Guys, come on !!! I drove from the other city. It’s better to add proper hours ! It’s 3 pm and the restaurant is closed. Google maps says 12-21 pm.
Disappointed ☹️
All tables were reserved. Nicely decorated and good atmosphere however there were two loud groups (one of 4 and one of 6) that made it hard for us to hear each other. We were seated at a table by the window but with two vents blowing the AC directly next to us it was cold. At one point my hair was even blowing around. Service was excellent

The menu is limited but almost everything we tried was excellent. The oysters and brie wheel were a lovely way to start, along with a pitcher of sangria. The branzino was tender and on its own bland, but eaten with the sauces on the side was delicious. The Chicken Supreme was also very good, though the risotto that came with it was a little too al dente. The service was great with the exception of our waitress forgetting to bring our wine, even after double checking with us that we still wanted it. Also, they appear to be anxious about getting you out of the restaurant as minutes after being seated we were told we had to be out in an hour and a half. I am not a fan of production line service. The ambiance leaves a much to be desired. It's a small place and very noisy as dishes, pots and pans can be heard clanging in the background while patrons and wait staff speak louder and louder in order to compete with the sound coming out of the kitchen. If you're looking for romance, this may not be the place for you but if you don't mind the noise, a very good restaurant overall.

First visit today and I can see why people rave about it. The staff made me feel welcome right away, and the menu had a nice variety without being overwhelming. I tried their house special and it was both flavorful and filling. The atmosphere felt comfortable, not rushed. Will be back

My wife and I have been going to Birchwood since they were a cafe on Pitt St. I wouldn't call us regulars but we try to go a couple times a year and we've always enjoyed our experience.
Recently, I made a reservation to celebrate a major work achievement for my wife. A few days later, the restaurant called to inform me a large group had booked the entire restaurant and that they were canceling my reservation.
I understand it's a business and they need to fill the restaurant to maximize profit, but it sure doesn't feel good to have your reservation canceled in favour of someone else.
This, unfortunately, has soured our opinion of Birchwood so, when you factor in how many other good restaurants there are in Cornwall and surrounding area, we probably won't be back.

Fav in cornwall. Went during happy hour between lunch and dinner. Minestrone, mussels, cheese & cured meat charcuterie board was fantastic. Suuuuper delicious and beautifully presented. Will def go again and again:))
Parking was a bit tricky with google maps, so I suggest not following Google, as it will take u round and round. We ended up parking at a close by retail building and walking a little.

Well the wife's chicken came with cooked peaches on plate that didn't match the flavor profile if spices used on chicken. I had the lamb which tasted amazing but was a little on the small Size had apple crisp for dessert biggest disappointment of the meal FYI peal your apples before baking

Absolutely delighted to have discovered this gem of a place!
The food was outstanding, and the limited menu was exactly what we were looking for. A focused selection often means greater care and attention to detail—and that’s clearly reflected in the quality of every dish here. Each item felt thoughtfully prepared, and it truly made the experience memorable.
Amazing place went here today writing this review sitting here. Soup of the day was amazing with the Ice Latte great combo the cashier and workers were very nice. We were a big group and they served us nicely and efficiently. Anyone who comes to Yellowknife should stop by this cafe because it is amazing!
Food was great as usual However, noise level was so loud it ruined the entire meal - unfortunately the loud patrons were not addressed by the staff despite 3 complaints made. This is an ongoing issue at this restaurant and the 3rd time I have experienced it.
Wonderful service , food was well portioned on value. Nice variety on menu to choose from . Went with cocktails, oysters and seabass, and chocolate mousse. Could not find fault in any everything tasted fresh from the sea and quality outstanding in other elements . The only issue was there was a large group that were loud and makes it hard to hear anything when communicating at a table of two. But will return .
