Captain George's Fish & Chips Cornwall

This review is from a skipthedishes order. Keep that in mind when reading this review. Also keep in mind this was on new years Eve.

The food in quantity was fine however in taste and quality it was lacking. The fish on all 3 meals were tough/chewy either frozen from the back of the freezer or old and overcooked, lacking in flavour. Fries tasted off like they were prepared in old oil somehow the ends were overcooked while the middle of the fry was soggy. I can not speak about the quality when eating at the restaurant. If eating from here do not order delivery from any delivery platform.

Both orders were wrong. Never ended up getting the proper orders. The food we had wasn’t great. The worst part was the server. After being served, she didn’t acknowledge us until she was bringing the bill. We went to pay at the cash and she passed us on to someone else halfway through payment. Will not return.

They have no Halibut fish available... unbelievable...that's like an ice cream store without cones...get it together

I don't usually bother to comment on restaurants but this spot is exceptional. Great fresh battered fish, light tender and tasty.

First time i have to say food was subpar..
Fish was ok , but time to change the grease in fryer as chips were dark and not tasty.

Found out about this fish and chips from the staff of Cornwall Hospice....Best fish and chips we've ever had....perfect fish.

Got some chicken fingers and fries
The chicken had no flavor very bland
Fries were not good at all, very bland no flavor no salt and I couldn't tell if it was just cooked enough to be edible or over cooked was not great at all

Honestly worst place I ever ate chicken fingers and fries in my entire life not going to lie

Dropped in by chance and left very happy and satisfied. Great fish, batter crisp, fresh and not overly thick. Taste the fish, mild and near perfect, with tartar sauce, and fresh fries with the skins on. Service cheery and efficient and personable. Price well worth the quality and portions on display. Recommended, highly. A perfect lunch spot, quiet and memorable for all the right reasons.
