“Dining in was an unforgettable experience, greatly enhanced by our waiter, Dee, whose service was exceptional. She guided us through the menu with expertise, suggesting dishes like fresh sashimi, and irresistible grilled octopus.Dee's attentiveness made our visit special. She ensured our glasses were always full and our table laden with delectable dishes. Her passion and knowledge about the cuisine added a personal touch that made our dining experience stand out.In short, the restaurant is a gem worth visiting for its delicious food and outstanding service, especially from Dee. We left promising to return soon.“
“The ramen was delicious. Highly recommend the pork with an egg. My grandmother has a gluten allergy so it was nice to have the option of the potato noodles. Oddly I really liked their bathrooms as they were playing older Japanese music and there was mouthwash to use“
“Great selection of beer knowledgeable staff. Great food. Sometimes too busy so go to sauce for a drink while on the wait list find out what band is playing so you can go back after dinner!! Burger is great one of the best in the city. Mozzarella sticks are unique.“
“Love love love this place!Staff are always kind and welcoming. Great beer selection.Delicious pub food - my go-tos are the burger, wings, pretzel with beer cheese and the Mac and cheese (I'd recommend sharing this one as it is quite rich)The restaurant has a cozy vibe despite being a larger space and in the summertime their patio is pup friendly.“
“Best fried calamari I’ve had, even better than a few of the fine dining places I’ve been to lately, this pub knows how to cook their calamari to perfection. It was tender and served hot. Seasoning was just right. They have a Nash chicken sandwich that uses 2 pcs of battered chicken with cheese and bacon (schnitzel) as buns, no bun needed if you’re in a keto diet or avoiding bread! And then served with a side of salad. Plentiful. $21.The soup of the day was a tomato vegetable soup which was quite good, the tomatoes were roasted. There were more than enough vegetables in the soup to make it heart. Flavour was on point. They have a good beer menu as well.Service was excellent, attentive, friendly and professional.I had been wanting to try this pub for the last 2 decades and never did for whatever reason but, I’m glad that I finally did get to try it. The food is better than I expected.I will return.“
“I had a great meal at Ruby Soho! The food was good, nothing great, service was phenomenal, and the atmosphere made ruby great. Good music and cool interior made a great atmosphere to have a meal. I ordered the wagu beef burger and my only complaint is that it did not have lettuce and onions, other than that it was a delicious burger. Overall, I would recommend eating here!“
“One of my favourite bars in the city! Unassuming and easy to miss if walking by, but definitely worth a stop. They have a ton of beers on tap along with a good selection of cocktails and other craft cans/bottles. They have 3 pool tables which are pay by the minute and usually has a long wait on weekend evening, but aside from that they're usually available. While I mostly come here for drinks a pool, their food is delicious too! Typical items you'd expect from a pub menu but executed at a step above most others.Love the cozy environment, ample seating along with a fire place for those colder winter nights. Service is always friendly and attentive.Definitely a great date spot or to have some drinks with friends.Highly recommend!“
“The Old York Tavern suddenly finds itself amongst million dollar studio condos and has updated itself accordingly. Only a 3 wait staff are needed to cover the tiny trapezoidal footprint, but all were friendly and knowledgeable on the menu and wine list. Small shareable dishes were flavorful, with the lime and pepper shallot calamari being a standout. Limited selection might prevent a second visit amongst the growing options in the 'hood.“
“Have been coming here almost daily for coffee since moving into the neighborhood five years ago. The staff are like family and go out of their way to treat my children with kindness and enthusiasm. Coffee is Detour and there is no charge for alternative milks. I miss when they had a lunch/dinner menu! But the snacks and pastries they have now are really good also. My favourite back patio in the city.“
“Mugshot has been a regular visit for us for close to 10 years. Always friendly. Accommodating to kids. The food is excellent. We are glad it’s closed to home. Plus the actual mugshots are always entertaining. On our latest visit I had the cowboy burger, my wife had the perrogies and pulled pork and our son had popcorn chicken. I like the small touches like the old style mugs for pop. Good place to sit and watch hockey as well. Oh and based on previous visits they do a great job on sweet potato fries. Just the right texture.“
“Very cozy neighborhood haunt. Expansive food menu that it shares with sister restaurant Botham's (next door). We had the sourdough pizza and latkes, both delicious. They also have a huge drink menu, beer, ciders, cocktails etc. Don't come here with a group bigger than 4 or 6.“
“This place is truly a gem! First of all, the food is AMAZING. Home cooked and delicious. Had wings, crab rangoon, and shrimp wontons tonight and they were the best food I've had in a long time. The owners are incredibly sweet and attentive, the ultimate bar parents. Lastly, this place really has a sense of community where everyone belongs. Great place to listen to live music on a Saturday night. Will definitely be coming here more regularly!“
