I've been coming to this restaurant for 25 years and it use to be one of my favorites. I ordered take out and ate it for lunch the next day- bit into something hard and there was a clump of 10 staples in my food. The staff were nice over the phone but I reached out 3 times in 3 weeks to have the owners reach out to me and they never did. Although I only hurt myself a bit and it could have been much worse. It's been a few months and I still haven't heard a word from the owners. I refuse to eat there after this experience that could have easily been dealt with if they followed up.

My husband and I just finished a great breakfast at The gourmet restaurant in Carleton place. The service was quick. The food was hot and very tasty and the coffee kept getting filled up without us even asking. Very friendly atmosphere and was like a step back in time. Very enjoyable.

Those who know...know what a pain I can be when it comes to food! It's hard to get thrilled about breakfast at a diner.....that is until now. Without doubt Tony prepared the best poached eggs and bacon and onion grilled homefries EVER! Congratulations no small feat in my world.

Food is usually always great. Never leave hungry. The servers are very pleasant and if errors are made they are very quick to offer a fix. Prices are higher but base on portions extremely fair. Not to say that errors are not made, but I know this place is always up to fixing things. The staff are very personable and love starting conversations with customers even if management occasionally gets upset about it. Some customers in every industry can be absolutely miserable and only out to point out the faults of every server, even making half truths. People need to be more positive and understand servers and cooks are human and make some mistakes, but if the offer to fix is presented than obviously they assume responsibility. I will keep coming back. Stay positive folks. CJ
