Pumpernickel used to be our go-to for catering due to the convenience, ease of ordering and their ability to accommodate food restrictions. Their new policy is ridiculous, I find it hard to believe that a catering company does not offer to accommodate for food restrictions for 2 people but said if I wanted to buy the accommodating items I would have to order the minimum of 10 servings. All other catering companies would allow me to occur the extra costs for accommodating just the few I needed.

We recently had Pumpernickel cater two events for us with not much lead time. I was unsure of number of people (it was open invite no RSVP) but Mark was so incredibly helpful and seriously kind (how rare this is!), not only with menu selection but also quantities and best options for the type of guests we were receiving. Honestly, it was super easy - even online ordering is super easy if you know what you want. Everything was delivered on time, as ordered. Nicely plated too. Guests loved it. We couldn't be more pleased. A special thank you to Mark for being so detailed and attentive. Thank you for doing such a great job.

We ordered for 42 people. We only had 31 people show up, and we still ran out of food.
When I called in, the manager (Ilan) informed me that the kitchen had shorted us on food, but likely the "real problem" was that our guests "ate a lot".
A completely unsatisfactory response.
A very embarassing experience. Ordering from here made us look like unprepared amateurs, running to the store to grab food for the lasts of our guests.

Either order and pay for 1.5x or 2x what you need, or avoid completely!

Second time ordering from them and their team is EXTREMELY helpful and understanding! I had to make quite a few last minute changes and additions and they made them easily without issues. Chris was on top of our order managing things and keeping me in the loop about a special request.

So people often take to the internet to express their disdain, their bad experience and overall negative interaction with a business, But it is not often that consumers take the time to thank businesses for their success. I accidentally placed an order of 135 boxed lunches to be delivered for tomorrow which was the wrong day (and let's face it, boxed lunches are not exactly a quick and easy order to process). When I called them this morning to inform the Catering office, Alon took my call. He took the time to evaluate, assist, assess and deliver! Truly remarkable team! A MILLION THANKS TO ALL THE STAFF. I have ordered from Pumpernickel's a few times now, and today's experience was unforgettable...they have a customer for life! The food is always top notch, high quality and fresh. Their Customer Service is unbeatable, all around amazing service both in the catering office as well as their delivery staff! Words cannot express my sincere gratitude for their efforts, professionalism, response time and for going above and beyond!

Excellent quality and service. Catering staff are very friendly too. Value here is excellent. Fresh, high quality product, reasonable price. If a footlong at subway costs $8, I would rather spend $9 for a sandwich and get something real.
