It's so easy to update your Google hours. And when you arrive to a sign outside that says, close Sunday Monday, it's a bit ridiculous.
Nestled in the heart of Carleton Place, The Good Food Company is a delightful café that offers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you step in, the cozy and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a European bistro, sets the stage for a memorable meal.
The flat white here is a standout—crafted with fair-trade espresso, it’s rich, velvety, and perfectly balanced. Complementing the coffee is a menu filled with fresh, made-to-order dishes that cater to various tastes. Whether you’re indulging in their savory scones, hearty breakfast sandwiches, or delectable crepes, each item is prepared with care and attention to detail.
What truly elevates the experience is the warm and friendly staff. Their genuine hospitality makes you feel right at home, adding a personal touch that enhances every visit. It’s no surprise that many patrons, including those from Ottawa, make it a point to return regularly, drawn by the consistent quality and welcoming environment.
For anyone seeking a charming spot with excellent food, outstanding coffee, and a cozy ambiance, The Good Food Company is a must-visit destination in Carleton Place.
Their frozen soups are equally delicious!
Highly recommend!
We heard about this place on Facebook, we loved the breakfast and the food store that offered. The menu was different and enjoyable. I ordered the avocado toast. YUM!
The name says it all, except the delicious coffee and incredible service! So glad we stopped by on our travel from Toronto to Ottawa.
If you’re in the area. Stop here. The avocado toast is literally amazing. I’ve had it five times in two weeks. It’s so cozy and welcoming. You kind of feel like you’re in a hallmark movie. All the salads and baked goods are wonderful and they also sell many local cheese, charcuterie and wines!
Stopped here for a drink and a snack. The Egg Nog Latte was good as we're the scones. If we visit Carleton Place again we will return.

Absolutely delicious and the staff are super friendly. They even accommodated my very customized order. If you go, I highly suggest getting a grilled cheese and asking them to add chicken. they only had pesto chicken and it made my sandwich all the more delicious. It’s so nice to find home-cooked food instead of having to go to a retail chain for your lunch.

We have eaten and purchased products at this business for years. We have never, I really mean never been disappointed. Keep up the great service and food. Best wishes, Doug.
I was last here pre-covid and everything has gone downhill. There is no service to table, order and they bring it to you, the ambience once cute and charming is stale and sterile. Prices are over inflated for quality and taste. My potato and leek cup of soup was plain, with very little anything and for $6.50 campbells store bought is better than this “made from scratch”. The chipotle bacon grilled cheese had no chipotle taste, the cheddar was thin and limited. The sourdough bread was thin and did not seem homemade as in the past. The bacon was sparse, not flavourful and under cooked. Seemed store bought as well. Then the whole sandwich was pressed not grilled (so a misnomer to start?). Overall I recommend not going here at all which is sad. It was once a great place for homemade deliciousness.
