I drive from Toronto to Yorkie’s for their delicious menu items. Had their beef brisket sandwich and cornbread, I give it a 10/10 stars.

Stopped by for a late afternoon lunch. Couldn’t decide what I wanted so tried the brisket sandwich and the southern fried chicken.
The brisket was nothing special. Not a lot of smoked flavour and I wasn’t a fan of the house white sauce. Also, cheese has no place on a brisket sandwich.
However, I’m ignoring the brisket because the fried chicken was sooooo good. Unbelievably juicy while still being super crispy. Among the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. The fries were really good - fresh cut and perfectly cooked, and an enormous portion even though only a side. And to top it all off, the real unexpected treat was the cornbread. Now I love cornbread, but so few places do it right, and Yorkie’s is definitely in that small group. The cornbread was moist and flavourful, yet still with that crumble that is unique to true cornbread. And the piece was gigantic - 2-3 times bigger than anywhere else.
All in all a wonderful meal. Will definitely be back for the chicken and will have to try the ribs.
Staff was also really friendly.

Awesome sampler platter. Brisket ribs and pulled pork. Lots of hone fries no cheap out. And beams /iron bread all awesome. Hope to try burgers next

We have gone here for years now I find the ribs are not as good as they use to be to top it off when we looked back at the bill they are now including a tip in the cost. I'm not sure where companies get off charging you to auto tip. I normally do tip if the service is good but when it's forced I I find other places to eat!.....

Response to the owners reply.
When the person behind the counter was asked does your machine have Tap on it and the reply is "yes" When someone taps it should be the base amount that is asked and should not have a tip built into it! That is called negative optioning. This is take out not a eat it restaurant!

Sooo good will definitely be coming back up from Peterborough for this!! The chicken is SO crispy and juicy, best fried chicken I’ve ever had.

Corn breads awesome, whole families fighting for another piece.

First time here a month ago the brisket was amazing, second time and it is still amazing. Great taste and texture😩👌

Now ive taken a chance on the ribs! Same great texture ive come to expect from this place now but whooooooo the salt, wayy tooooo much for my tastes.

**Im a canadian born Jamaican** so im not used to bbq food but god damn it was S-alty… didnt stop me from leaving a plate of bones though, ease up on the salt yorkie😂😂😂 (didnt have this same issue with the brisket tho)

Some of the BEST BBQ we’ve ever had, even the baked beans were so different, can’t say we’ve had anything like it! We couldn’t be happier that Yorkie’s is just a 5 min drive from our house. We can’t wait to come back!!

Parking: There’s a good number of spots. Depending on time, you may not find one.

Honestly expected to much more from this place and what I read and heard from the locals. Recently moved to Cobourg and had been meaning to try yorkies for some time. Finally got around to heading over and getting some food, yeah the place smells amazing when you walk in but be prepared to wait a long time. 2 other people who had already ordered and I’m standing at the cash for a solid 10 minutes with the employees just looking at me, no care in the world. But I endure as iv heard really good things, took another 30 minutes to get my food. Again it’s not remotely busy. Get it home and yeah the fries are pretty darn good, but that’s it. Chickens dry as hell and freaking sharp!! The battery literally cut up mine and my wife’s gums on our first bite, to the point we can taste blood. Eating shouldn’t hurt……the hell you guys put in the batter? Glass?? I sure as heck won’t be going back to this place

Good food and friendly staff. The restaurant has a covered eating area. It does not look like a typical restaurant, but the food was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Burger was supposed to come with onions and pickles. Np onions or pickles or lettuce. Very greasy. Fries under cooked and greasy. So disappointed. ☹️

I didnt go get the dogs so can't really judge service and atmosphere by this was my first time and had the chicken bacon wrap and poutine. It's was delicious. I will be back.
