“Loved this place. Food was amazing. Unfortunately I live 12 hours away. And will probably never be in the area again. We got an apple cake to bring home with us. It's about gone and it will be missed. It is tempting to make the 24 hour round trip just for the “
“I met the owner when I liked a post on social media and he invited me to come try his product. The food is super fresh, full of flavour and the staff is amazingly friendly and willing to answer questions as Syrian food was a new adventure for me. I recently returned to Toronto and this was a prearranged stop, as it will be the next time I am in town as well. Well done, they deserve every star they receive!“
“I got invited to his wonderful place. A delicious taste of Siria in Toronto. And let me tell you Toronto, you've come a long way. Zezafoun is a definite come back. We ordered a shared dish that was super sufficient to satisfy our brunch hunger.“
“Amazing service super friendly and despite being extremely busy everything came out fast. They never rushed us either.Food is authentic and all of it was really really good.Place is busy so you need to luck with a table or pack your patience, but it will be worth it.Vegetarian options: Humus, tahini, saladsKid-friendliness: Family friendly“
“Tuba is a wonderful chef whose delicious food brought back warm memories of my trip to Turkey decades ago. Tuba came to our house last year to teach a group of friends and I how to make an array of classic Turkish dishes. It was a fun night with shared stories of food and other adventures. I highly recommend asking her to cater for you, or dive right in and ask her to come and show you how it’s done!“
“It is one of the best ? restaurants that we have been in Toronto. It was not too expensive. Food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional. We always have something to say about restaurants, but this one closes our mouths. Thanks, guys, for the attention. ? recommended!“
“Fat Pasha is not just a restaurant; it's an experience woven from the finest threads of hospitality and culinary artistry. From the moment you step through its doors, you're transported to a realm where flavors dance and every bite tells a story.I've had the pleasure of dining at Fat Pasha multiple times, and each visit leaves me enchanted. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with a rustic charm that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. Whether you're seated at a cozy table or at the bustling bar, the atmosphere exudes a sense of belonging. Now, let's talk about the food. Every dish is a masterpiece, a fusion of tradition and innovation that celebrates the richness of Middle Eastern cuisine. The hummus is velvety smooth, the falafel crisp and flavorful, and the shawarma... oh, the shawarma! Succulent and fragrant, it's a symphony of spices that leaves your taste buds begging for an encore. But perhaps what sets Fat Pasha apart is the impeccable service. Anthony Rose and his team go above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels like family. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you're treated with warmth and genuine hospitality that's increasingly rare in today's dining scene. In summary, Fat Pasha is more than just a restaurant; it's a haven for food lovers, a sanctuary where passion and creativity converge to create magic on every plate. If you haven't experienced it yet, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Your taste buds will thank you.“
“We went to Chef Harwash on our trip to Toronto in 2023. I've been putting off writing this review. My husband and I still talk about the wonderful food we had here. The chef/owners were so incredibly nice. The food was really well seasoned. We ordered the shawarma, the Damascus cheese w bread, and other dishes that now I can't remember. All of his sauces were incredible. Prices were affordable. This place is a gem! I don't know if we will ever come back to Toronto. It was a lovely city though. If we do, visiting Chef Harwash would be #1 on my list.“
“This place was super fun, great atmosphere, and the belly dancer show added a whole level of cool factor to the experience.Food was tasty and a good variety of options. Our waiter was super personable and helpful.Just be warned, the belly dancer will try to get you to dance with her ?“
“I finally got to try this place a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint! I ordered over the phone for collection. I went for the mix and match pie, half Spicy shatta Bomba and half Upside down and they made them both vegan for me. I also got the burnt tomato dip.Collection was quick and easy and the person who served my was very bubbly and friendly.I got home and when I say I INHALED it...it was sooo f'ing delicious. The restaurant is very cute, will definitely be back to try for dine in“
“No shawarma place has EVER done this…Me and 4 friends came down from Mississauga at 1 am to try their beef. We’ve had their chicken before but never had their beef shawarma. We called an hour earlier and confirmed they had beef. The guy said yes (they sell out of this quick so we had to make sure it was worth the trip). We headed down. Got there an hour later and beef was sold outtt! I was pretty bummed Ngl. I figured I’d just get chicken again. So me and my friends ordered full meals and then we sat down and enjoyed every second of it. The food is amazinggg. Flavourful, solid portion, incredible price. And a few minutes in, one of the servers comes to our table and drops a plate of beef shawarma for me and all my friends to share! He said he found a few last pieces of beef that he was able to whip together for us and didn’t even charge us for it!That’s what you call going above and beyond!!!Solid customer service, 1000% repeat customer and will continue recommending this place. Not only because of the customer service, but the foood and hospitality is UNMATCHED for a shawarma joint!Best all around experience I’ve ever had in Canada!“
