This is the ultimate hole-in-the-wall place - despite the interior, the take-out here is fresh, great value, and tasty. I recommend the mutton devil and mutton rolls. Their coconut chutney was also very delicious, first time having something like that.

Only 4 stars for the food simply because I didn't have any meat dishes but the vegetarian food was delicious including the samosas.I got take out so can't comment on the dine in experience.The staff were very friendly and helpful and the price was good.

We ordered "pepper chicken kothu roti' however there was not a single pepper. The dish was also requested medium spicy but it was mild to no spice. The chicken tasted stale and dry/old - we had to throw out more than half of the meal and order from a new place. We will not be coming back to Amutham Take Out.

You can call and reserve your food and pickup at the store. Access is easy from Rutherford road. Some Sri Lankan grocery items like biscuits are here for sale.(Munchee/Maliban brand) accepts debit/credit cards. If you’re not comfortable with spicy food, be mindful with your selections. So unprofessionalWent first time and ask for mutton biryani and when we got home and checked it was smell bad and mutton was burned or overly and very little amount of mutton and when I called the person and told him that’s not right order and very little mutton and he replied that’s a good amount and we also added one piece of chicken on mutton order and I said but I didn’t ask for chicken and he rudely replied we had short of mutton that’s why we added chicken and I said if I don’t want any chicken so , he said throw away and eat rice, it was so rude and I have to hang upThen other guy called told me he is the owner and I told him the situation and he said this is what we do when we have short of items we put some other stuff to cover it up , I said I will never order from here any and he said it was your choice to get it from here we never forced you to come here

Had Mutton rolls and veg kothu roti here 3 or 4 times and really enjoyed them each time. Eggplant curry was also really good. Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Every time i drive by I feel like stopping in to grab something.

Unfortunately, I don’t remember the names of the desserts I got, but next time I’ll make sure to write them down to update this review.Edit: included a photo. Also, I probably visited this bakery 10 more times ? Chicken and veggie samosas and laddoo are my favourite. The people are so generous and friendly, I will be coming back again.

I was always greeted with a warm welcome. The owner is taking my order. He is also listening to what I feel like that time. The interaction is pleasant. I noticed that the food tasted as home cooking close to my mother.

Came here during lunch time on a week day. Food smelled nice and the server was quite pleasant.I had the vadai (regular and the spinach), roti, chick peas and goat curry; take out.Vadai was fresh and well seasoned- not spicy. The roti was tasty - not rubbery nor bland; texture was good and it was a good thickness.Chickpeas had some lightly caramélisés onions and dried chillies. The onions were think and sweet - lovely and the dried chillies was a very nice touch. Goat curry was good too, nice cubes that weren’t too big or small. It was not dry but well cooked - the gravy was lightly spiced.Very good first experience.
