I don't eat my Mother's home made eggplant but it's the first thing I order off the menu. My favorite dish is the hummus with meat. Delicious homemade garlicky hummus with filet mignon and pine nuts in the middle. Yummy!!“

“I went to Ali Baba's for dinner and I ordered a Chicken Platter. The amount of food they gave especially the chicken was incredible. Everything tasted good and I was pleased when they reheated the potatoes on the grill for me. The store environment was clean and nice, (a typical shawarma restaurant) but the would made this particular spot great was the tissue boxes on each of the tables. This was great, especially compared to any other restaurants that will offer 2 small napkins that are almost transparent. Customer service was great, very friendly. I would go back again for sure.

The portion was generous, the chicken was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy. The combination of rice and salad complemented the flavors beautifully. “This restaurant is quite a local Hangout for most of the cultural community in the area. It's been around for over a hundred years but unfortunately it's a Creamery and the best you can do is toast pastries, creamery items coffee etc. but no meat. So if you're looking for bacon and eggs or steak and eggs forget it. Still good food if you're hungry at a reasonable price and one of the few restaurants in the area. The best part of this restaurant from my perspective is the bakery. My review initially was on the restaurant but since then I drop in a couple a times a week to stock up on rye bread be it with kimmel, plain or pumpernickel. Another unique thing is the sizes of their loaves. They make small loaves of rye that are terrific when you just want a small snack with hummus or meat. Now as well they have a terrific selection of danish open face with lemon, apple, blue berrie, cherry as well as turnovers and muffins. But the best part is if you get there at 8.00 am all these items day olds are half price.“

“This is the third time I’ve been here, and I have to say that the food and the service is beyond exceptional. Honestly speaking, this is the best in its category of cuisine. The meat was so tender it was falling off the bone, made fresh, and tastes amazing. The rice is always tasty topped with friend onions generously. Provided us with complimentary tomato soup, and it was honestly the best I’ve ever had.

The Adana kebab was particularly juicy, and the chicken shawarma had a unique flavor that I hadn’t encountered before—it was truly delightful. The shish kebabs were tender, and the beef shawarma was also well-prepared. The meal was so delicious, I couldn't resist having seconds!

The service was exceptional. Both the owner and his employee were attentive, friendly, and made the dining experience pleasant and engaging. The decor added to the charm of the place with its minimalistic Kurdish-themed elements, including historical site photos, traditional dinnerware, kilim bags, and tablecloths. The background Kurdish music performances on TV further enhanced the atmosphere. I also appreciated the Amedspor scarf proudly displayed, reflecting the owner's love for his hometown and the capital of Kurdistan. When I moved to Canada I never had a same taste of Shawarma. But the taste was from Fantastic was awesome. They have variety of sauces and filling. More over direct cutting from oven ... that makes different from other shawarma shops..“

“We dined in on a Saturday night. We had comfortable seating at the front of the restaurant. We were worried about bringing our baby but it was fine. They sat us at the corner and we left our stroller in the corner. Definitely friendly to families.

We went as part of Summerlicious and got to try several different items for a great price: appetizers dokka and bissara, mains koshari and ful and tameya, and both konafa desserts. Service was excellent. The front of house was quick and attentive, and special thanks to the chef who explained a bit about the dishes and gave his recommendation on how best to enjoy them.