“Seeing stars after a night at the Monarch. A win on almost everything, especially the food. After an assortment of sliders with the rosemary fries I asked to speak to the chef to let him know how delicious it was. Attentive, friendly bar staff actually seemed to like being at work and interacting with guests. Eclectic music was loud enough to add a vibe but could still hear others talk. Despite Toronto getting a massive dump of snow that night, It filled up - and it was worth braving the elements.“
“You don't have to be scottish to enjoy a visit. 600 whiskeys, some from distilleries that closed so limited stock. Staff and owner are very welcoming. Haggis, deep fried Mars bars, and much more. My wife said it was like her diet when she grew up near Edinburgh. Brilliant place, going back many times“
“The BBQ chicken in Eglinton was soo clean and have very accommodating staff! Food is really good especially the cheeseling flavor! It is so addicting, after that night we asked our friend to buy us next day and then now I had to have it delivered at work since I want it soo bad. TRY it cause it's really yummy! Cheeseballs are great too!“
“We had our staff party here and it was a blast! Henry made the booking process seamless and took the time to answer all of our questions. Only down side is that the entrance is a bit hard to find. Will definitely be returning without the kids :)“
“FoodInitially, our visit was motivated by Winterlicious, but a small oversight on our part led to the realization that it was offered only on certain days. Despite this hiccup, we embraced the experience and delved into their regular menu. I chose the Eggs Benedict, and it lived up to my expectations: light yet satisfyingly savory and greasy, filling without being extraordinary. It was a classic dish executed well. My companions and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals, finding comfort in the familiar and well-prepared dishes.ServiceOur server was a paragon of professionalism—friendly, well-informed, and eager to recommend his favorites. Despite the restaurant bustling with activity, he and the rest of the staff managed the flow with remarkable efficiency. Their hard work and dedication to providing a seamless dining experience did not go unnoticed.Ambiance and DecorThe restaurant boasts a charmingly vintage ambiance that transports you to another era. Incandescent bulbs bathe the space in a warm, yellow light, enhancing the extensive use of wood and period-appropriate decor. It’s a place that feels like it has been a cornerstone of the community for generations, inviting patrons into a cozy, nostalgic embrace.AccessibilityProspective guests should note the presence of stairs leading into the restaurant, coupled with somewhat narrow internal passageways. This setup might present challenges for some, highlighting areas where accessibility could be improved.“
“I met friends here for drinks and food and was shocked and delighted to arrive and see the sandwich board out front advertising pints of indie Ale House Instigator IPA on special for $6. All day long.In my experience of reading sandwich boards in Toronto, fancy bars and dive bars alike are pretty stingy with their happy hours, usually offering a deal on one of their most boring, flavorless beers.I don't know if this IPA promo is a one-off for the John or not, but kudos to them for satisfying our tastebuds and stretching our beer dollar on this visit. We won't forget. To no one's surprise, we had 3 beers each. We also ordered a lot of food. I had the John burger ($17), which was really good. The patty was simple and meaty, good toppings and a bun that fit the burger and didn't overwhelm it. Fries were decent and I appreciated that they came out hot. Others ordered wings and sausage on a bun and dill fries. Everyone was happy. The service was super relaxed and friendly. Patrons seemed jovial and a few were pretty wasted, which added to the lively atmosphere. A fun night had by all.“
“the service here is phenomenal! came in through the week after a tough few days and johnny was the highlight of my week. he made sure my friend and i were comfortable when i mentioned some people at the bar were making us uncomfortable, really got to know us and gave great advice. i’ll 100% be back and i hope i get to see johnny again!“
“Amazing neighborhood bar with dependable food and service. The food selection and quality is above a normal bar so this is often a local go to for people want a comfortable atmosphere and good food and drinks. If you're in the neighborhood, highly recommend.“
“A cozy, friendly, quaint pub with delicious food, wonderful staff and a owner who cares is what Shakey's is. Go there soon, you will be happy you did. :) _______________ Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got. Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same You wanna be where everybody knows Your name. You wanna go where people know, people are all the same, You wanna go where everybody knows your name.“
“St. john’s tavern is my overall favorite bar/resturant, one of my favorite parts is the funny duo behind the bar Haley and Al, their honestly my entertainment every saturday night, their playful banter is everything, and are some of the funniest people i’ve ever met, they never cease to make me cackle while also encouraging me to try new drinks while also always topping me off. owe it to you guys LOL.“
