Came in for lunch. Ordered a bowl of soup which was just ok tasting and not very hot. I had way better at Jacks Barrel last week and Millstone Bakery this week for half the price and it included bread. The soup at Prep didn’t come with crackers or any bread of any sort. Given the bowl of soup was $10 I would expect something to go with it, even a pack of crackers. Don’t forget You have competition and they are close by.

Recently opened/slightly remodelled cafe (from the former Lallies & Dutch). Similar format with minor deviations. Coffee products adequately crafted to order, however, many drink personalization options not offered. To that end, I would conclude that this outlet is not a true coffee connoisseurs cafe.
The food, previously prepared, is favourable, although quite inconsistent. I've have the Jerk Chicken Wrap three times & it wasn't the same across the tastings. Specifically, on one try, it was very over-spiced with tumeric. Further, given that the food is not freshly made-to-order, it is considerably overpriced. The price point is very much akin to a full-service fresh sit-down restaurant.
This location includes free wifi which is definitely apparent due to several tables occupied with people on their laptops. The bathrooms are spotless & bright.
Certainly this operation is a welcome addition to Cobourg's downtown, but there already is a very heavy abundance of coffee/cafe shops.

We had a great experience working with Prep for catering for a party with about 60 guests. We were very impressed with Hayden, who helped us throughout the whole process. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and professional, and made the entire process easy for us. Anytime we had a question we received a quick and detailed response. We ordered the barbecue buffet and some grazing boards from the catering menu, and the food was delicious. They were also very helpful with figuring out options for different dietary restrictions. Everything exceeded our expectations :) I would highly recommend Prep if you need catering for an event!!
Vegetarian options: We had a few vegan guests and Prep made sure there were options for them.

Yesterday was the best day of our lives because of Zak & the Prep Food Co. catering team. We got so many compliments about every aspect from cocktail hour to the dinner - everything was above and beyond.

I have recently relocated to Cobourg and was VERY happy when I discovered this hidden little gem within walking distance to where I am temporarily staying!! Being plant based it is sometimes hard to find pre-made food that is not only nutritious but also delicious....but no concerns here!! The Prep Food Company hits both markers for me and besides the yummy, great sized servings of fresh food, the prices are very reasonable for the quality and convenience and the genuinely friendly staff and cute atmosphere are the cherry on top for me!! My 3 year old son LOVES the vegan cookies and Mediterranean wrap and they have become a weekly treat for us both?
Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian/vegan options including desserts
Dietary restrictions: Many gluten/dairy/egg/soy free options
Went to my local Foodland and bought the Tomato Basil Bocconcini Penne and cooked it for dinner last night. Went back today and bought out the rest. Two thumbs up, 10/10, 5 Star, a must have!!!!!!

If you are ever looking for someone to cater your wedding or gathering, look no further then Prep Food! We had the fancy feist catered dinner and it was beyond compare, the sauces for the chicken and filet were amazing. All of the guests commented on how it was the best food they ever had at a wedding. Not only was the food good, the staff especially Zak, were extremely helpful. Leading up the event Zak helped me think about all the details a wedding consists of. Having a personal touch really made me feel ready when the day arrived. We could not have asked for a better experience. Thank you Zak and the team for creating a memorable experience for us!

The Food Prep Co. is such an incredible company to work with! I hosted a bachelorette party in the area and the Food Prep Co. catered all of our meals for the weekend. They were extremely responsive and easy to communicate with while planning the menus for the weekend. They were very helpful and accommodating of the groups dietary restrictions, which is so comforting! They took all of the stress out of planning food for our weekend. Their delivery was timely and everything came perfectly prepped and packed with clear instructions. They provided everything we could have possibly needed to enjoy their delicious food. Everything we tried was flavourful, delicious and cooked perfectly but do yourself a favour and get their brisket!! It is quite honestly the best thing I have ever tasted and everyone in the group was going for seconds and thirds. The Food Prep Co. had us fed and happy all weekend. Their pricing is also very reasonable! I wish I lived closer so I could enjoy their food on a regular basis!

Their high-quality 12-minute boil-in-the-bag gourmet pasta, curries, and meats are perfect for stocking up at the cottage or at home. We really enjoy their meals!
