“Great chicken shawarma with very fresh vegetables. Went on a Wednesday, there was no line and the food was made very quickly. Washrooms for customers are a plus. Clean maintained indoor seating area. The pickles and pickled turnip make it one of the better spots to get shawarma. Great location, five minutes from highway 27, with plenty of parking and a cheap gas station across the street.“

I absolutely love coming here, especially post gym / on an appetite because the portion ratio you get is never skimped so you will always get your money’s worth, especially protein wise.

What I really love about this franchise is that they aren’t afraid to innovate compared to Osmows, Shelbys, etc. and all those other viral shawarma places you see on instagram and tiktok are never really true to their taste, prices and hype as influencers hype it up and get special treatment in portion sizes. Example is me trying their new blueberry chicken wrap to their ramen shawarma which where are you even getting these experimentations elsewhere?

Also the service is always quick, the place is clean but the utmost is Nitish, one of the workers there who knows me as a regular and just always greets and treats me like family. Even when I order over ubereats, he just knows; That goes a long way in creating a warm and welcoming vibe and environment without that force factor.

“I really appreciate that the staff are always smiling, it shows that the work atmosphere is great. Kudos to the management, because a positive atmosphere really reflects in the customer service. Also, whenever I order for pickup, my order is usually ready within a few minutes, so the speed is excellent. I’m very satisfied with both the service and the food so far!

One small suggestion: for the bowls,I would appreciate a slightly larger portion of protein if possible. I usually order through Uber, and a bit more protein would make the portion even better. Just a suggestion“

So..I discovered the chain at the north etobicoke location many years ago...good food, good portions and lightning fast service.
Moved to south etobicoke and you can see from previous review....not good!! Ingredients marked keep refrigerated ...unrefrigerated etc.

Last few times tho.....EXCELLENT service...fast, efficient, cheerful....could not be better!

I got exactly what I asked for...and plenty of it!

If you go to this location.....be aware it has improved....and...if he is there Anjo is DA MAN!!

HIGHLY variable depending on staff on duty. What varies? Communication, ingredient proportions, portion size, spice levels, ..almost everything.
What doesnt change? Frequent diarhea after eating here.
Could just be me. Everyine is different. But...given the spotty training...could be old sauces?

I've been to many ethnic food spots in Toronto and this far has a niche of its own, a pedigree unmatched would not be overstating the high quality of food and service at Sommer Shawarma! Suffice to say your experience could rival some of the best culinary experiences you could have jn all of Canada and that is a tall claim and one that I would make in a heartbeat about this joint; they serve a healthy breakfast- makhlama is egg omelette with minced meat fried with inions and tomatoes to perfection, for lunch you could choose a simple but hearty chicken or beef shawarma and for dinner the best grilled beef skewers in the city!! Match that with lamb shanks steamed to perfection and you could be forgiven for not wanting to leave this abode of mouth watering meat diahes on offer ;)
They also make party platters with combinations of meat choices on rice alongside offering falafel with vegetarian fritters that alone would make you fall in love with this place, did i mention the fresh massive naan breads and sammoun!!? Well that alone could be a reason to visit this place but that is upto you to decide - an ambience that makes it a farm countryesque feel with prices better than many shawarma shops there is so much to love and the lady Hamdiyya she is so sweet makes this place feels likes you come back home...what are you waiting for? “Such a hidden gem! We are a big fan of Ethiopian food, but never knew that this spot was right here. This seems like a nice owner run shop. The owner and his family are super welcoming, polite and the food tasted amazing! We also tried the gluten free Enjira made with teff, incredible!

The place was clean, including the washroom (which is great), food tasted well and there were folks constantly coming in to take out or eat in, which shows the popularity of the spot. The owners were polite towards our toddler, who also had a good time here. We highly recommend this spot and we will be back here again.“
