We came across this restaurant randomly, and I can confidently say it has become one of my favorite spots for Persian food. It’s a cozy, homey place where the food truly speaks for itself, everything was incredibly flavourful and made with care. I also loved that you can swap half the rice for salad for just a $2 charge, which was totally worth it. The owner was wonderful as well, very welcoming and hospitable. The owner cut the meat fresh off the rotisserie, most shawarma shops pre cut their meats & have sit in a heating compartment which dries it out. Beef was amazing with extra beef fat on the rice, chicken was juicy. He gave me extra beef fat when I asked with no issues.

“I first came to this place more than 15 years ago and it was amazing..a hidden gem.., then it changed owners and they tried to make it more "upscale" but it was just more expensive and quality of the food dropped..it was still "ok" for a change once in a while.. . I have not visited Belle for years now as I moved out of Toronto and then the pandemic and yesterday while in Toronto we decided to order take out .....very very disappointed The prices don't match the quality of the food and when we picked up we just saw a bunch of teens playing videogames not really customer oriented. We had to wait longer for the order and the food was cold. The Lula kebab was burnt, the home fries (that was the signature master piece) were dried up, the chicken was tasteless... Poor quality, poor customer service and expensive. Will not come back or recommend again“

We were meet by the owner who was so kind, considerate and took it upon himself to make us a platter full of a variety of food. The meal started with appetizers followed by the platter. “I really appreciate that the staff are always smiling, it shows that the work atmosphere is great. Kudos to the management, because a positive atmosphere really reflects in the customer service. Also, whenever I order for pickup, my order is usually ready within a few minutes, so the speed is excellent. I’m very satisfied with both the service and the food so far!

One small suggestion: for the bowls,I would appreciate a slightly larger portion of protein if possible. I usually order through Uber, and a bit more protein would make the portion even better. Just a suggestion“

I've been to many ethnic food spots in Toronto and this far has a niche of its own, a pedigree unmatched would not be overstating the high quality of food and service at Sommer Shawarma! Suffice to say your experience could rival some of the best culinary experiences you could have jn all of Canada and that is a tall claim and one that I would make in a heartbeat about this joint; they serve a healthy breakfast- makhlama is egg omelette with minced meat fried with inions and tomatoes to perfection, for lunch you could choose a simple but hearty chicken or beef shawarma and for dinner the best grilled beef skewers in the city!! Match that with lamb shanks steamed to perfection and you could be forgiven for not wanting to leave this abode of mouth watering meat diahes on offer ;)
They also make party platters with combinations of meat choices on rice alongside offering falafel with vegetarian fritters that alone would make you fall in love with this place, did i mention the fresh massive naan breads and sammoun!!? Well that alone could be a reason to visit this place but that is upto you to decide - an ambience that makes it a farm countryesque feel with prices better than many shawarma shops there is so much to love and the lady Hamdiyya she is so sweet makes this place feels likes you come back home...what are you waiting for?