“For those who like a good pub with its own beer production, good food, good location and accessibility ♿️ this is definitely the right place.Granite is very well located on Avenida Egliton, close to many shops, private parking, public parking and the metro station. The brewery has an outdoor area for the spring and summer periods, a bar lounge area, and an indoor area with a fireplace.Local production takes place right there at the brewery, and you can see the boilers when you go to the washrooms.Speaking of accessibility: the house has an accessible entrance with a spring door, but without automatic activation (which makes it difficult for wheelchair users, users of crutches or walkers to enter. They have an adapted bathroom with support bars and spring doors (the bathroom door it also requires automatic opening). All the sink taps are automatic and so is the waste disposal container. They have no internal steps and the tables are spacious for aligning supports for walking.I asked the restaurant when the menu was in Braille, but the attendant couldn't answer me, so the person I was with needed my help with the order. The service at the house is very pleasant, but now at the end of the year, everything is very busy and it may take a while for you to be served at the table. They have their own store, with souvenir items and beers to take home or as a gift. The menu is wonderful and the fish and cheaps is certainly one of the best I've ever tasted. For those thinking of going with children, the restaurant has seats for older children and high chairs for younger ones, as well as a children's menu for lunch and brunch. It's really worth visiting, especially since the beers are great.Vegetarian options: They have a menu with snacks without the addition of animal products, as well as salads, pasta and portions of cheese, fries and onions.Parking: Parking lots are public parking lots on the street, where you need to park your car in a space and enter the amount of time you will stay. If it passes, you need to update the application. They also have covered parking in some buildings in the region and cost on average 15 dollars an hourKid-friendliness: They have a menu for children, both for lunch and brunch. And they have a seat adapted for older children and a high chair for babies.Wheelchair accessibility: They have adapted bathrooms with support bars, no internal or external steps, tables that accommodate wheelchairs and other items to support mobility. Doors use springs, I don't try to activate them automatically“
“One of the best spots near Bloor. The restaurant has great food and a big beer/wine/cocktail/mocktail menu. Service is consistently fantastic and the patio is amazing. A really great secret (and affordable) spot for folks downtown or in the Annex!“
“Was at an event at Mattamy Centre and came across this place. And what a find! It is a cool, quant, chic little spot; almost something a different era. Saw in another review that the nacho were awesome and they were right. Tried the chicken tinga and another hit. Lots of different beers you do not see elsewhere. Also, if you are into cocktails they've got you covered. This is a true local pub/bar not a chain joint and it delivers.“
“I'm so happy to have a BBQ near my house.Eglincheon branch is so crispy and delicious!!!You must eat Korean chicken here!!They even confirmed that the beer was low in carbonation and prepared a new one for me. They were so kind. You can get Korea fried chicken No.1 here!!!!❤️?“
“Was greeted like a local by Heather who looked after us royally, even sourcing a mug despite initially saying they had none. The extensive menu catered more than adequately for our lunch which arrived speedily and was delicious along with a couple of pints of Guinness. Would thoroughly and happily recommend. Only sorry I probably won't have to time to return.“
“We have been to MoK a few times now and I will say they are consistently great! Friendly welcomes and service to start. Then there is the food. FANTASTIC! We ordered the Scotch Egg to start and their 2-for-1 special with the Fish & Chips and the Curry Chicken Pie.The Scotch Egg was excellent, especially with a pint. The Fish is the best I've had in the City and spoils you for others attempts. The Tartar Sauce is made in house and I think they could jar and sell it on its own.Their Pie's are also on point. Lots of flavor. Their chef is clearly very talented. We intend to go back for their Sunday Roast specials in the near future.“
“First time here. Night started off with stimulating conversations. Bartender Sara was great! patrons were awesome. And to top it all off and quartet or a quintet were playing. So talented. Loved ever bit of the performance!!! Great live band! Thank you so much for making my evening.“
“I had a great time. Classic but nice decor. The food and drinks were tasty, but don't get the sweet potato soup, it was so sweet I couldn't even finish a third of it, my partner and another friend tried and they couldn't either. But the burger was phenomenal. My beer was really tasty too. Also not accessible as there are stairs getting up to the entrance. Also my partner is super picky about his food and ended up not getting anything to eat, but that's common for him so I'm not surprised about that.Overall it was fun, and I'd go back there again.“
“The atmosphere is great for an after work chit chat with your colleagues or with friends! I also recommend the French Dip sandwich, it tastes great, however the burgers are average.Ellen is a perfect server! She was caring and professional.Parking: Green P Parking“
“My friends and I went to this place last night. We were a group of 10, and the place was jammed pack. Our host, Andrew, did a great job managing the crowd and the food was great for the price point. We had a pleasant time and will definitely go back!“
“Super cute local spot. The interior is super cute and the patio looks like it would be good vibes in warmer weather.Great service and decent food. There is a good variety on the menu for whatever your mood. The drink menu has great options and the beer list is nice.I'd recommend this place if you're looking for a laid-back vibe.“
