“St. john’s tavern is my overall favorite bar/resturant, one of my favorite parts is the funny duo behind the bar Haley and Al, their honestly my entertainment every saturday night, their playful banter is everything, and are some of the funniest people i’ve ever met, they never cease to make me cackle while also encouraging me to try new drinks while also always topping me off. owe it to you guys LOL.“
“Fantastic, went with my husband during winterlicious and we were pleasantly surprised by the taste, presentation and creativity. The drinks were lovely, service was friendly, attentive, you feel at ease and comfortable immediately. We went back a few times after, because we know it will not be disppointing and get to have quality food.“
“The food is out of this world!!! We went last night, chicken tikka, stuffed Yorkie fish and chips. All are the best in category. How is that even possible? Somehow they have knocked all of them outta the park. Even had live music ❤️“
“Visited for the first time last night and had a wonderful experience. The restaurant is whimsically decorated giving it a really fun atmosphere. Very Alice in Wonderland! I had the duck entree and it was delicious. The service was fantastic as well despite it being very busy. My friend and I decided we definitely have to go back very soon! I’m looking forward to trying more things on the menu.“
“Great food and service. I have been a loyal customer for years. The food is simple but always well done. That really good price is in Daily specials. There's lots of seating and different types of arrangements. The service are always honest about what's working well in the kitchen that day.“
“Sunday roast was great, enjoyed a lot!)Fish and chips: classics and was also good. What I did Not like:1) waiter forgets to bring beers but asks how was the food.2) after reminder waiter brings drink and immediately asks how was the food.Let people 5 min to eat!)Mostly lovely place, a bit pricy (50cad per person for main and a drink).Kid-friendliness: We saw some father's came with kids 2-4 y.o. and they all enjoyed“
“We are giving the new owners a chance to get their bearings. We have been back a few times since the changeover, both for beer and a meal. The club sandwich is better than before. The burger was good, but hopefully they will go back to serving good french fries instead of the nasty coated fries they switched to.Beer selection is still good, and they still bring in a cask ale, so that's a big plus.Sadly, the Scotch selection didn't move over to the new ownership.“
“Fantastic little pub with an authentic feel. The staff make you feel right at home. Every once in awhile they bring out samples of different food items from their menu...everything has been so tasty. Fish tacos, hamburger, fries.. are my go-to. If you like beer, their own Duke beer is fantastic. They also have at least 4 different non-alcoholic beers including Guinness 0 which is like 98% similar to regular Guinness.Cheers“
“We had our event tonight which was a fundraiser for FIFE house at Churchmouse Firkin on the second floor and it was amazing. We had over 55 people attend and everyone has been raving about it all night. Thank you to Mackenzie and your team for the amazing service. Food was hot and fresh and was served promptly. We raised money for people living with and at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and had sone great laughs. We will be back again next year.“
“The staff work super hard to provide a positive experience to everyone, and they deserve recognition. This is a great space to watch a UFC title fight, provided that you're okay missing the preliminaries (because you're waiting for the hockey to end). There was a $30 minimum spend per patron, which wasn't hard to reach given that the food is delicious. The Fox is a surprisingly cosy pub, and a great place to bring friendsVegetarian options: There are plenty of appealing vegetarian optionsDietary restrictions: I cannot eat dairy, and had no struggle finding options without cheeseWheelchair accessibility: Not a wheelchair-friendly space; it's Midtown Toronto“
“We had a reservation and they got us sat super quickly. The food was great and our server Kaitlyn was super accommodating of my friend who is celiac.I would definitely come here again.Dietary restrictions: They have separate menus so you know that anything you’re ordering is gluten-free, vegetarian or vegan. They were willing to bake my friend’s wings to prevent them from being cross-contaminated in the deep fryer, which was so lovely.“
“A group of us came down from Ottawa for the restaurant show and noted some spots to try while there. House on Parliament was top of mind, as we run a group of pubs. We were sat in the upstairs and were served by the lovely Matthew Middleton (cousin of Kate) and he was top notch. He went along with our annoying restaurant jokes and jabs, he was thoughtful in recommendations, efficient - and I believe our operations manager tried to poach him at one point. Excellent food, excellent experience - we'll be back next time we're in Toronto!“
