Says open but it’s closed for labour day. Too bad I really wanted to try the place since I came from afar. It would have been nice to have your hours Updated for the holiday.

Nice staff. Owners are nice to talk with. Food and coffee are good too.
They sometimes play live events in the back. Saw some good rugby there.

If your looking for something to eat and drink, Lalies is a great option in Cobourg.

Excellent cafe! My favourite place to have coffee and a bite. The food is delicious and the baked goods are excellent. Very friendly and nice patio, when the weather is good

this place would likely have an overall rating of 2-3 stars if it weren’t for the old dutch oven reviews that were still here. the dutch oven was way better compared to this unfortunate replacement. it had so much history and actual good hot breakfast foods. eggs, bacon, pancakes, home fries, toast…. none of that anymore. just stupid pastry’s and sandwiches. it feels like an LA breakfast place. we’re not in LA. prices are pretty bad and the new owners are not it. the sassy replies to customer complaints will NOT get you respectable clientele. do better

Dietary restrictions: they hardly adhere to special dietary requests. BE VERY CAREFUL.

I ordered the breakfast sandwich for $15 before tax. While my latte was well made the egg in my sandwich was literally frozen. It was like biting into a egg popsicle, the bacon was dry, the arugula wilted and while the bread was fresh toasted on the outside the inner side was wet and mushy. For 15 dollars you would assume it would be at least fresh made. Add to that the bread, dry bacon and wilted arugula, I really do not understand how they think they can charge 15 dollars for that mess. Go for the coffee but do not eat the food.

Updated after response. I returned my sandwich after biting into it, was offered another but was told it would be reheated from frozen again so refused. So when you say bacon made fresh in house, but ignore the main complaint about frozen egg and obviously reheated after frozen bread I don't know how you can claim its made fresh in house? Fresh means fresh not reheated, if it was made fresh in house then frozen before serving, its not fresh is it?

I won't be back in coburg for the foreseeable otherwise I'd have come back to chat in person, even though I did talk to staff after the incident. Saying nothing will be resolved from behind a keyboard is interesting also as you dont complain when people compliment your store from behind a keyboard.

Not going to lie, pretty nice place and nice people. The food was pretty good but they need to update their website because it said they had eggs and bacon but they did not. They only have sandwiches and desserts? -Rosie (10 yo)

Yesterday I had the privilege of overseeing a Celebration of Life which was held downtown Cobourg at the newly renovated Lalies and The Dutch. It was the perfect setting for friends and family to gather to celebrate and reminisce. As a Buddist, special care was taken to honour her beliefs. Her daughters gathered some of her most treasured “little things” and paintings to share with those who knew her well. Perfect setting. Intimate and uplifting.
