Had a lovely lunch with my wife. Had the salads and enjoyed the finesse and simplicity. Patio was great.

Really inexperienced staff.
Reservation process was flawed. Good thing we called to confirm the night before.
Food was warm.
Ordered Escargot...tasteless ...swimming in olive oil.
Beef bourguignon featured salty.
No hint of garlic, onions or carrots.

The absolute best Waldorf Salad ever - and a side of frites was inspired!

There’s something so calming & peaceful about a good French bistro. Poppy’s does all of it perfectly. The puffs of the escargot so you can soak up the garlic butter. The subtlety capers in the beef tartar. Champagne comes in a proper glass, even outside. The ambiance is divine, every table feels private but the whole place alive with activity. And the service is fantastic: charming, efficient, and thorough. Alex was delightful, she immediately brought a bowl of water for the dog and offered great suggestions for both food and wine. Bravo!

Always love going to Poppy’s for a meal or drinks. The patio is beautiful & the interior is lovely. Alex is the sweetest & so attentive in how she looks after you. I’ve also had Jen serve me many times & is just the best. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our lunch at Poppy’s French Bistro. The atmosphere is beautiful, bright, and cozy with such a charming French bistro feel. The restored building and patio make it one of the nicest lunch spots in Collingwood.

The food was outstanding across the board and absolutely worth the wait. The steak was cooked perfectly with an amazing sear and tender center, the gnocchi was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the chicken sandwich was fresh and crispy on perfectly toasted bread. Even the fries were excellent.

Service was a bit slow during lunch, but honestly the quality of the food made up for it completely. You can tell real care goes into every dish. Easily a 5 star experience and we’ll definitely be back.

First time at Poppy's. It was excellent. The food was perfect and I can be a little particular. Food prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was really nice. Stylish but welcome. I wish I lived closer so I could go again easily. I will ensure I stop there if I am in that area again in the future.

Took my mom to their Mother's Day Brunch this weekend and had the best time. The set menu was well balanced and offered so many amazing choices it was hard to settle on what to choose! The service was amazing, our server was attentive and very charming. Overall great experience! Will be back for that lobster bisque soon!

This place is a nice expensive little gem... worth every penny. Food was great, service was very good, we felt like welcome guests in someone's home. The steak was perfect. The salad was just lettuce and dressing, but don't let that stop you it tasted amazing. They food looked simple but the taste was anything but!

Poppy's is a beautiful, relaxed and quaint spot. A wonderful France inspired bistro experience right in Collingwood. Dinner was delicious and what topped off the whole dinning experience was our server Jen - friendly, personable and professional. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner a real joy.

A nice bright cozy bistro in the heart of Collingwood, beautiful classic setting, nice selection of wine by the glass, the French Onion Soup was tasty but a bit on the salty side, the Roast Beef Dip sandwich was classic bistro fare, friendly, attentive and helpful staff.

Here’s a clean, balanced English review for that one:

A solid bistro with good food, though nothing particularly outstanding.

The dishes were enjoyable and well-prepared, but didn’t quite reach a level that would make it especially memorable. Still, a nice option if you’re looking for a relaxed meal.

Service, however, was a bit off during our visit. At one point, our entire section seemed to be forgotten—we didn’t see anyone for about 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy (around five tables occupied), and staff were gathered at the bar, so it felt a bit unusual.

That said, it may very well have been an off moment or just bad timing.

Overall, I’d give it 4 stars—good food, but service could use a bit more consistency.
