“Came in for dinner with a friend. Overall, the tasting menu was great and we highly recommend the experience (7 dishes), we were impressed with multiple dishes and the pacing was good (~3 hours). Will definitely be back!

Food ~
So much good aesthetic food, everything was cooked on point, ingredients were both high quality and fresh. Particularly loved the lobster, snow crab, striped bass, duck, cheese & crackers, and tres leches cake dishes. Also found it interesting that before your main dish (duck) you are given a light dessert as a palette cleanser, which was refreshing indeed with great flavour (strawberry jelly, raspberry icecream with an intricate lime biscuit like topper).

Drinks ~
We also added on the mocktail pairing which came with 5 drinks to accompany 5 dishes. Mostly unique blends that leaned on the sour side where 3/5 mocktails were particularly enjoyable. However, I do recommend skipping the mocktail pairing and ordering drinks directly.

Extra notes on standout combos...
Aged roasted duck: I love duck and was most excited for this dish. They did not let me down, the duck was made super tender and flavourful you can really taste the earnest intention and time used to prepare it just right. The mushroom, paired sauces, and bread (super fluffy and comes with a butter elevated with fermented agave) were amazing together; the mocktail pairing for this was also perfect - made with sour cherry and apple cider kombucha - it tasted like a great red wine alternative and really completed the dish.
Lobster - served with flan at the bottom and a few fresh peas with foam on top.. super creamy with soft textures yet sharply distinct flavours that complemented each other perfectly and were simply delicious together.
Snow crab - crab served with a tangy twist and spaghetti squash, very good flavour combination that didn't taste complicated but yummy nonetheless.. the kind of dish that inspires me to attempt to make something similar at home!
Cheese & crackers: sweet rye crackers with a mousse cheese and quince jelly filling. This flavour combination was unexpectedly superb, hitting a good balance between sweet and savoury through a melody of smokey, fruity, and creamy flavours.

Vibes ~
Ambiance is cozy and warm toned, I will add that I found it slightly chilly so if you get cold easily take note. We sat at the chef's table/beside the kitchen, and were hoping to get a better view of the chefs preparing food, however it wasn't worth it as 1) we really couldn't see much as the counter was too high and blocked most of our view, 2) this front space was tighter than the main dining area 3) we were right beside the bathroom and 4) cost is the same as sitting in the main area. Just a heads up, aim to sit in the main dining area if you can! Bathroom is nice with 2 non-gendered single rooms, they also provide clean towels for drying your hands.

Staff ~
They were so friendly, explained the menu well as dishes came out. Also knowing that we were having a goodbye dinner to mark the occasion of my friend moving far away, the team signed off on a bon voyage card for her, which was a very sweet momento.

Recommendations ~
Please add more mocktail creations to your drinks menu! Also, it's always fun to get a copy of the tasting menu as a printout at the end, we were only given 1 for our table of 2 - it would be nice if everyone got their own. I also love the shoutout on the menu to the farms/places they source ingredients from.“

“The dishes we had were great. Delicious flavors. Only critique was the fritters that were hard round balls than normal fritters, but minor compared to the overall meal. Everyone was professional and a very nice atmosphere. Expect a very loud environment with the DJ playing good music.“

“I visited Joni Restaurant at Park Hyatt last week, and it was an amazing experience. Natalia, the bartender, made the best Cosmopolitan I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and absolutely delicious. “Didn’t realize I was dining in Vancouver tonight bc this meal was gastownnnn!!! Went for a highly anticipated grey Monday tasting menu and was wow wow wowed by pretty much every bite (particularly the shrimp ravioli, and yes, I’m GLAD it came with bread). Do the freaking wine pairing if you ever go, it’s well worth it to have to think just a lillll bit less and have a sexy little sip to hold hands with each course (thank you Jake!) Service was wonderful, every member on staff that interacted with us was very kind and attentive at every step of the meal. Just a lovely experience overall (portion size was good, we left full! 🫄)“

“6 out of 5 STARS. My husband & I went for BRUNCH on a Saturday. First time to the establishment. The food was outstanding, as was the service. Our server CLIO was great. She was helpful, friendly and very patient with us – I had a lot of questions, it being our first time.

