“I have been going to ID love for some time now. One thing I can tell you is that the food is phenomenal! We ordered nwkobi, jollof rice, plantain and fried yam and it was delicious! We met the owner who was kind and interactive. The only thing I would change is the lighting as the restaurant is dimly lit and it's a bit difficult to see your food. Also some background music would be ideal as well. Overall, food was amazing.“

The open-faced toast was a highlight, piled high with vibrant salmon, capers, and pickled onions. Everything tasted as fresh as it looked. I also really enjoyed the perfectly crispy calamari served with those bright green peppers. It is the perfect spot for a delicious meal.“

“We stayed in the Annex for a couple of nights and went out for a walk one evening this week looking for a place to have dinner. Stumbled across this cozy pub with a nice backyard deck and were very glad to have done so. The server (I regret not getting his name) was INCREDIBLY kind and attentive, offering to get crayons and paper for our 5 year old daughter even though there was no kids menu, and then even drew a bunny - her favourite animal - by hand so she had something to colour. The food itself was good also, the fish and chips I had was cooked to perfection and my wife enjoyed her steak frites. We will definitely be returing here in future the next time we are in the area.“

“the auld spot is my go to on the danforth. i love the servers and the owner and the chef rob. the food is good and the cocktail , wine list , and craft beers are exceptional. there are also daily specials and in the summer they have a patio. just an easy friendly neighborhood place. the place is always full which speaks for the quality of the food and place“

“The service is excellent and waitstaff are very good and very friendly. Some of the food items though are not that great. I had the nachos one time, and wanted to order them with ground beef instead of chicken. When I got it, it was chunks of steak, not ground beef. If they had told me they didn't have ground beef I would have ordered something else. I also asked that they take out the jalapenos as I cannot eat them. It was COVERED with jalapenos and even some hidden in the cheese. I did not enjoy them and ate 1/4 of it. I should have sent it back but I already had substitutions and didn't want to be a trouble customer. At another visit I ordered the bruschetta. This is NOT bruschetta. It is on naan bread, not a traditional bun. Instead of chunks of tomatoes and onions, it was slices of tomato and a couple of slices of onion, and covered in feta cheese. That is not bruschetta, I was highly disappointed. They do have some great menu items, the goulash is outstanding as is the chicken linguine and shrimp pasta. Their onion soup is really good, the onion rings and poutine are also very good. I was just disappointed in the two dishes I had.“

“My 4yo wanted fries and nowhere on the strip offered them on their menu. Felt like an Oasis to find this spot (only bought the baked goods before) and dining in was lovely. Definitely not a spot to bring rambunctious kids, but mine was mellowed and the burger was proper, the staff were authentic and serviced us well. The vibe was indie and cute, very date night or catch up with friends energy. I'm a sober person but the drinks menu made me consider drinking again haha. These folks do food right. No weird experimental things on the menu. Just good options and actual potato fries! I will be back with adult friends, an my kid again too. Also appreciated the humor our server had. Apparently Tuesday is oyster night.“

The warm lighting inside was honestly better than anything I captured outside, that golden hour glow through the front windows had me wishing I'd brought my camera in. I ordered a chai latte and a butter croissant, both simple but genuinely good, and the staff were relaxed and friendly without being over the top. It's become my new go-to wind-down spot after a shoot in the area.“

“The Mezz is a great place to have a drink with friends. Gabe (bartender) was really nice and the service was amazing. I went on Jan 25 when the snowstorm hit so the kitchen was closed, but the drinks were great (cranberry juice with vodka is amazing). Staff were very kind and supportive when a man was bothering me, and I would definitely recommend this place for women who are alone (or anyone, really)!

I quickly checked their online menu and decided to go there. Had some great food and awesome, friendly service from Melissa.
