We love shopping here whenever we drive by on the 401!
I moved to Cobourg a week ago and my sister and I went to George & Orange for dinner on Saturday night. It’s just a short stroll from my home and I was looking forward to making it my local.
The food and drinks were absolutely wonderful. As a (former) Toronto food snob, I was so impressed. Sadly, they will be closing at the end of September and I’m crushed about it. Please someone - buy and save this local gem! I’ll do your social promotion for free!
We got an extra order of chorizo and potato tacos (the pic) for lunch the next day. They were so good - as were the shrimp and flatbread. And that whiskey cocktail with fresh basil - love love love.
Save George & Orange! Please!

A must visit place to go for dinner and drinks in Cobourg. The cocktail menu is incredible
The cocktail selection is great, and the food menu seems to change frequently. There are many sharable options, which are perfect if you're mainly there for drinks. Just be aware that the portions are small.
The restaurant is very small, with only a few indoor and patio tables, plus a small bar area. I highly recommend making a reservation. They seem to have air conditioning, but it felt quite hot and humid inside.
This spot is best for a small group of 2-4 adults who want to try their cocktails. It's not the best choice for families with kids.

Food was only ok. For somewhere that says its about sharables the food was mostly sandwiches and burgers. Drinks were the real winner here- very delicious. Staff asked us to move tables halfway through dinner from a table in the shade to one in full sun, even though it was very hot and my companion was very pregnant. When we politely declined it was not super well received and we felt on edge for rest of meal.
This spot is a gem in the town of Cobourg. Inviting atmosphere, just off the busy main street in a delightfully quirky corner. The owner and staff are friendly, the menu interesting but not overwhelming and the food is consistently delicious. We treasure this unique experience.
Delicious food, creative cocktails, great atmosphere, friendly staff - definitely worth a visit!
I chose to eat here for my birthday because of the reviews of the Mac and cheese. Currently there is no Mac on the menu. Looks like it changes very regularly. I had the chorizo and potato tacos- absolutely incredible, I wish I could’ve eaten it twice! They give you the ingredients in a bowl and you make them as you like. Big portions too, 6 tacos! My bf had “the burger right now” as it changes every week. He loved it as well! It is a la carte for sides, burger comes by itself unless you want to add fries. It is a very small place, I recommend you make a reservation. There is AC but it doesn’t feel like there is (especially during a heat wave). If I’m ever in town visiting I will definitely come here again when the weather is cooler.

It's a gem! The people the food the entire experience. If you haven't been, you're definitely missing something special.
George & Orange is a quaint space that is such a cute place to eat! The cocktail my husband had was delicious. We started with the mussels, which were fresh and delicious, followed by the beef carpaccio and a spicy chicken burger — all were excellent choices!
For dessert I had the gluten-free crème brûlée, which was the best I’ve ever had! The service was exceptional, making our visit even more enjoyable. Had a great time in a great atmosphere where there was music that was at a perfect level. Highly recommend!
