“We had one of the best dinners we’ve ever eaten at this restaurant, and we are foodies so that is saying something. The service was amazing, everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere and ambiance was intimate and classy. But let’s talk about the FOOD! Ugh! I splurged and tried the certified A5 Kobe, and it did not disappoint! It was incredibly buttery, tender, and perfectly cooked to temp, I couldn’t get enough. We’ve been to Japan and had A5 Kobe and Wagyu, and this was right up top with the cuts we had there. The sides were nothing short of phenomenal! We also had the sushi assortment with maki, nigiri and sashimi and it was mouth watering. I wish we lived right next door to this place, but I guess it’s better for my wallet that we don’t. If you’re considering eating here, DO IT!“

“A few weeks ago I got to go to Lot88 and I loved it! It was my first time dining here and my server Maggie was so lovely. She provided some great suggestions for each and every one of us and even gave suggestions that fit my friend’s dietary restrictions. She was also a great conversationalist and didn’t make me feel like a transaction for the company. The food was exceptional and the lava stone experience was such a fun experience that I’ve never seen before. “Came here for dinner and we had such a great time! Our server was Julia, and she was just on top of everything! I didn’t even have to ask for extra napkins and my water was always topped up. She seemed very efficient with a really great attitude overall and even helped us with the menus, as it was our first time here. We were quite happy with our food, it was so good and didn't take long too come out. The whole vibe at Earls was great! “I went to Laylak for the first time over the weekend for a birthday celebration. From the moment I was seated, our waiter, Mo, was taking care of everything. The attention given by him was top notch. The restaurant is beautifully designed. The vibe was very mellow/cozy. We ordered the Ramadan chef special. The order started with a generous trio of dips, salad and appetizers. All of which were very fresh and tasty. The mains were kebabs of lamb, chicken and beef which were all perfectly seasoned. For dessert we had a pudding infused with rose water. I would definitely recommend this place.“

“As the biggest of karaoke enthusiasts, my partner and I checked out Dat Cang Karaoke on Concession, for our date night out. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves singing karaoke to our hearts content. The staff was lovely and courteous, quick to respond to needs, and curious about our feedback as they are newly open and licensed. They also let us know that this was the first Wednesday night open for karaoke so it was especially nice to sneak in unanticipated and the only singers in the club. We both were impressed with their host system, sound quality, and especially stage lighting - it felt welcoming to sing in a space built with obvious care. There's plenty of comfortable seating arranged in groupings that enable you to sing from your seat or take the stage if desired. We did both and enjoyed the comfort of feeling like singing at home but in a lovely and well-tended space. The karaoke system is far superior to most currently used in North America. having myself been a karaoke host and a world champion of karaoke competition, I feel confident in saying that this is a program that is far more accessible to worldwide karaoke options in multiple no languages. I was really impressed with its accessibility and performance and also impressed with the sound quality which was definitely above standard. Both of us look forward to coming back again and with some friends for many fun nights of karaoke to come! Thank you for listening to us!! 🎶🎤“

“Crooksy’s is a true gem. Everything you could want from a neighbourhood pub. Great food, incredible prices (especially if you stick to weekly specials), fun and quality staff. “We came for Taste of Oakville and it didn’t disappoint.

We were greeted and seated immediately.
The atmosphere of the space was calm and inviting. Our waiter Jazz was a delight and attentive. Food was great (except for the lobster was a tad overdone for my liking). The lobster bisque was chef’s kiss and a must try.
The portion size for the value was well worth it!

“UPDATE: Foodbox provided me a replacement box of onion rings on my next order. Overall, they onion rings were okay, A little on the underdone/soft side, but better than being burnt. The Fish & Chips continued to be average and okay. Their fries, which I tried this time too, where pretty good, and the Tar Tar sauce continued to be pretty good too.

I am glad I have them another chance, even if it's not the most amazing food, it's a pretty decent value based on what you get for what you pay, so if you're looking for some good, affordable, decent value, average quality fish and chips. This place ain't that bad.

ORIGINAL REVEIW: Ordered fish and chips from Food Box a few days ago (been busy since then). It was a busy night and we were craving fish and chips so we placed an order. When it arrived, the fish was on par with your average fish and chips place, fair for the price, and the in-house tar-tar sauce was good too.

However, the onion rings were were outright burnt. I am not sure how this passed any visual or quality inspection. The onions inside were shriveled to leather and the outsides were burn and hard as a rock. They were inedible. We were left without a side for our meal.

I am finally getting around to writing a review now so others can be prepared to the quality they can expect if they order, however, I hope this is a one-off and Food Box reaches out to me to give them another chance.“
