“This is a different sort of review. We missed our reservation because of a flight. I travel a lot and it can be a pain when the flights don’t line up with dinner plans.
The team there was so accommodating on a busy night and when it did not work out, they were so friendly that it made me want to come back.

I actually sought out the spot they have in the waterworks food hall and it did not disappoint. Very good.“

“Went last night with a group of 4. Usually I have to think how many stars I give. Not in this case.

This was the best dining and food experience we have had in a long time, The tasting menu was impeccable and incredibly delicious. From beginning to end there was not a single course that was not excellent. I can write abut the food courses but as they will change makes little sense. Let me tell you, it is wonderful mix between flavours.

The atmosphere, the service with the best server you can experience (shout out to Jessica) made the overall experience a 6 star but I only can give.

“This was a really cool experience! We went in knowing this was a dining experience with students learning their chosen craft- meaning we were not expecting perfection. BUT let me tell you, it was all fantastic and exceeded our hopes. The food was delicious, creative and the cocktails were made very well! We really enjoyed getting to meet Tommy as our server and learn about him and what he wants to do next.
We got the prosciutto and asparagus appetizer, and the chicken and duck dishes, with a Paper Plane and Old Fashioned cocktail, with orange creme brulee for dessert. Fantastic flavors!

“A very cosy uptown restaurant ! I have been several times over the years and it never disappoints. Was there again last night and have to say the veal scallopini was excellent. It was a tough choice as there are so many delicious things on the menu. The friendly and excellent service, food and ambiance was perfect. A big thank you to the staff for such an enjoyable evening. “Overall the food was top notch and the service was excellent, but the fine dining scene is a bit outside my comfort zone.

A few weeks back I joined my colleagues for a winterlicious lunch at Canoe. It had been 10+ years since I had been to Canoe. For the uninitiated, Canoe is fine dining so the efficiency of the staff and care given to the experience is impressive. The restaurant is located on the 54th floor of the TD Centre tower, so we had a great view of the Toronto Harbourfront.

For my appetizer I ordered the artichoke soup with rosemary custard, carrot and crispy sunchokes. The soup was rich (but not too rich) and I loved the texture of the sunchokes.

My main was the Atlantic salmon with cauliflower, fennel and pernod cream sauce. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce was delicately delicious. We ordered a side of bread after getting our mains, so my plate was returned very clean...

For dessert I had the chocolate tart with blood orange and cream cheese. I don't recall much blood orange flavours, but the berry and mint were a nice garnish. I knew this was going to be a rich dish, so I ordered an Americano to pair. I relished every bite of this tart, but it was too rich for some.“

“I feel like it’s rare for restaurants to survive in Toronto as long as Grey Gardens has, but it’s so apparent to me now why it has.

This was a 10/10 dining experience for me, and pretty much the best I’ve had out in TO in a very long time. Just wow. The ambiance is so warm and inviting, the service is TOP notch, and the food is so damn delicious (we ordered a second tartare after we took one bite of the first one). Drinks were bomb too. “The problem I have with this restaurant is: everything is excellent. I simply can’t choose a favourite. Shrimp tacos and wagyu dumplings are a must, the burger is always perfect… The schnitzel… and ALL OF THE DESSERTS. The dining room is timeless, the bar/patio is perfect on a nice day. Service is always wonderfully warm and kind. Intense wine list and lovely cocktails. Most absolutely recommend enjoying a meal here.“

“Had breakfast in the AM in the restaurant. Sat at the bar that night for happy hour. The eggs benny were excellent. Texture, sauce and egg poaching was perfect. Very tasty. The happy hour wings were large and cooked perfectly with a hint of spice - I had mild sauce on the side. Awesome wings. I followed with a pepperoni pizza. That was great too. The bar is your typical hotel bar and with a conference going on, the place gets a bit loud... but I am sure that it's not always like that. Wait and bar staff really friendly... I must say an enjoyable first visit to the place!“

Service was good. Order and drinks were taken and served at the appropriate time.

The steak was cooked perfectly and good size for its price. Although there were king mushrooms and potatoes, it would be good to have some greens on the dish.“

“Have had both steak and crab here and both were excellent, you can get equally good steak for a similar price at many other steakhouses in Toronto but the seafood stood out to me. Side dishes weren't anything special but are included with some orders.

It's not cheap but service was very friendly and to me it was worth it.“
