Enjoy this cafe but not pleased there’s no wifi on offer. Coffee is good and some really palatable beverages as well. Patio is nice and secluded. Scones are meh. Good to experience once, but not a regular fav.

A family favourite! The cafe is nestled in the Dundas area with both indoor and patio seating. It serves all the regular espresso based drinks along with baked goods, teas and few plated food options. The retail section has freshly baked breads and a selection of their roasted coffee beans. The Power Porridge Bowl is one of the best I've had of its kind and its sweetness level can be customised. I also enjoy their hibiscus elderberry teas in those cold winter days. Detour is a must visit cafe if you are in the area!

Detour Cafe is a sweet little gem in Dundas with delicious food and coffee. I had the breakfast sandwich today and it was very tasty. Their patio is the nicest in town.
A very busy little cafe but serves delicious salads and sandwiches quickly for the lunch crowd. Fresh bread and pastries available daily.

I’ve come to this place a few times recently, but not sure if I’ll be back soon.
The staff is friendly, some more than others, but hey, we aren’t all the smiling type, no big deal.
Each time I’m shocked at how expensive the food and coffee is, especially in comparison to how much you’re getting. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but not $20 for a sandwich or toast with no side, $8 for a coffee good (then a tip + parking).
Seating is limited but there is a sign on the door saying to find a table first before ordering in (makes sense, do what you can with the space you have). There’s no wifi or plugs if you’re hoping to do any work. It is also loud and echoey if you’re there to chat. The tables are small and close together so you can hear conversations very clearly on both sides of you.
Bringing stroller or wheelchair would be difficult, I watched a family try to struggle to fit one beside their table for 10 minutes the other day, but unfortunately it blocked the patio door and they left. They did get side-eyed but unfortunately didn’t receive help from the staff.
I’m all about supporting local, but I think this might be a once every 3-4 month ‘cafe-experience’ when you and a friend get paid a little extra.

Really wish we had more coffee shops like this. Very quaint. Usually packed which is a good sign but also means sometimes it's tough to find a spot to sit. More seating in summer when the patio is open.

Always my go to coffee spot when in town. Excellent espresso, super helpful people and wonderful service!
Got a London Fog and a buckwheat chocolate chip cookie, both were 10/10. The place has great atmosphere and staff were very friendly and helpful in terms of offering dietary substitutions.