“This place is incredible!! Needed a solid meal full of flavour today and this is in the neighbourhood. I would STRONGLY suggest you stop in for delicious eats :) I’m a vegetarian and my partner is omnivorous— we both found things we loved. Great views & awesome friendly staff. Can’t wait to return for our next meal out, or grabbing eats/samosas to go for an event soon !Vegetarian options: The REASON I will return forever — so goodDietary restrictions: All bases covered :) and all flavourfulKid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Ramp available“
“I often find myself going out of my way just to eat there or pick up a sandwich from this place. I think it's simply the best Chicken shawarma sandwich in Toronto!...but you don't have to just take my word for it..go check it for yourself!“
“We wandered in and had the best surprise- a wonderful experience. Delicious meal, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Best of all, quiet enough to have a conversation we will be back. The only negative is that it’s a bit pricey although very good.“
“I went there for my wife's birthday dinner and the food was amazing. We had Falafel, Banaganuj and Lamb skewers and everything was deliciously good. The right quantity at a reasonable price. The lamb skewers with rice is a standout. Had a really nice experience here. We also had a complimentary Kunafa Ashta on the house as a special treat for birthday. The menu at this place is straightforward and the drinks were fantastic, the food was also perfect, reason why they are always busy.!!!Definitely will come back!!!“
“I was in the area, helping out with a filmmakers workshop, and I wanted to grab something to nosh on. I discovered that Parallel was just around the corner, and have heard great things about their halva. Now, as a child I never truly appreciated the subtle nuances that make a sesame tahini snack delicious, but as an adult my taste buds have been refined, and I was all in favour of the variety of halvas available at Parallel.I went for the pistachio halva because I was feeling nutty, and then saw they have salads to go. And I thought - as an adult I should have at least one meal with some form of vegetable, so I bought the Parallel salad and was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. It sustained me through my 4-hr workshop and then some!Vegetarian options: The Parallel salad is vegetarian #iykyk“
“Always spectacular. I thought I'd reviewed before, but it's worth noting as this has become one of our favourite spots in the city. The owner is an absolute gem of a man, and the price can't be beat! Thank you for feeding our community. ?“
“The service at patisserie royale is always fantastic! Very warm and welcoming staff, Hassan helped us figure out what to buy and was incredibly friendly and gave us a great experience :)The pastries are always phenomenal, I drive from Oshawa all the time to come and get them and they are worth the ride“
“NIce humble shop... Food is great. Owner is friendly... A definite recommend for a try if you need something to grab and go.It can be a little too big to fit in your mouth though... so maybe walking and eating it may not be the best idea... Sit and chill outside the stall, enjoy it before carrying on with your day :)“
“I knew it was going to be good the moment I realized they started prepping the falafels only after I ordered them. Got them fresh and hot, Crisp on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The shawarma was excellent. The staff pleasant and cheerful. Felt like I was in a restaurant in the Middle East. The only giveaway was that CP24 was playing on the TV.“
“The Syrian style chicken/beef shawarma is delicious every time, pretty big portion and the pita wrap is nice and thin. I wish I knew what brand pickles they use in the shawarma, so crunchy and amazing taste! The spice mix lightly sprinkled on the fries, just a perfect touch. Amazing Shawarma spot in the neighborhood, their delivery orders come warm every time“
“Delicious home made veg meals - Egyptian plates - fresh, filling, reasonable pricing. Was my first time, and noted the people behind me were regulars. I will be back now that I know this place is here. Staff were friendly. Mint lemonade was refreshing and not sweet. 5 stars.“
“This place is the best to go with your family, it's very comforting, delicious food the work team are very respectful, kind & very welcoming, amazing. The restaurant is very clean that made me so comfortable to go in and dine in with my family. We drove 8 hours away from Toronto and as always it was worth of coming and dining in here thank you so much once again.“
“Best workers I have ever met, the males got it down to a science, they know exactly how to treat customers, and perfect food every time, I haven't had the same experience with both genders, but the multiple male interactions have all been “
“I recently had the pleasure of trying the shawarma at The Bhais Shawarma & Grill, and it was truly exceptional. The flavors were rich and well-balanced, and the meat was tender and perfectly seasoned. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and welcoming. It was evident that the staff takes pride in their craft and strives to deliver an outstanding culinary experience. I highly recommend The Bhais Shawarma & Grill to anyone looking for the best shawarma in town. I will definitely be returning soon! ?“
“This place deserves 10 stars for service. Sometimes I want to go in just to chat with the really nice ladies. The food is pretty great too.Vegetarian options: The veggies are so good I never bothered with the meat dishes.Dietary restrictions: Vegan friendly“
