“I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

“It was our first time at Lara's in celebrating my nephew's grooming party (zeyaneh). Everything was to perfection down to the last detail. Food was phenomenal (the maza was enough to serve as a meal), the meat and chicken was cooked to perfection as well. Service was professional and very accommodating. It tasted odd... shortly after,, I called the location to tell them, something was off with the ingredients. I wasn't sure of it was the onions, turnips etc. something was left out too long perhaps... and today I am sick as a dog. I've eaten here before. I think they need better quality control on the food... especially being safely stored.. perhaps temperatures..etc“

“Glad that we have an ali baba's in the area, the restaurant itself is very clean and well maintained and food is flavourful and fresh. My favourites are the chicken shawarma wrap and the falafel wrap, the have daily deals that are a great price!The staff are friendly and courteous, but when they get very busy and there is a line, the service and attention to hygiene get looked over. Multiple times that I have been there and it has been busy I noticed that they didn't take their gloves off when touching the checkout machine and money and resumed to serve others with the same gloves on.Also, when busy, they rush to get everyone's orders put together and ingredients that I said I didn't want were put into my wrap. I'd rather wait a little longer and get the right ingredients.I will definitely give them another chance and hopefully by then this issue is corrected!“

“This place is one of my go to go places for over 5 years now. But the problem with them is that they are inconsistent with their food. I usually order their shawarma dinner which comes with this tasty potatoes but the chicken is usually dry because it has been sitting around for too long. The place looks very old and feels like it’s not fully clean ( in need for a big renovation ). So in my opinion if they start making fresher chicken shawarmas, they could have more customers.“

“I discovered Red and White when they first opened almost 20 years ago. Smart phones and google reviews werent even a thing lol. I lived in an apartment just down the street.. single guy so it was a quick fix for a great price.. feels like it was a different life lol.

The shawarma here, was hands down the best I've had in Toronto.. I think it was my first shawarma too.. this is the kind of meal you want and could eat daily. There was no getting tired of it, it was that good.

Since then, I've moved, had kids, started my own business.. i've had LOT'S of shawarma from all different restaurants from all nationalities hoping, praying even to find another shawarma that was close and ive had some almost as good, but I've yet to find a place that can put together such a delicious shawarma as you get here.

A lot has changed in almost two decades since I came across this place.. and as luck would have it, I was in the area the area this afternoon. imagine the excitement when I saw Red and White still there! It had changed owners though.. naturally I asked myself "will it be the same?" I rolled the dice, ordered a wrap with everything on it like i always did, and AMEN! I was a 20 year old again.. the nostalgia.. it brought back some great memories with just one bite.. if youre wondering.. YES it was just as good as the first time.. I just finished mine and I'm ready for another.. I don't know what they put in it, but it's DAMN DELICIOUS! If you're in the area, treat yourself. Great price for a big wrap, but all the plates are generous servings.

Disclaimer: you won't be able to enjoy a shawarma anywhere else after this. So be ready for that..

A way i like to describe dishes with this kind of flavour is to say "itll make your mouth orgasm" lol.. yeah. It's that good. Don't take my word for it. The worst that'll happen is you'll be disappointed.. that you didnt try this sooner or that Red and White isn't closer to your home.. I know I am ?‍?

You'll remember this review and thank me.. you'll thank yourself too for trying it, I'll bet on it.
