Zak's Diner Carleton Place

Staff are fantastic and the food is great.

Arrived at Zak’ around 1:30 today and stood waiting to be seated for 5-10 minutes. The wait was long enough for my wife to change glasses, remove coat and go/return from the restroom. I am 72 years old and have difficulty standing due to a sports injury.

Several waitresses saw me standing there and no one came to seat us. We left the restaurant and visited another family restaurant that provided excellent service.

Your service, today, was inexcusable.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times and generally found the service and food to be very good. Today, we drove from Arnprior to Carleton Place with the sole purpose of having breakfast at Zak’s. We were very disappointed with the service today.

Came in and got the chicken quesadilla and I got the great Canadian breakfast , now let me tell you this dam amazing breakfast which I had and was still hot after a 30 min drive home!!! The sausages were outstanding. The smoky bacon was actually smoky tasting bacon and don’t even get me started on those delicious home fries oh my goodness I do apologize for the Big post. I’m just a big food addict and I love food so this place deserves a well written review

The owner of the Restaurant is a legend And has a great sense of humor, which is hard to find now days anymore !!!! The milkshakes were fantastic and out of this world!!!.

The place looks understaffed.

Ordered 5 Burger meals. All of them were burned, dry and too salty.

I was already going to be putting a great Google review when I got home for the great food, service and server..... but even more now. The delightful server today at about 11:30 am made it extra great. She was so lovely throughout but at the end, as I was driving away (25 minutes from home) she ran out to me to give me my cell phone that I'd forgotten in the restaurant. She did not have to do that but went out of her way. I really really appreciated that. Pls treat her well - she's exceptional.
The chicken tenders and poutine was exactly what we felt like. It did not disappoint. :0)

The team are all so wonderful here. We come every week or two (kids eat free on weeknights is just so handy!) and are consistently wowed by the service. Everyone is so friendly and attentive. Food is delicious. Fantastic vegetarian options. I'd certainly recommend!

We’ve been going to Zak’s diner in Carleton Place for years. Now that our child is a toddler, we find it difficult to go out to restaurants.
Our server sat us next to the play kitchen/house after we asked for that spot. It wasn’t even in her section! Food was tasty. Kiddo was entertained.

All the front of house staff werre super friendly! The kitchen got our order perfect, and I always have lots of add-ons and mods with my breakfast! Food was great! For sure going back!

Have had their dinner menu a few times before and also bang on! Great bartender everytime and a killer Pina colada! I recommend the goat cheese chicken sandwich!
