“One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Toronto. Darna completely exceeded our expectations.

We ordered a full spread and everything was outstanding. The hummus was incredibly smooth and fresh, the baba ghanoush had deep smoky flavor, and the falafel were perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. The mixed grill platter with lamb, chicken, and kafta kebabs was cooked beautifully with that authentic charcoal flavor you hope for in real Middle Eastern cuisine.

The stuffed grape leaves, tabbouleh, and fresh salads were vibrant and clearly made with high quality ingredients. Every dish tasted authentic, balanced, and full of flavor.

And the knafeh for dessert was incredible. Warm, crispy pastry with creamy cheese and just the right amount of syrup, finished with pistachios. Easily one of the best Middle Eastern desserts we’ve had.

Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt welcoming and relaxed. You can tell this place takes real pride in the food.

“Service is good and very fast. Food is amazing. I haven't had authentic Egyptian food before so I don't know how authentic it would be to an Egyptian person but it looked pretty authentic and tasted great.

Dine-in area is small, seats around 15 people max so reservation is recommended for guaranteed seating. We visited around noon, right after they opened and we didn't need a reservation.

The interior is nice, simple touches here and there that tie in really well with the theme. Highly recommended. Not cheap but not pricey at all“

“I had such a great experience at Koochini Shisha Bar! The atmosphere was vibrant, the music set the perfect mood, and the shisha quality was excellent with smooth flavors and great variety.

Everything was fantastic, from the hot freshly made pita bread, to the delicious hummus and the tawuk (chicken breast) which was tender and juicy. “I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

“Amidst the growing sea of corporate chains like Wendy’s and Popeyes on this corner, Habibi Shawarma is a necessary breath of fresh air. It is so important to support these independent spots that actually give the neighborhood its character.

I ducked in here while I was freezing and soaked to the bone from the pouring rain, and the experience was exactly what I needed. I was in and out quickly, but the service was incredibly kind. Marina made my sandwich and had such a lovely, warm energy that immediately took the edge off the cold. Even the owner wished me well on my journey back out into the rain as I was leaving it was a genuinely nice moment of human connection.

Now, I’m warm and cozy at a friend’s place, and this chicken shawarma wrap is absolutely delicious. If you're in Parkdale and want to support a local business that actually cares about its customers, stop in here. It does not disappoint.“

Pita Land is my go-to spot for fresh and flavorful Mediterranean food! The shawarma is perfectly seasoned, the pita is always warm and soft, and the garlic sauce is amazing. Great portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service every time. Highly recommend!“

“Had a wonderful evening at Mar’aa Yorkville. From the moment you enter the elevator you’re greeted by a beautiful scent that sets the tone for the experience. Upstairs, the space opens up to a stunning panoramic view of the Toronto skyline. 🌆

The decor is elegant and thoughtfully designed, making it a great date spot or place to enjoy a stylish night out. The bar is also beautiful and perfect for cocktails. 🍸

My wife and I shared the Mar’aa Spread Sampler, Lamb Manti Dumplings, Baked Scallops, New Zealand wild caught Seabream, and the 24 Hour Braised Australian Wagyu Short Rib. Everything was excellent and full of vibrant Middle Eastern flavours.

Service was fantastic as well. Special thanks to Patrick, Melina, and Michael for their warm hospitality.

I had the opportunity today to pass by and visit my old friend Johnny at his shawarma restaurant on Kennedy Road not far off the 401... @johnnysshawarma is consistently ranked in the top handful of shawarma restaurants in the city and I can honestly say that I've never had better shawarma anywhere (not even when visiting Israel!)... And that says a lot considering with my middle eastern roots (my Dad was from Egypt) this is one of my favorite foods as it's delicious as it is nutritious especially when given the option to swap out the starchy carbs like the insanely good rice and potatoes with equally amazing salads and dips...
