It was cooked medium rare which made it even better. The Dessert was recommended by the staff, The Spiced Parsnip Cake. It probably was the best dessert we’ve had all year as we did not know what to expect. The staff and atmosphere were also amazing !!!! Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.”

Margaritas were amazing (not on menu but it is a Mexican restaurant). The ceviche was so good we ordered a second one. I never order pork at restaurants and rarely eat it - but it was amazing. Side salad was so flavorful and the desserts were fantastic. They just earned a Michelin star and I can see why!!”

“My wife and I visited here at the suggestion of one of the Doormen at our hotel. Probably the best meal we had while in Toronto. My wife had white meat Jerk Chicken and I had the Oxtail Stew, with a side of Fried Plantains and we both had the Chubby's Slaw. Everything was delicious, but the rice and peas was bit bland, however the sauce from our entree's easily overcame that. Overall, a wonderful dining experience.”

But they did offer a pasta that is dried from the sea breeze with the natural salt from the water / wind making a profound difference in the texture and flavour. Definitely worth the experience overall and the a la carte menu has great options for a great price.Great wine and caviar menus.Jeff the manager is the best!!!!Make sure you get a photo in the washroom with the window of the city as your backdrop ?”

We were there to celebrate a special occasion and couldn't have asked for anything better.We were there for almost 2 hours, but service was wonderful and attentive throughout and the dishes in the tasting menu were all so unique and special.We arrived shortly after they opened on a weekday evening and the restaurant was pretty quiet. Because of that, Chef Liu came out and served us a bonus dish that ended up being our favourite of the night. Definitely made our experience a memorable one.”

Overall the dishes can be a bit too sweet for my liking. The sweetness is subtle at first, i only started realizing that later on as more dishes are served and i found myself thinking oh this is getting a bit heavy. Still really enjoyed my experience at lake Inez! It’s quickly becoming one of mg favourite spots in the city.”

“Hands down the best eggs Benedict I've ever had!!!! The braised beef eggs Benedict is out of this world. The creaminess of the hollandaise sauce pairs excellently with the umami taste of the braised beef with just enough salt and bitterness in the background. Potatoes were cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Perfect amount of seasoning on them. No use for the ketchup provided. One of the few breakfast place that garnishes their Benedict plates with fruit as well. A nice little touch of color for presentation. Service was friendly. Our food came out quite quickly as well. Quite a large diner, especially considering where it's located. I will definitely be coming back to try other menu items. (First of all their other eggs Benedict options.) I can definitely see why this establishment has even there since 1940.”

My husband, knowing my great love of Swiss Chalet, planned a surprise 60th birthday party for me when we were visiting Toronto at this place. He had worked together with the owner, Anisur Salim, in secret without me having a clue. When I arrived, everything was so well organized, the restaurant had beautiful balloons for me and even donated a birthday cake! There were about 40 of us there that evening and the owner made sure everything went off so smoothly and the food was delicious! He was very attentive and was happy to have been working with my husband on this surprise. Thank you so, so much for all of your hard work to create such a beautiful evening for me! It was absolutely perfect!”

This restaurant offers private and personal dining experience that is hard to find in Toronto. The restaurant is small with only 9 seats. We dined with another couple and each group got one server and the host was also taking care of us. The service is excellent and meeting my expectations. We tried the spring menu this time and I love the aged blue fin tuna, squid,monkfish liver, and Hokkaido sea urchin. The portion size is small but you can't feel hungry as you get many dishes. The food is high in quality and sourced from Japan. The chef skills are amazing and he has a great sense of humor. I will definitely comeback to try the menu in different seasons. Star of the show were the fish courses !! definitely above and beyond! The staff made sure we had everything as needed ! The instant polaroid camera was a nice addition to my birthday celebration.Things to work on:- Some of the servers did not know the dishes very well so we did not understand it fully until the menu was handed out.- There were additional charges to truffles that were not discussed. The server asked us if we wanted truffles as the taste may not be everyone’s cup of tea but failed to declare it’s at extra costs. Only found out when paying the bill.- The dessert course did not stand out like any Michelin star restaurant. I was disappointed. Very ordinary flavors and simple intake.- Tables too but for small seating. Please consider having smaller tables for part of 2!”