I had the BUILD A BENNY and my husband had the HORCHATA FRENCH TOAST. The PORTION SIZE was PERFECT. Our COCKTAILS were also quite delicious. (They do NOT have tomato juice, so sadly – no Bloody Marys. LOL)

I was lucky enough to be one of the FIRST to try the NEW HOLLANDAISE infused with BEETROOT JUICE. It was delcious.

In the end I ended up BUYING a bottle of the IN HOUSE HOT SAUCE – it tasted SUPER FRESH, HERBACIOUS & HOT HOT HOT.

We cannot WAIT to come back to try the DINNER MENU!
We did NOT have a rezo, but I think we were a little lucky – so, going forward, I will make a reservation.“

“I love my shawarma. Like a lot! My friend and I decided to try this place on a whim, and DANG I'm glad we did! This shawarma was so flavorful and perfectly crispy! Like, I love their shawarma so much it could make me cry haha 😂. So, if you are a foodie like me and want to try something that will blow your mind and probably change your life for the better, GO TO WHAT A SHAWARMA!!! And the Baklava... Goodness gracious!!! 😋 And the service was so freaking good! Such awesome people working here!! And you can tell when someone is passionate about making food versus your average fast food place. “My husband and I stumbled upon Peter Pan Bistro after a long afternoon exploring the Queen West neighbourhood, and we are so glad we did. We arrived around 6 on a Tuesday and were seated right away, which was a nice surprise. The roasted chicken was absolutely wonderful, tender and full of flavour, just the kind of comforting meal you hope for after a day on your feet. “Delicious every time! The seasonal menu is always a delight for the senses. I live two provinces away and we happened upon this gem of a place a couple of years ago. Yesterday, I had a layover in Toronto of around 12 hours. Took a terminal train, the up train, the subway and my feet all the way from Winnipeg to dine here. Scrumptious. Healthy. Leaves you feeling full without guilt! Two thumbs way up!“

We started with the Chicken Wings and we were very pleased with the crispness and that they weren’t smothered in sauce, but had a nice medium spice level. The Butter Chicken was enjoyable and the Rib Steak had a nice reduction served with it. The service was very attentive and friendly and the Manager, Antonio, very knowledgeable about the wines offered. Hint: ask for the bottle of Llebre wine. A nice treat that isn’t on the wine list.“

“We enjoyed a beautiful breakfast buffet here, while staying at the Doubletree. The food was hot, fresh and nicely presented, considering it was a buffet. Our server, Juned was very attentive, friendly and grateful for the gratuity. I think too many people that attend these breakfast buffets at a hotel, just leave their coupon that covers the cost of the breakfast, and don’t bother tipping. It’s a buffet, yes, but the server is keeping the hot coffee and fresh orange juice coming, and at this location, you can also order eggs to your liking and they will be brought to your table. Serving is hard work - TIP!

We also stopped for a late night cocktail at this location and had fantastic service from the bartender. Unfortunately we didn’t get his name, but if you were working behind the bar, until close on a Saturday night, you are a great bar keeper!“

Rude staff and an even more rude owner... don't bother complaining about anything because you're just going to get cussed at... absolutely appalling behavior... the usual crowd are loud obnoxious and seriously over their limits. I've witnessed tables and chairs falling all over the place on many occasions because people are way too intoxicated to think. The owner acts like he's untouchable and says things like " you're in a bar what do you expect " . I expect to be treated as a paying customer. Never going there again. also... one of the servers is literally always drunk out of her mind... my very first visit she was crying about her ex... and almost every time I ordered wings SHE GOT MY ORDER WRONG....over and over again!! let's just say ive had many free wings and stuff from her as an apology...
