Hello my dear friends
I hope all is well!
I have discovered another special cozy cafe I had to share my review
Recently I moved into the neighbourhood, so I’ve been out and about and discovering new haunts!
Cafe Serano sitting on-the North East corner of Pape at Gamble Ave.
So great for those of us in the hood.
I came here a few weeks ago with a good friend of mine and I’ve become a regular right away!
From the moment you enter the cafe it’s hopping and bopping with LIFE!!
I love the Greek music makes for the wonderful atmosphere.Somehow I feel like I’m being whisked away to the Greek-islands(on my bucket list)I have become addicted to their delicious chocolate eclair when you bite into it your tastebuds are dancing the chocolate and cream are so smooth Oh God it’s so delectable!!

I NEVER feel guilty after all we all deserve a sweet treat every now and then For me it’s more frequent but worth it every time.

The customer services warm and inviting kind and even though I’ve only been coming here a short while the staff already remember me and always greet me with a smile!

If savoury is more your style they have various different selections of sandwiches.
I love the Americano done to perfection
YES my friends you must explore this new haunt of mine and before you know it it will become a wonderful habit and a delight
See ya there!!
❤️🙏

It's very authentic with an amazing vibe. I will definitely get back here for the pistachio cream roll. It was the best I ever had, but the cheesecake baklava was a bit old. 🤤🍰😋

Longtime customer of the Serano bakery but haven't been to the cafe as much. Stopped by for a quick bite and got:
- Ham and Cheese Sfoliata: Flaky pastry, really tasty filling. I liked how this wasn't overly puffy so was almost like a pizza.
- Chicken Salad Sandwich: A bit too light on the chicken but loved the toasted bread.
- Nutella Latte and Flat White: Pretty standard.

Interior has that typical loungey vibe juxtaposed with a bustling counter. Great outdoor patio seating. Prices are reasonable. Staff is super welcoming and helpful.

While the bakery will always be my and my sweet tooth's first stop, this is a good cafe to visit if you're in the area.

The cafe used to be a nice place to bring your family. Not anymore. I took my daughter for a sweet treat. The experience was so bad we will never go back. The staff were rude (this is the norm now) The atmosphere has changed for the worse. We sat on the patio only to have several people at the other picnic tables start smoking even though it’s prohibited. At one table all the men were smoking being obnoxious and swearing. There was a car idling right beside the patio. My daughter has asthma. Between the cigarette smoke and the exhaust fumes we had to leave. My daughter found her pastry had a long black hair in it. We found Select Bakery on Donlands. They have a small cafe. The staff are amazing, their pastries are better and they make good coffee.

I usually enjoy visiting Serrano Café with my friends, but my recent experience with one of the baristas who is wearing a earring I’m not sure about his name I think is Niko was very disappointing. The service was unfriendly and rushed, as if taking my order was an inconvenience. When I asked a simple question about the menu, the barista seemed annoyed and gave a dismissive answer. On top of that, my drink was prepared carelessly and didn’t taste right at all.
Good customer service makes a huge difference in a café, and unfortunately, this barista’s attitude left me feeling unwelcome. I hope management takes this seriously, because it really brings down the experience at what could otherwise be a nice place to enjoy coffee.

This is a picture of their chicken salad sandwich. My husband and I couldn’t see any chicken but when I brought it back the cashier dug into the bread to show me pieces of chicken so few & thin they look like soggy bread. I said “So it’s a chicken spread then, not a salad”. She said “Yeah”. We ate the sandwich since they didn’t offer a refund, but I couldn’t taste anything except tomatoes & Dijon mustard. It’s a shame because, except for that, everything we’ve bought from Serano for decades was always excellent.

The pastries and the drinks are amazing, the tea is fresh and the coffee is just GOOD, the service it’s kind of cold and not too friendly, the atmosphere is a little busy, because it’s familiar (nothing wrong with it, it’s nice).

They had a great variety of baked goods. The prices for all the baked goods are very fair. You can buy a lot of thier selection in a small size or a larger size. All the desserts were delicious and good quality. The service is very good an efficient here. There was little to no wait, though the place was always busy, and their parking lot was full. They have a system where you can grab a ticket and someone will come and help you. The staff was very friendly.
