, but it was perfect. I had the Waldorf salad, which I always enjoy there.

Lunch with a friend for her birthday. Our first time @ the Bistro. Food was fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. Presentation was delightful. Would definitely order the salmon encrusted, chicken Waldorf salad again. The fries were yummy!! Vive le Plains West Bistro!

As always, a wonderful experience. The beet and ginger soup is the best soup I have ever tasted! Under new ownership after many many years, West Side Bistro offers old favourites as well as interesting and delicious specials. Best of all, it now opens Sundays! The new chef is magnificent while the excellent staff has mostly stayed on. Margaret

It has always been one of my go to places to eat and recommend to friends and family. I may decide to give it a rest for awhile and let the new management settle in Our waiter was terrific. Always available and knowledgeable about the menu. The prices have gone way up since my last visit. I had the fish and chips which was fine but a bit pricey for haddock. My sister in law had chicken pot pie of which she left at least half. The gravy was like wallpaper paste and real lu no chicken taste. Our waiter did give me a small piece of pie which I took home. I was very disappointed but may give it another chance in the future. Thank you for your attention Elken

Not really outstanding food. Some of the dishes were cold. The taste is not bad but you can easily cook them yourselves. You can get a better value for the price in other restaurants. I was not convinced and I will not come

We had dinner here last week and were so surprised and disappointed by the changed ambience. The tablescape was bare — no flowers, no candle, nothing but two cheap paper placemats. That, in combination with the sixties Motown blasting from the sound system made it feel like a breakfast diner. There were no little berries in the water glass, the wine was poured behind the bar and plunked down on the table rather than brought in a little carafe and poured directly. We’ve had outstanding service here before but this time it was on par with what you’d get at a Turtle Jack’s. Which is fine, but when you’re paying $40+ for each entree, plus appetizers and wine, you expect a more refined level of service and presentation. We’ve loved this place and been here for many a special meal — hopefully it gets its vibe back soon.

Our first return visit since ownership change found the food/service has remained consistent with previous experience that has made West Plains Bistro one of our Burlington go-to dining spots. Additionally, the refreshment of the decor is an added bonus to this neighbourhood gem.