“We were quick to be seated and the server was very attentive. Started off with hummus, Naan bread, french fries and falafel as appetizers then shared a salmon meal and a garlic shrimp dinner amongst 4 people which came with rice and grilled veggies. The food was delicious, and cooked at the perfect temperature. Will definitely make this part of my regular rotation.“
“I don't know when I will stop saying I'm new in canada, but I'm new anyway..this day ,I was just passing right outside this Lebanon place..I noticed some samosas which looked very well cooked and i could tell from far ,they were tasty..and yes they were.I popped in and it was before their opening hr,but they opened the back door for me.. How nice..let me tell you,,I'm going back there soon with friends for the samosas..Bravo to one lady who told Me she is from Sudan. She was very nice to me...Much love.“
“Had the Delicious Doner sandwich. The gentleman who served me was very friendly and made the sandwich to exactly how I liked it. Meat is charred on a hot plate before serving (always a winner for me).Lots of veggies and sauces make it awesome as well.Only thing that would make it better is the sandwich bread is toasted (instead of just heated in the microwave) before serving. Also gave complimentary spring rolls!“
“We reserved a table for 10+ people for a birthday celebration. We arrived a bit early, but were seated promptly. The food was exceptional (especially the whipped feta, hummus, fried chicken, eggplant, etc.). Service was top notch and everyone was extremely accommodating/friendly. The ambience was fun and relaxed. The chef was very welcoming and took her time to explain a few of her creations. Would definitely return again!“
“Had a really great experience here a few nights ago. The seating and atmosphere is very nice. Our server made great recommendations based on what we were looking for and the amount of people we were with, everything is shareable. Fried eggplant, beef tartare, shrimp and the hot honey fried chicken were amazing.“
“Pretty decent Pides compared to ones I tried in Toronto. I ordered pear and Gorgonzola. I had my doubts but I was surprised how good it is. Service was nice too.2nd visit didn’t disappoint. Love thanksVegetarian options: Pear ? and Gorgonzola“
“I drop by this place every time I visit my family doctor. Here are my favorites:The saj bread is fantastic, I buy it and essentially stock up on it.Their Baba Ganoush is the closest I have come across in the entire city to my first experience of homemade Baba Ganoush by a Syrian auntie, the eggplant component is very strong and obvious (and the main reason I like Bana Ganoush). They do also label it as Moutabbal, so perhaps the other stuff is added. But it's not the garbage that's mostly hummus in grocery stores that somehow passes for baba ganoush. They make proper falafels (i.e. not all yellow inside, but has green), but you have to buy the prepackaged and heat it yourself for the right crisp. And I always buy a plate of chicken shawarma. It's good, kinda distinct, stronger on the spices. Uses a mix of dark and white meat. There are other places I prefer more for the chicken flavour. But it's definitely not disappointing by any means.“
“I had experience with Shawarma Royal it’s delightful blend of tender, marinated meat, usually chicken and beef, wrapped in a warm, fluffy pita. The succulent layers of meat are complemented by vibrant vegetables and a generous drizzle of flavorful sauces, creating a harmonious and satisfying taste .The juiciness of the meat and the medley of spices contribute to its overall deliciousness.“
“We’ve been eating here for 12+ years. The quality and freshness has stayed on point. Everything here is homemade without any preservatives. Hands down the best Mediterranean food in the city and we especially love the East Coast Style Donair plate.“
“Wow! I've been disappointed so many times, wasting my money on over priced garbage food. Sultans was no waste! The food was amazing!!! The service was great! The price was on point. I can't wait to bring my kids here. I will drive 1 hour and bit just to eat here! Amazing food!!“
“Kababia is just up the street from where we live and I got to say it’s such a great place to have in the neighbourhood. I got two platters I got the smaller platter which I think is about $67 and the large platter which is $99 and I got the add-ons of the falafels, fries and the potatoes $13 xtra. It also comes with hummus, a garlic sauce, hot sauce & tahini, lots of fresh pita as well. I wish I took pictures of it, but everybody dug into it before I even had a chance (there is many photos of the platters in other reviews). They make fresh to order which I love and the owner Abdul is very approachable and he can help you sort out what you need especially if you have vegetarians, he said he can even separate the meat from all the rice and the veggies on the platter. I had 10 people mostly young adults (who eat a lot ) and we had leftovers for 4 lunches the next day that I packed up for take away !“
“So pleased with our dining experience Constantine Toronto. The Restaurant manager Rudra went out of her way to ensure we had an amazing dining experience. Stephen and Emma who served us for dinner and brunch were professional and fun all at the same time. The chefs are truly talented and it showed throughout the flavours of our meal choices. Cocktails from David and Ashley in the cocktail bar were also elevated and unique. I would highly recommend this Restaurant and look forward to our return Micheal and Shawn Cheers“