Each sushi was unique to its own with specific ingredients procured from different regions of the world. Time passed by too quickly as I could’ve eaten more. Given the process of serving food, dining etiquette was at first confusing for a first time noob like myself but I quickly adapted to the experienced patrons near me. The staff here is also exceptionally kind as my wife mentioned it was my birthday and the chef presented me an extra piece of sushi with a candle. Turns out you can also let them know ahead of time and they’ll generously prepare a piece of birthday cake. All in all it was a great experience and a definite recommendation for sushi lovers and foodies alike.”

The good was amazing, everything was fresh. The sea bream ceviche and chips was so refreshing, and the shishito peppers are super tasty. “My rating: 9.5/10. This is one of the best two tacos I’ve had in Toronto. Food was amazing, super fresh, great ingredients, and very authentic. The prices were a little high though at $7.50 for a single taco, so despite the great quality that made it a 9.5 instead of a 9.6 for me. Atmosphere was fun and casual, but they only have standing counter “seats”, no chairs or places to sit down. Staff were very friendly and easy going. Overall, I really enjoyed the food and would go back, but there are one or two small things that could be slightly better. Would recommend trying it at least once though.Vegetarian options: Not many vegetarian options. Star of the show were the fish courses !! definitely above and beyond! The staff made sure we had everything as needed ! The instant polaroid camera was a nice addition to my birthday celebration.Things to work on:- Some of the servers did not know the dishes very well so we did not understand it fully until the menu was handed out.- There were additional charges to truffles that were not discussed. The server asked us if we wanted truffles as the taste may not be everyone’s cup of tea but failed to declare it’s at extra costs. Only found out when paying the bill.- The dessert course did not stand out like any Michelin star restaurant. I was disappointed. Very ordinary flavors and simple intake.- Tables too but for small seating. Please consider having smaller tables for part of 2!”

I could not think of a dish I didn’t like! Highly recommend the tartar, potato pancake and banana milk tiramisu.The atmosphere is also perfect for date nights, casual and special occasions. Great variety of ceviche, and all the home style favourites are on their menu including lomo saltado (pictured) and pollo a la brasa. We also had the beef medallions which were so tender and flavourful, as well as the squid ink risotto which came loaded with seafood.”
“Came here for dinner. Had the barbecue ranch burger with a side of dragon fries. The two onion rings inside the burger was fantastic. My burger was quite tall with it so I had to remove one and eat it alone. But with the one still inside, it gave it a nice crunch. I also want to commend Ivan our server. He recommended the dragon fries and the ginger ale drink. The peppers on the dragon fries were amazing and added a nice level of heat. Both were amazing. He got the vibe and did his job proper.For food, we got one creamy mushroom pasta, the smoked salmon pasta, as well as a margarita pizza. The pasta was SO creamy and the texture was perfect. The menu has an excellent selection of fish & seafood prepared in many variations, not to mention fish is flown in from Portugal. The staff are attentive and the maître d as well as hostess provide a refined level of service . I thoroughly enjoyed Grilled filet of Grouper cherry tomato, jalapeño salsa and a Portuguese beer . “If I could give service 10 stars I would. A friend and I went for dinner and our server was so sweet and attentive. Just one example of the excellent service we received: while we were sitting in the back covered patio, she noticed I put on a sweater. She immediately turned on the heaters and came over to let us know, in case I was feeling cold. It’s small moments like that, that really make you feel taken care of. My only regret is not leaving a bigger tip. I’ll definitely have to return and offer more next time.As for the atmosphere, the place was full and lively but didn’t feel overly crowded or loud. The space itself I would describe it as unpretentious but still felt refined.Finally, the food. We ended up getting a main AND an app of the beef tartare since it was so delicious, as well as the trout which was cooked beautifully. To be honest pretty much everything on the menu called out to us. We also got a salted chocolate mousse that we shared and it was a perfect way to end our meal. “All I can say is - AMAZING. We initially wanted to order a few dishes to try out, but realized there was a tasting menu that they offered. Bar Isabel doesn't tell you much of the tasting menu, and it's a very interesting concept, but I can confidently say that everything about it was amazing. You basically give the waiters an estimate of how much you want to spend on the tasting menu, and if you have any food restrictions, and they will bring out the dishes off the menu that they think you will like.Everything about this experience was so memorable. The good was amazing, everything was fresh. The sea bream ceviche and chips was so refreshing, and the shishito peppers are super tasty. I could go on and on about how incredible everything was (the food, the server was INCREDIBLE by accommodating all of the dishes we wanted to try), but I think the best way to experience everything is just go and try. We went here for our anniversary, and they even brought us a little dessert with the sign.WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK SOON.”

