“I came here about a month ago for some delicious fish and chips. Everything was so tasty. We tried all three types of fish - halibut, cod and haddock. I actually found the Cod to be the flakiest and softest. We also tried the clam strips! A very interesting appetizer that we’ve never seen before. Service was also very good. This is such a gem of a restaurant and I can’t wait to come back!”

“I went for a quick meal in mid-afternoon. I had the lamb and chicken combo which came with a side of green salad and rice. I chose not to have the rice. To my surprise I was I was charged less than what the price stated on the menu. The chicken and the lamb were both tender and spiced just right. I was very impressed by the quality of the food - fresh, clean and very tasty. For a quick and inexpensive meal, I highly recommend Afghan Cuisine on Overlea Blvd.”

“Ordered this beautiful Chinese dinner tonight through Uber Eats as a treat! It was a feast of Cantonese chowmein, sweet and sour chicken balls, jumbo breaded shrimp, plain rice, szechwan beef and chips with curry sauce.

So much fresh meat and veg in the dishes, food was flavourful and loved the sauce. Chicken balls and shrimp are huge, but inside was a nice amount of meat to batter and it was so crunchy....we just loved that part! Came with sweet and sour sauce as well. The curry sauce was really good but the chips not so delicious just ok.

The great part was the amount of food received and price, it cost us $52 on the uber eats app! We have alot of left overs to enjoy another day!

Definitely will order here again, and try other dishes!

“I love this place. Our friend introduced it to us recently. We tried it and we liked it a lot. Now I have a sushi place in the east end because my go to place was in the west end in the annex area.
It is true that the variety is not huge but it is still great because it satisfies our basic variety. Highly recommended.”

“DELICIOUS!!!This is a long due review that I kept meaning to make. I am From Calgary and I have never tried momos because we just couldn’t find halal ones. However, I had been recommended this place time and again and I’m so happy that I was.Their momos are out of this world.I ordered the Chili momos, the tikka masala momos, the kurkure momos, their chicken chowmein and their spicy wings. Their chow mein and tikka masala momos are to die for!!!!Everything was exceptionally good, but those two were my favourite.If I visit again, I will be definitely going there God willing.I really hope they open a branch here in Calgary. People would be swarming inside!!”

“I usually order through UE. You can tell everything's made fresh, and it's all quite tasty. If you’re like me, and like lots of toppings, just ask. Their spinach pies are also delicious. I just wish there was an option online to order a smaller portion of the loukoumades on UE.

Edit: I ordered delivery very close to closing time. They didn’t have enough spinach pies to fulfill my order, but gave me extra of a different kind to make up for it. ❤️ When I went in for the first time they recognized me by my order & offered me a coffee. “Great family-owned resto. We were greeted with smiles immediately and the food came within 10 minutes. We were served by Thomas, the son of the owners…he was very friendly. We were asked no fewer than four times if we wanted more coffee (by all the servers which says a lot about a resto to me). The coffee is quite strong but better that than too weak like a lot of other places. The menu includes all the breakfast options. The Hollandaise is not homemade but still decent. The syrup is not real but still ok. The pancakes are huge. They serve real butter. It wasn’t noisy which is often the case at breakfast places. I love that they have booths. They are wheelchair accessible and have their own free parking. Only one con: no freshly-squeezed juice.”

Crust was crispy, slice was soft, however, the only downside was that I didn’t taste the gouda cheese much. The person who made it was extremely nice, and patient. The garlic sauce did feel more of a dressing than dip, but I’d definitely recommend trying this option out.”

“Located near Pape Ave. and Mortimer Ave., walking distance from Pape subway station, Number One Chinese restaurant is a great little local gem serving classic Chinese Cantonese dishes.

Featured in the images are:
- Pan fried Rice noodle with beef: a Cantonese classic rice noodle dish. Savory and often a favourite across the ages. Main flavour base is soya sauce and not spicy at all. Keep in mind, if you're looking for these on the menu, you'll find them in the 'Cantonese' section and not the noodle section. Solid 4/5 as some might find this dish a bit on the oily side (note: not a fault of Number One. Typically, making this rice noodles requires a certain level of oil to keep them from sticking in the wok).

- Fried bean curd with beef: on the menu, this is made with fried bean curd but our family likes it with the regular white tofu. This is what I so appreciate about Number One. They were willing to change the dish to the white tofu. Either way, the dish tastes great, savory and easy to eat but the white tofu just makes it so much smoother and goes so well with steamed rice. 5/5

- Pan fried noodle with chicken and mixed vegetable: this is also a classic Chinese dish, pan fried thin yellow noodles with chicken and mixed vegetable. I appreciate that the dish isn't too salty and is an overall crowd pleaser. Note: some restaurants make these yellow thin noodles crispy fried. Number One makes them pan fried. We like these noodles regardless so it's not a game changer for us. Flavour and taste this dish gets 4/5

“Ever since Iqbal on Thorncliff has been ripped out to make room for Metrolinx, I've been on the hunt for authentic tasting Hyderabadi Biryani. I was not disappointed when I ordered from Zabardast. The vegetable biryani bucket was absolutely AMAZING. Only real issue I had was with the Naan bread. Naan could have been better. Texture of the Naan was very rubbery. Butter chicken sauce was a bit sweet but It tasted fine the next following day. I will be ordering again.”

“I love Subhan Halal Pizza and their fried Chicken; they are more delicious compared to several other pizza stores I’ve tried in Toronto. I also appreciate the fact that I don't have to worry about my food or cheese being haram. Sometimes I go to Subhan Pizza in person, but mostly order from them via Uber Eats, and sometimes they forget to include things like creamy garlic but that's Human and alright. I HAVE TO EAT THEIR PIZZA TWICE EVERY MONTH! Also, I think their customer service will do much better if they smile a bit more. ?”
