We popped in here on our way home and were so pleasantly surprised. Yes it’s a pub food restaurant but the food was very tasty. I had a chicken club which had a huge chicken breast and lots of bacon. I couldn’t finish all of the chicken and had enough to take home for a small sandwich the next day. They do not charge extra for onion rings as a side instead of fries and they were really good too. My husband had wings which were prepared perfectly to his fussy request. The server was very friendly and the food came out hot and fresh.

We love going to Castle John's in Cobourg. Vaishali is the best server and she always has our drinks ready as soon as we get there. Always great food and fantastic service.

Well we went there because of reviews and we must have been in an alternate universe. It just didn’t smell right and we were trying to identify the odour while taking a seat. We decided to stay however due to the good reviews and order the daily specials. Wings were dry with no dipping sauce. Appetizer of cauliflower bites was from a box. Lobster dip had no lobster except for the fishy smell. Uugh. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. The upside was cold beer and a very good server. No return visit.

I expected more. It was dark and more like a corner pub. The sports were blaring taking over the room. Food was mediocre and as everything is more expensive these days, the dining room fare was more than what you would like to spend for what you receive. The waitstaff didn’t really have it all together. I mean, how long should it take to get a knife.
Ordered the lobster and steak meal. The steak was cooked to well no flavor tho and my lobster tail was raw the waitress only charged me for the steak in total 7.5 food could have been better
A good place to eat. The interior is starting to show its age.

Great service by a single waitress that waited on our table of 10 guest. She did amazing nothing was wrong or miss ordered. The food was amazing. Loved the lobster dip! Give that a 10 outta 10 and wing were done just the way I like em. Nice and crispy. 10 outta 10 for sure. Highly recommend this place for the first visit