“A hopping place on Yonge St. Great stop in for lunch or dins. The specials board is creative and the menu has solid, well put together plates. Smoked salmon appetizer… to die for, and burgers cooked how you like them! A thoughtful kitchen with creative ideas and elevated standard fare. Not your average pub!“
“The Kitchen has reopened at the Kilt & Harp. The new Chef makes great food with extremely reasonable prices. We have so far tried the burgers, chicken wings, fish & chips and Greek salad. The portions are generous and the service is very friendly as always.“
“You absolutely HAVE to try their Ethiopian cuisine! At first glance, you'd be forgiven that this place is another one of those sports bars. It's nice, but you've been their before somehow. However the place come alive in the evening, especially on darts night. And then there's the food....droooooool! Tasty tasty thank you thank you ✌️“
“In a very well-demanded area, this bar might lead the pack: the interior is cozy and intimate, while the back patio is gorgeous! I tried an Australian Crabbie's ginger beer for the novelty (sweet and barely feels alcoholic, which is dangerous!) and will try other drinks when I come back!“
“This place is fantastic. They have 50 beers on tap, many of which are European beers. There's good variety so there's something for everyone. The food is fantastic, I've gone with two different groups of friends and everyone has really loved the food here.“
“***THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS***First they bake them, then they deep fry them, tossed in (Buffalo, recommend) then they are GRILLED!!! and served with real chunky blue cheese….. Monday’s it’s even wing night. Great local beers on tap, and always friendly bartenders! It’s my hidden gem on Roncy!“
“Located in the lobby of the One King building, Teller's acts as both the hotel's bar and restaurant. We were there luckily on a Thursday night and they had a live jazz band performing from 530-830, which was an unexpected delight. We started with drinks and apps by the bar and transitioned to one of their restaurant tables. The calamari and Korean chicken tacos were both really great. The calamari was tender and easy to eat, a far departure from the rubber bands one can get at the wrong place. The tacos were a generous size, with a great crunchy texture. If you come during their happy hour, the food is only 9.99! Very affordable. When our friends arrived we moved over to one of the high top tables thoughtfully reserved away from the band so we could actually chat. I had the truffle pizza and it was great. Only critique was that it took an hour to get our table of 8 all our mains, otherwise it would be 5 stars.“
“We had a gathering of around 35 people and needed a place to go. I called and got in touch with Glenn, Mel and the rest of the team at Another Bar. They were above and beyond to help make our event a success. They were all very nice, good people. The space was very well decor and had more than enough space for us. The food was yummy and there was Halal and Vegetarian options too. Pricing was very reasonable too. We will definitely come back again in the future when we are around the neighborhood.“
“The server girl on Tuesday night was so friendly and nice! And her recommendations worked for us! A huge thanks to her and all the nice/friendly staff! Now I'm a huge fan of their IPA beer. Def I will come back whenever I'm around dt area!!!! 10 out 10!!!“
“Went for St Patrick's lunch after the parade 11 of us had no problem scoring a table. The food was great! An added bonus was having Guinness on draft! Service attendant seemed a little unhappy that day however we had an amazing lunch. Food is great no matter what you order. The Irish stew, Steak kidney pie fish and chips was all delicious!“
“My fiancé and I went to this great pub for the first time last weekend before we went to a show. We love Elephant amd castle great food, great atmosphere loved the bars in the front and back and loved the layout of tye pub as well and looks authentic inside tye washrooms ate actually called the Lou to good sonif anyone is seeing Les Missrables this week or if you want a good place to eat lunch or dinner this is the place to be.“
“This is such a gem in our neighbourhood. Cozy, welcoming and always the perfect food for the moment, whether you just want a burger and fries or something fancier. A good selection of wine and beer too.Kid-friendliness: Families love it here.“
“?I am not the kind of person to go to a palace again and again?but here is The best place for chilling and having the best night ever, it’s cozy and gives you the feeling of home.?It was obvious that it had its own loyal customers,?It had The best vibe a pub can have? I ordered steak sandwich ? and beer and spinach dip.?my first beer was blue moon as usual which was good and the second was “strong bow”. Just order it if you like sweet fruity drinks. All of the staff were super friendly and caring and politeI really enjoyed my night and will definitely go back.“
“Still the best kept secret spot at Yonge and Eg. I've literally walked past here the past several years but finally decided to give it a try!Drinks are reasonaly priced and delish! Blues /Jazz/etc live bands, cozy ambiance, lots of space.. You can't really go wrong here. It's my new favorite spot in midtown!“
“Thirsty Fox is not just a regular bar. It’s that kind of special place where you can escape, at least for a short while, all the troubles and worries of the outside world, and feel happy. Their food is really good for a neighborhood pub. They have a variety of beers on tap and other liquor. Nice and friendly staff, especially Georgie.“
“The place is so different than the last day I came here. There’s less Izakaya and more like sushi bar menu. Service is good, the server is kind and explain in details about the food. The oyster is delicious, but I do miss the more Izakaya-kind of food.“