“First things first, when legends say Pita Land serves the best shawarma in town, they mean it! It’s loaded with the freshest chicken, salad, bread and topped with the sauciest sauces! ?We also tried our hands on their Falafel Hummus & Salad Bowl, the hot and earthy Lentil Soup, and the Chicken Wraps. Our special recommendation at Pita Land is their Chicken Kebab Plates – an assortment of Halal BBQ Chicken kebab, served with rice and garlic potato – this one is a must-try with your special ones, it’ll only bring you closer! ☺️ The food feels fulfilling to the core, and equally satisfying to taste buds, which speaks volumes about centuries of Middle Eastern traditions. Pita Land’s warm & hearty service, generous & affordable portions is also a testament to the rich familial culture passed on from generations, and it's inspiring!“
“Made a catering order for our office - super easy to make and the food arrived on time - fresh and hot. Everyone loved the wraps and the packaging was great! Will definitely order again!Dietary restrictions: They followed instructions and gave sauces on the side as one employee had allergies“
“My chicken shawarma wrap was really good and left me satisfied, but the interior of the restaurant had pretty clearly not been cleaned in a long time, which was a bit uncomfortable. The service was not particularly personable, but got the job done. If you're eating here, I recommend planning to take out.“
“The service at Tahini's is always very warm and welcoming. Additionally, the taste and the quality of the food never disappoint. A regular fix for our shawarma and falafel cravings.Vegetarian options: Has a range of veg options in all their dishes.“
“I love eating at Paramount restaurants and eating their food at home. It is an amazing establishment with so many healthy and delicious menu items. I especially admire the owner and staff and their dedication to helping feed the hungry in our cities. I will always support Paramount Fine Foods!“
“Check out @bredgyeats for more delicious food pics!Beef Shawarma Salad - another nice quick lunch with no shortage of ingredient types, including a tabouleh salad, chick peas, beets and hummus, all topped off with beef shawarma and some hot sauce“
“Super generous with the portion and everything tastes so good and fresh! Both the chicken and beef were tender. Fair price considering the overall quality and it’s enough to cover two meals. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly, exceptional service. Highly recommend. Great spot in the neighborhood, will come back!“
“Pizza Pan Restaurant offers a satisfying experience in every respect. First of all, the location of the restaurant is quite central and easily accessible. The interior decoration of the restaurant is warm and inviting, making your meal more enjoyable. The staff is extremely professional and welcoming. Our orders were taken and served quickly. The waiters visited us frequently throughout our meal to meet our needs, which made the experience even more special. The menu is quite diverse and offers an option to appeal to everyone's taste. Their pizzas were really delicious and prepared with fresh ingredients. The atmosphere of the restaurant offers a friendly and relaxing environment. A truly enjoyable atmosphere was created. As a result, Pizza Pan Restaurant is a place that can definitely be recommended with its quality food, friendly atmosphere and excellent service. We will enjoy every moment we spent here and can't wait to visit again!“
“The quality and variety of food was exceptional, but the speed of service was unfortunately slow during the lunch hour. There were 8 people ahead of me in line and it appeared to be cafeteria style with the meat and sides all ready, but it took more than 20 minutes before I was able to pay for and enjoy my very delicious food.“
“Mohammed at Alibaba is a true culinary virtuoso. His wraps, falafels, and Shawarma are exceptional, reflecting not only his skill but also the genuine warmth of Jordanian hospitality. Each bite carries the unmistakable touch of love, care, and respect. An enchanting culinary journey that beautifully captures the essence of Middle Eastern excellence! Find this delightful experience at 1430 Queen Street.“
“Neighbourhood fixture for at least 3 decades. Definitely dine in, not take-out. Many small dishes usually shared by diners. About five dishes per diner is usually about right. Able to cover vegetarian & gluten-free; vegan slightly more limited but you'll still do fine.“
“Initially, I was going to review this place much lower but I got the sense that they were genuinely kind and great people. I live quite far away and dont get to travel downtown often. But when I do, I always look forward to the food and I was craving a chicken shawarma poutine. This came up as a well reviewed place for chicken shawarma poutine and so I went to try it and as soon as I got in through the door I was greeted with a cheerful and charismatic Hi. I specifically asked if they had chicken shawarma poutine and she nodded then proceeded to punch in my order. When I got it, I noticed that there wasn't any cheese or gravy on the poutine and asked “there is no gravy on the poutine?” And the guy answered back that this dish had enough flavour. I was actually quite disappointed since I was really looking forward to an actual chicken shawarma poutine with gravy and cheese so it honestly had a pretty big impact on my day. But the food was delicious and afterwards one of the workers offered me a free Falafel and said that it was most delicious when eaten fresh and it definitely was. That small gesture really turned the experience around. The food was still good and not too salty, but if youre looking for a shawarma poutine then this is not the place for it. The meal that I got should have been appropriately called Chicken shawarma fries or chicken shawarma on fries“
