I’m So disappointed for the third time in a row! Whatever I order and ask them they just give me something else! I asked for kale salad and chicken! And paid for it and no chicken in my salad!! I asked for tomato soup and they gave me turmeric soup! You definitely need to pay more attention to your customers.
Good place to get a burger or anything else they sell. Being part of a party of four we sampled a wide range of their wares.
While I very rarely write reviews, I felt the need to today. Out with my family for Mother’s Day and the girl on cash (on the short side) was impatient and rude . When I asked a question and she answered I did not hear her because she spoke quietly she pointed to the board over her and said the choices are right there. Well if I had my glasses on and could read the board I would not have ask in the first place! She continued with her rushed, rude serve. While we have always enjoyed the food from here, paying for food that come with poor service does not sit well with our family. Truly unfortunate for a small business to have an employee brig it down!
Great soup & sandwich place. Smallish dining hall, centrally located. Nice takeout crowd too.
Food and service were both exceptional.
Nice little spot. Not a lot of seating.
Food was really good though. Had the loaded dill pickle fries, tomatoe tortellini soup.
Jamaican jerk stew is so good.
I got the roasted garlic potato leek soup with the buffalo chicken sandwich. Both were delicious. I went for lunch and could have had the soup on it's own as it is very filling. I like that you can order half a sandwich also. I'll definitely be going back to try different options.
I come here monthly, very consistent taste and rations. Always satisfied
I normally don't like to leave bad reviews before trying to fix the problem by approaching and asking for a solution, but the girl behind the counter didn't seem to care so here we are. I've been coming here for a long time for soup and love the food, but I've noticed they neglect to use proper hand hygiene when making food. The girl behind the counter on March 7th at 6pm handling cash and touching the till, you need to either use tongs, gloves or wash your hands after to prepare food. I told her this and she seemed to not care.

Absolutely love stopping in at The Burnt Tongue! The food is always amazingly delicious and the staff are always friendly and kind! I tried their Tomato Tortellini soup with a French onion grilled cheese sandwich and it was out of this world delicious!!! I highly recommend
A fantastic place to get some warm soup and grilled cheese on a chilly winter day. Fair prices, friendly staff, and great food.
Unbelievable soup and grilled cheese! Very busy. This is obviously a local favourite!
Called a few weeks ago; refused to take order over phone .. Taste of the food has changed ; not so good now .. Avoid if you can ..
Update... The second visit was Fantastic, They had all the soups we wanted, they were all great. The Cubano Sandwich was fantastic. The service was great as well. This is what I expected. The first visit was just a blip. I will be back again soon.
Old Review
First time was a disappointment. The soup was great. The staff were not friendly. When we asked for the soup we wanted, we were bluntly told no. After a 10-15 seconds of us looking confused by the blunt answer, they explained that they were out of 2 soups. It was 5:30 on a Tuesday, and you close at 9. I ended up with the Pork Posole Rojo and a half Buffalo Chicken GC. The soup was great, the sandwich was mediocre. My wife got a full smoked Turkey and Provolone without soup as they didn't have what she wanted. Hers was mediocre as well. You would expect a place known for it's soups and sandwiches to always use quality ingredients. Unfortunately, they used lunch meat instead of real turkey. The turkey was even just clumped on, unevenly. The care taken to make the food was not there. I will say they had a bunch of pickup orders right after we got there and I overheard they were short a person, but I would rather wait an extra few minutes to get quality than get poor quality on time.
