It’s calm and quiet here today and the person who attended to me was warm. Had a nice experience enjoying the Small Oreo Blizzard. Sorry I have the empty cup to show because it was too delicious to remember to take a picture beforehand. The store appears to be clean and well maintained.

I ordered a very simple blizzard.
It actually had no flavor. It did not even taste like the dairy queen soft serve and wasn't mixed together. It was already melting when it was served to me. Not impressed.. I get the same blizzard at every Dairy Queen.
They informed me that they don't make this kind. So I had to pay an extra two dollars for the one topping. When it actually was one of their blizzards in the past. I will not stop at the carleton place dairy queen again. Lesson learned

I rarely eat out, but I decided to treat myself after a long day, and ordered the chicken strip basket in the drive through because I was travelling with a sleeping baby, and needed to get home quickly for his next feeding. I do not live in Carleton place and I rarely drive through it.

When I opened my meal 10-15 minutes later, I discovered that the chicken strips were dried out, and must have been deep fried several times throughout the day. The colour was dark brown instead of the golden brown they usually are. They were also tiny compared to the strips I’ve received in the past when I have ordered this meal.

I’m not super picky when it comes to fast food quality, but this chicken was inedible. I tried a bite of each strip hoping that some of it would be edible, since I was extremely hungry, but everything was nearly impossible to chew through let alone eat.

I called the Dairy Queen about a week and a half later (sort of busy with a baby) to let them know what happened and ask for a refund. I figured an employee was too lazy to make fresh chicken that day, and that a manager would be happy to know that they had employees serving bad quality food occasionally, so they could remedy that behaviour.

Boy was I wrong. I got no apology, and no refund. I was told that they don’t do refunds at all, and that I should have returned to exchange the food.

I told them that I ordered it in the drive thru and was long gone before I realized how bad the food was. Plus having a sleeping baby in the car who was due for a feed soon meant that turning around was not an option.

They did not care at all, and did not offer anything to try to make up for my bad experience. They basically said it was my fault because I should have come back to get new food if I didn’t like the food I received.

Pictures included for proof. I did eat the fries because I was starving, hence the lack of fries in the photos.

I went into this DQ and went to use the bathroom and was surrounded by a group of flies, a dirty sink and a half plunger laying on the ground
I used to go to this location many times but right now it’s gone so downhill
I do not think I will ever go there again

Quite pricey now for the size of the portions, the customer service and quality has gone way downhill recently. Ice cream tastes thick, oily and unappetizing (not like other DQs). Items sometimes come missing condiments and when you ask for them they are added but in incredibly small amounts (e.g., tablespoon of whipped cream on a blizzard instead of covered, ...). Quite disappointing given how iconic DQ used to be and how great this particular DQ has been up until now. Without significant changes I would not recommend visiting.

Tried sitting outside at 2035. All chairs locked up! Hmm how do we sit and enjoy our food if the chairs are locked up??

Got a blizzard, it came out pretty fast. But it was already half melted.

Hate to complain but was told the ice cream machine needed to be restarted and come back in 10 minutes. Waited 20 and came back and they said they’re no longer serving ice cream? Isn’t this an ice cream place? At the very least put a sign on the menu…

The food was terrible, the drink was warm burger and fries were not. Bun was a little stale. Service was slow and ordering was a terrible experience. Very unfortunate because I used to like DQs burgers n fries. 😢

New management prices are really high and they have a policy against not having a bun on your hamburger…. They refuse to make a hamburger without a bun that seems like an opinion about people who eat gluten-free - Addendum they have picked up their game, now can have no bun.
