We recently picked up a custom ice cream cake from Cowans Dairy for our daughter's birthday on October 5th, 2024, and to say they nailed it is an understatement!
We ordered a cake with white soft serve on the outside and raspberry sherbet on the inside, holding the cookie but leaving in the fudge.
We also requested purple around the bottom, blue around the top, with chocolate drizzle and Reese's cups, leaving the top blank since we had our own decor.
The attention to detail was absolutely perfect, and the fact that they were able to fit us in on short notice was so appreciated. My husband, who grew up in Brockville, really wanted the nostalgia of a Cowans cake, and they exceeded our expectations!
Thank you so much for making our daughter's party extra special. For the next party, there’s no debate—Cowans Dairy is officially our go-to cake place!

The staff always seems to be smiling and laughing and the sweet treats are absolutely unreal. I’m a sucker for the ice cream cookie sandwiches and every year I order my wife’s birthday ice cream cake from here and it’s delicious 🤤

Cowan’s Creamery in Cornwall—what a disappointment. The service was painfully slow, as if time had no meaning to the staff. Worse still, when I asked to try a sample, I was met with a dismissive refusal. For a place boasting artisanal ice cream, the snooty attitude and lack of hospitality were quite off-putting. Certainly not an experience worth repeating.

The staff and owner are always so kind to my kids. It’s not unusual for them to go out of their way to make them smile. Plus they are very community driven!! Oh yeah, the ice cream is next level too.

On its door, it’s stated that they open till 9pm. We got here at 8.25pm on a Friday and the door’s locked. And the two girls in the store were giggling away at us for showing up. As we were leaving they quickly turned off all the lights. Thanks for showing us regulars your “wonderful” service.
I noticed their hours on Google is different from what’s on their door. It seems they’re open 24 hours on Monday. ??♀️

Their website is misleading by not advertising that they are just serving Kawartha ice cream which can be bought at a grocery store. Nothing special about it. Got the chocolate dip sauce on top of banana ice cream and it was mediocre at best. The chocolate dip sauce was so bland and all three of us who got it weren’t impressed with the lack of flavor. I haven’t tried any of their other products but they really should be advertising on their site that they are just serving Kawartha ice cream rather then leading people to believe they make and sell their own.

Service is always good. Their cow tongues are bigger than similar treats and are better prices worth a good selection of toppings.Their donuts and fudge are really good too.Be prepared though that there isn't really anywhere to eat your snack.

We love everything about Cowan's! The donuts are delicious with lots of creative flavors to choose from, the take and bake pizzas are our favorite, the homemade fudge is amazing and the Kawartha Dairy ice cream is sooo good . The staff is friendly and it's always clean inside.

I put an order for a Birthday cake online, asked for something to be written on the cake. Not only did the girl working not know where to find the ordered cake, it didn't have the writing I had asked for AND the girl wouldn't do it because ' she wasn't a cake decorater 'I'll admit, the cake is great but, I was disappointed that something that was supposed to be completed before pick up wasn't done.
