“Fantastic experience at The Old York Tavern. I had never been, but my cousin recommended it and will 💯 be back. One of the best brunch patios I’ve been on, ever. Situated in more of a residential area, you are not getting the overstimulating hustle and bustle vibe of the city but more of a chill and quaint small town. The polarizing view of the CN tower was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the lobster Benedict and the French toast. Top notch!“

“Located within walking distance to the Royal Ontario Museum and easy to find. Everyone was super friendly, and the food was very good. Prices were fair. I would definitely come again if I am in the area. I had the grilled chicken club med bowl. The chicken was very tender (not dry at all) and the bowl was very light and well proportioned.“

“the auld spot is my go to on the danforth. i love the servers and the owner and the chef rob. the food is good and the cocktail , wine list , and craft beers are exceptional. there are also daily specials and in the summer they have a patio. just an easy friendly neighborhood place. the place is always full which speaks for the quality of the food and place“

“The service is excellent and waitstaff are very good and very friendly. Some of the food items though are not that great. I had the nachos one time, and wanted to order them with ground beef instead of chicken. When I got it, it was chunks of steak, not ground beef. If they had told me they didn't have ground beef I would have ordered something else. I also asked that they take out the jalapenos as I cannot eat them. It was COVERED with jalapenos and even some hidden in the cheese. I did not enjoy them and ate 1/4 of it. I should have sent it back but I already had substitutions and didn't want to be a trouble customer. At another visit I ordered the bruschetta. This is NOT bruschetta. It is on naan bread, not a traditional bun. Instead of chunks of tomatoes and onions, it was slices of tomato and a couple of slices of onion, and covered in feta cheese. That is not bruschetta, I was highly disappointed. They do have some great menu items, the goulash is outstanding as is the chicken linguine and shrimp pasta. Their onion soup is really good, the onion rings and poutine are also very good. I was just disappointed in the two dishes I had.“

“We decided to go there for a late lunch the other day after our Irish son-in-law suggested that this was possibly the best place in town to try an Irish spice bag. It certainly didn’t let us down. The food came fairly rapidly and was extremely fresh. Our waiter, Cameron was extremely helpful in recommending that the spice bag could easily satisfy two hungry adults. Washing this down with a nice pour of Guinness was the best thing you could imagine.

The atmosphere was terrific. There was a band playing in the background. They were doing contemporary music as a two-piece band. This made for a very enjoyable afternoon. We chose to stay at the back of the restaurant where it was a little quieter, enabling us to carry on a conversation.

“The Mezz is a great place to have a drink with friends. Gabe (bartender) was really nice and the service was amazing. I went on Jan 25 when the snowstorm hit so the kitchen was closed, but the drinks were great (cranberry juice with vodka is amazing). Staff were very kind and supportive when a man was bothering me, and I would definitely recommend this place for women who are alone (or anyone, really)!

“They don't serve food, just alcohol. They're ok with bringing food, mostly geared to UofT staff and students but they will serve anyone. I drank GSU (the pub's) lager for $5.45 CAD/pint (16oz) it's pretty good and so great in value. Check out the images.“

Food top notch. Today was a chicken club wrap and a Ruben.
Never had such crisp lettuce in a wrap. Ruben was made to perfection.
