“A hidden gem near the Distillery District! I had the eggs benny with fluffy hollandaise sauce, and every bite was amazing. The standout feature is their wine tasting bar. Their wines are fantastic, and on Sundays, all the wine selections are offered at retail price with no markup! You can enjoy a wide range of amazing wines from $25 per bottle. I've been back three times since discovering this place. It's a great new find!“

We've been to Amal a few times now however a few take aways from our last visit are as follows: - this restaurant would really be elevated with better bread options to accomodate dips. Pita bread was standard store bought and wasn't warmed when brought to our table. - The "puffed" pita bread only came in whole wheat. - The marinated olives weren't even really marinated and just tasted like the standard Kalamata olives you get from Costco. You'd think paying $10 for olives would get you olive bar quality marinated olives. - fries were sub-par and not crispy. The main entrees were delicious. Amal is always a good time but noticed that just a few small changes would really elevate the guest experience.“

Atmosphere was on point for a Saturday afternoon, immediately greeted by a pleasant staffer and ushered to seating.
Clean, cozy establishment, the immediate service and drinks in a snap was great.

Had a switch of waitress during the clean up and she was just as charming as the first.

“I went to Astoria this past Sunday for brunch during Dundas fest. It was super busy upon arrival and I was expecting to be put on a waitlist, but a lovely lady named Kendra found us a spot right away and served our table. She was very attentive and gave great recommendations. I had the eggs Benny and French toast, and loved both. Would definitely come back for the food and atmosphere, but Kendra’s service really sealed the deal!“

“My friend and I had a delicious Filipino breakfast of House Pork Sausage with fried eggs and garlic rice at this tiny eatery near Bathurst and College. Also shared some scrumptious fried chicken. Everything that we ordered from the small menu was very good. Service was very attentive, courteous and friendly. Because this restaurant is quite small in size and limited in seating, we suggest that you go early to avoid the need to wait for a seat. That said, BBs is well worth a trip. Highly recommended.“

“We had a wonderful girls night out at Joni. Each item in the $95 Chefs Tasting Menu was beautiful and delicious — and very filling. The restaurant itself was very elegant with a pianist playing music and fireplaces. Our server Kaustubh was very professional and made the evening even more special. “Parquet is a good french bistro with a great prix fixed menu on week days. We tried both the mains on the prix fixed menu and both were exceptional. The crab rice was also delicious. Unlike most of the restaurants in the area, noises levels are low and you can carry on a conversation without having to shout across the table. I highly recommend it!“

“Found it by accident after leaving a disappointing restaurant 2 mins away. The food is a an experience. The different flavours, style and unique dishes are more then enough to visit again. The staff very knowledgeable and professional, definitely will be coming back.

“I recently worked at an event at the Royal York. The staff were very responsive to our requirements and the food on the banqueting level was exceptional. They were doing some decorating/renovation on the corridors on the mezzanine level above which was noisy at times, but they kept any unsightly work behind discreet curtains.

Safety: The day was a global anniversary of the Palestinian attack on Israel and the event was VIP. The hotel had extra security staff on duty to ensure that there were no disruptions, which was at times, intrusive, but overall appreciated.“

In addition to restructuring their business to remain somewhat open but safe for themselves and their patrons, they’ve been a voice above the racial hate and injustice the world has been forced to finally confront. When things got too bad, both Becky and Ryan have been around to help ease the anxiety and despair to not only those in Toronto, but all the way down in the southwest USA (virtually of course). Even if they themselves are going through the same if not worse hell that we’re in. I hope to see my good friends again to talk and laugh over a well crafted drink, and not through the lens of a webcam.“

“I came here for pre-dinner drinks because Mother Tongue was closed for a private party. Was not expecting the underground dark speak-easy vibe. Similar to upstairs, the cocktails have an Asian twist or influence.

I tried the jasmine milk tea, which was just a touch of floral, but you could taste the lemon more.

I wanted an espresso martini, but the bar tender recommended one with a unique twist. He made me a miso espresso martini, which was AMAZING. It tasted like salted caramel, but you still got the umami flavour.

I really enjoyed coming here as it was a happy accident but I left impressed. The cocktails are boozy, the bartender was really nice and attentive, and the vibes were 100.“

Very creative is a great place to take someone out for a real interesting experience. Drinks are rather pricey, but overall service was impeccable. The bar food was good. I came with a larger group and the space was perfect and very cozy for my group size. We actually had the whole space to ourselves. The venue is not too large so depending on your group size, it may or may not be what you are looking for. I absolutely love their cocktails and mocktail options. The Pear Sour was both tasty and unforgettable. Food is decent. The Beetroot Arancini Ball and Shrimp Cocktail Boat stood out to me the most. Interior decor here is stunning and the staff is super helpful, friendly and accommodating. I'll definitely come back to try their other drinks.“

“The service was great! It was my friends birthday and he joked that he wanted just the peanut satay sauce on everything and they brought out a cake and a side of the peanut satay sauce with a little candle at the end of our meal. This small gesture made us all laugh and really added to the experience. We also had a vegan with us and allergies and they were super diligent in making sure to explain for the dietary restrictions for each dish as they dropped it off. Overall great experience.“

“Went with some girlfriends and sat on the patio. Place was very busy. They have greek inspired small plates. For the most part I enjoyed the food. I would say, avoid the shrimp. 2 pcs/order served shell on. It was way overcooked and not worth the effort to eat. The feta with pomegranate and the lamb ribs were standout dishes for me. Service was okay considering how busy it was. Half price bottles of wine 5:30-7:30.“