“This place is special. We tried it in summer 2023, and it blew our minds. We've been back multiple times since then. We celebrated a special birthday here, and it was so good I took my mom here for her 60th. In her words, it was "the best culinary experience of her life". Frank's ever-changing vision of his menu is not only inspiring to home cooks like myself, but jaw dropping with what he offers - and no two visits have the same menu. The staff are lovely, unpretentious and ensure you feel at home when dining with them. And don't get me started on their wine list. I'd give them 10/5 if I could. “They are the Ontarian Olive Garden substitute for good italian food. But where Oive Garden hav lost the plot, east side marios have upped their game since when they years ago. Their menu provides you ample variety without confusing you too much. They have great Veg and non vegetarian options. Their all you can eat salads and soup with bread is a great option if you want to eat something light and healthy (Depending on your selection of soups and salad). They have a very good selection of drinks both alc & non-alc. The ambience isn't great but it is good. The pricing is also spot on which makes it good value for money. The staff serves with a smile. First of all, the atmosphere is so reminiscing of small neighbourhood cafes in Lisbon, where everyone speaks Portuguese, watched football and have a pleasant conversation with basically every visitor.Secondly, food. One of the best places in Toronto in terms of the ratio of the portions’ size, taste and price. I had a beef steak with an egg and fries, and it was absolutely delicious.Thirdly, the staff is super friendly.All in all, if I could give this place 10 starts, I would.”

“I was excited to hear about a place that serves Halifax style donairs so I was real anticpating this one. Now I am not disappointed but feel that are differences between the two I say this because I was born in Halifax, N.S. and donairs is #1 thing that people love. The difference is the thickness of the sauce, thickness of the pita and there is no lettuce added to a traditional donair just white onions and tomatoes to round it out. With these few changes to there donair you can say it would make it more authentic. These donairs are delicious and flavourful.”

As an example, when she brought us water she still hadn't brought us cups which normally wouldn't be a big deal but then she brought 3 cups over then took one away to bring to another table even though there was 3 of us sitting at the table ? it was almost so bad that it was more funny then anything else. The sauce station was also never stocked properly. Missing ingredients every time we went over. Highly recommend figuring out a better system for that for better customer experience.”

Our waitress was fantastic, as well as everyone who stopped by the table. Everybody was very knowledgeable. The food was evenly timed out because we did order everything. They made sure that we didn't have a lot of food on the table to get cold beverages were fantastic. Vibe was Vibin. I know they said this was Hawaiian inspired not a lot of dishes gave me that feeling however, Asia has a big influence on these dishes. Regardless, definitely should be on your list to try. Must try dishes or the pork belly because that dipping sauce is amazing. Currently trying to replicate it at home. I also recommend the kimchi dip and the mushroom skewers were fantastic!!
