Long ago Horn of Plenty used to be the go-to store for health products in Dundas. But not anymore. Buyers be aware : Horn of Plenty's CBD oil. About three weeks ago we passed by the store and noticed it was advertising a CBD tincture for sale. Following our intention to support the store and that CBD producer, we decided to buy the product. We found very soon that it does not work, but we could not say that it's a scam because it does not work for us. Soon we realized that this $150 small bottle (30 ml.) costs much more than the oils with the same concentration on the market. Keep in mind this is just a tincture hemp isolate (industrial hemp), which doesn't mean full spectrum hemp oil. Why is it so expensive? It costs more than twice the highest quality full spectrum certified organic 40 ml CBD oil sold by Canadian Cannabis clinic or elsewhere on the market. Why was the bottle was not sealed properly? The lead was hand wrapped with small piece of cheap tape. There was no "certified organic" label, which is unacceptable for a CBD product featured in a health store. Why did the bottle feature no company name, website address, telephone number and a bar code on its label like all the other CBD products? I went to the store and asked the owner to show me all this stuff and the certificate of the lab test made by a third party, which is mandatory for CBD oils. He didn't answer a single one my questions and promised to call and e-mail us when he gets this information. He never did that. It goes without saying that the product did not meet our expectations the least bit, so we decided to return it. Not only did the owner refuse to provide us with a refund the first time we came, but he behaved in a downright insulting manner. When we tried to press the issue a second time, he didn't even listen to the questions we had about the product. First it has to have a lab test with written name of the producer company and lab's address as well/ telephone numbers in it and website/physical address of the lab. When I asked where he got the product and what it was made from, he responded with shouts and insults and even threatened to call the police, even though it was perfectly in our civil right to demand answers to what was in our estimation, a faulty sale. In my senior age I never, ever saw a store owner treat a customer so badly. We would never dig that deep if the owner was an adequate person. I got just yelling from him. He even claimed to have already sold thousands of bottles of this CBD product! We doubt that is true since he just started to selling it. It wasn't always like this. Long ago, when the store was owned by this man's parents, its shelves were stocked with a widest variety of organic items. Educational journals, books, shows. There were more and more customers every year and the store deserved its name. The employees were always kind and helpful and we could never imagine being treated this way. We knew the owners of the place and had a good relationship with them. Ever since the new owner took over the family business however, the product stock and variety has been steadily but surely declining. We noticed with shock how year after year the inventory of goods offered for sale was shrinking to the point where now it just sells the exact same products that one can find in any common grocery health food aisle. The layout is changing all the time. There were several failed attempts to run a cafeteria inside the store. Then the giant fish display counter. It's gone. Hand plastic wrapped home-made cookies lonely featured on the desks. No success as well. Conventional ice cream. They are gone. The status of health store which is supposed to sell organic health products is forgotten. The former storage space in the store appendix is probably rented for the coffee shop. The coffee is not good and again overpriced. The place is dark and murky. Quite frankly it's not clear how this place still remains in business. It's tragic to see a once solid establishment being

I went to the horn of plenty after seeing their instagram posts of the smiling staff serving half and half shakes with homemade cookie doh! So I went in and stood waiting for a staff member to appear for 10min and after I did see someone they paid no attention to me until I walked up and asked if someone was able to serve me at the ice cream booth. My overall impression of the staff memeber who served me was that he was not happy with his job and definitely not happy to serve me. As for the milkshake it was extremely liquidy and tasted like straight milk. Not impressed ...

Checked this place out for the first time. Was disappointed with the layout of the store. It felt cramped. They have a great bulk selection though.

$5 Curried vegetable lentil soup lacking any depth of flavour, I think they may have forgotten the salt. Vegetable are only carrots and celery which should be in any base of soup so why list it as (Vegetable)? $8 Thai spring roll are mushy, poorly wrapped and lacking any interest, add a bottled Thai chilli sauce to it, you have the worst interpretation of a menu item. Uninspiring and flavourless. They give vegetarian cuisine a bad name! Extremely slow service but once they've given your food, they quick to ask you if you want your bill

I only gave it a 2 because the store part seems OK. As for the restaurant part - worst. breakfast. EVER. And that's saying quite a lot. So-called scrambled eggs were this flat, solid mass that resembled styrofoam that had been run over by a truck, but tasted worse. Ordered orange juice but got mango juice instead. Toast was OK.

My all-time favourite health food store. Be sure to go the last Wednesday of the month for "wow wednesdays" - lots of in-store promotions, samples and product displays, and 15 % off nearly everything.

HOP (Horn of Plenty) is a natural grocery store / market. They offer lots of organic and specialty items for vegans, vegetarians, and other dietary restrictions. There is a large array of supplements and vitamins. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. The best is the bulk food section. There are many different kinds of flour and gluten-free flours, all kinds of nuts, lentils, beans, cereals, and other bulk baking items. This is the place to go if you are cooking/baking anything that doesn't not follow the standard supermarket diet. -Bulk Baking and Cooking ingredients (flour, nuts, lentils, beans, cereal) -Bulk Spices (Huge variety) -Organic produce (small section of seasonal vegetables) -Vitamins and Supplements (large selection, great for vegetarians and other diet restrictions) -Specialty Items (like lentil flour, almond flour, brown rice protein, ...)

Outstanding selection of organic food, supplements and other green products. Service is very good and they are always looking to provide you with personal advice. They have been around for years which proves they are doing something right
