“the east end wins again, the most delightful, beautiful restaurant with delicious, complex flavours all accessible as a neighbourhood, non-pretentious joint. this is a rotating menu restaurant - so reviews you read here are likely not related to what you’ll eat — which IMO, is fantastic. we sat at the bar - a place we highly encourage guests to sit at - we ordered 7 dishes (2 more than suggested) and were blown away. the service was top notch - we always appreciate skilled staff, and the atmosphere + music were a solid 10. fantastic date spot, being your parents to eat spot, friends with benefits spot + my best friend is getting married so we are celebrating spot.“
“What an amazing experience. The wine selection is amazing, something for every pallet with a great explanation of the nodes, region and pairing. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the oysters, croquettes, chorizo sausage and peppers, brussel sprouts and dill aioli was out of this world, fennel salad and finished with the delicious apple pie with cheddar crumble. An amazing experience, each bite better than the last. Definitely looking forward to my next visit!!“
“Bar Raval is a vibrant restaurant bar on College Street designed by the architectural firm Partisans. The design is a modern interpretation of Spanish Art Nouveau, while paying homage to the pintxo, the traditional tapas bars from northern Spain. Carefully cut from sculpted mahogany wood, the space was inspired by Gaudi’s biomimicry. The sinuous forms within Raval encourage mingling, keeping in the same spirit as Spain’s jovial pintxos. The nearly all day Raval is open from 11am until 1am, but my favorite time to visit is before sunset to witness the transition from a naturally lit art piece to a more dramatic look after dark.Bar Raval’s tapas game is strong, with delectable sharing plates like manchego, Catalan sobrassada, and marinated octopus. For drinks, bartender Elise Hanson has got you covered. The talented Elise, who recently won Bombay’s Most Imaginative Bartender, made me Raval’s iconic Bishop’s Garibaldi with Campari, fluffy orange juice, cinnamon, guajillo and pasilla pepper and nutmeg as well as her favorite (and mine too): White port and house tonic, perhaps the perfect low ABV concoction.“
“The place is so different than the last day I came here. There’s less Izakaya and more like sushi bar menu. Service is good, the server is kind and explain in details about the food. The oyster is delicious, but I do miss the more Izakaya-kind of food.“
“Dining in was an unforgettable experience, greatly enhanced by our waiter, Dee, whose service was exceptional. She guided us through the menu with expertise, suggesting dishes like fresh sashimi, and irresistible grilled octopus.Dee's attentiveness made our visit special. She ensured our glasses were always full and our table laden with delectable dishes. Her passion and knowledge about the cuisine added a personal touch that made our dining experience stand out.In short, the restaurant is a gem worth visiting for its delicious food and outstanding service, especially from Dee. We left promising to return soon.“
“An excellent date spot, with top notch service. We had their tuna tartare (8.5/10), spicy ceviche (9/10), truffle gnudi (8/10) and the Branzino (7.5/10 - this was amazing but maybe the tomato side was overpowering). I’d say the spicy ceviche and tuna tartare cannot be missed and I’d definitely back go just for that. We were seated at the front area of the restaurant, which was really cute (but a tad chilly). We also got complimentary cheese puff starters (sorry forgot the specific name!) which were delicious! There is plenty of street parking and I’d definitely recommend!“
“One of the best restaurants in the city! We started off with the sourdough bread with olive oil - it was super soft! Then we moved on to the bone marrow, which was very decadent - it came with bread and chimichurri. The grilled octopus was great, as usual. Something we tried different was the mushroom dish - which was meaty and delicious. Service and cocktails were amazing! Vibes were immaculate.“
“In a world where all the restaurants on King Street are overpriced and under seasoned, only one place can provide awesomely seasoned food for a slightly lower price and that's Wang Lang. This new restaurant came out of the blue, but has been absolutely phenomenal. The food and customer service is amazing and their focus on authentic Thai flavours is absolutely mind blowing. I hope they continue to maintain this excellent flavour profile and service. Keep up the good work.Dietary restrictions: Not the best place for those with a nut allergy.“
“I might be biased because I used to work for the company. With that said, it's a very detailed room that's reminiscent of an old street car. I've only enjoyed cocktails ? there, so I can't say much about the food. But it's the same style as 416 snack bar, so it should be awesome ?.“
“Flor 2 Tapas Bar is a great find if you're after an upscale vibe that won't break the bank. Ideal for a date night or but also a spot you could go to hang out with friends. The beef sliders were decent, but honestly, everything else I sampled on the menu on the menu was top-notch. The flavors were on point, and everything came out hot. I’m not too into seafood but based on what I had I’m sure seafood lovers will love that because there were many options.I didn't even have space for dessert—I was stuffed! I have an excuse to come back and try other items and attempt a sweet treat at the end. Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced spot with a classy feel, Flor 2 Tapas Bar will not disappoint.“
“Great little wine bar with a good wine selection and great tapas, really nice vibe for a date or a night out with friends. The beef tartar with chanterelles, squash with hazelnuts and the mortadella sandwich were my person favourites. Highly recommend and will be back!“
“Over the past couple of years I’ve ordered from here a handful of times now and one thing I can contest to is how consistent and high quality the food is even for delivery orders. Quality ingredients, hot and fresh, generous portions, great price, sustainable packaging. That alone wows me, not to mention how tasty and well executed they are. Some of the best pasta dishes I’ve tried in the city so far. 10/10 would recommend.“
“Absolutely incredible vegan journey! Where is your Michelin star?! Some of the dishes have an exquisite umami punch-through that hits the mark hard. So spot-on!Other than that, the bar area tables should be replaced as you cannot fit your legs between the table legs due to the design of having a table leg at each corner. Very uncomfortable in the bar area. Sore thighs and back pains.“
“Absolutely love this place. Great food that felt like I was back in Japan. The presentation is great and food tasted fantastic. Only wish they had a couple more vegetarian items or listed items that can be made vegetarian because it's hard to convince my spouse to come when there is only one item on the menu that she can eat. In any case it's so worth the trip out.The platter was worth it!“
“My new favorite stop on Danforth. I love this store and the owners are just delightful to chat with and full of great cooking ideas. I also got their take-out paella for my SuperBowl party (both a chicken chorizo and a seafood) along with some empanadas -- it was all delicious!“
“Ive only lived around this place for 1.5 yrs and have read about their ramen for a while. It did not disappoint!Ramen: so simple yet packed full of flavors (altho also a little bit small, and for this particular price point, granted this is more like a izakaya rather than a ramen joint)Pork jowls with ponzu: So simple yet beautifully done. It's a cute izakaya with delicious (but also pricy) food. Enjoyed the experience tremendously.“
“The food here is absolutely delicious. We came in on a busy saturday night with reservations and were seated at the bar (not the best) but our server and the food more than made up for the uncomfortable seats. We ordered the premium yakitori set, washed it down with sake and ordered a few small dishes. I have been to their Vancouver location and really looking forward to the next dinner!Vegetarian options: Zuchinni, tomatoes, mushrooms, edamame“
“Good vibe. Good food. It was quite full and buzzing with activity on the Friday evening we visited. I would consider it one of the better restaurants in the area. It a good location offering an after dinner stroll with good a view of Toronto city lights at dusk or after dark. Parking is scarce but I would put this place on the A list.“
“The cocktails were enjoyable, and our server was friendly. Although the food was delicious, the portions were small compared to the price. The overall design of the place was great, but it was disappointing that the smell of fried food lingered and even stuck to my clothes.“
“4.5 stars. Archive is one of the most unpretentious wine bars in Toronto. Josh knows his stuff, and the wine list is comprehensive and constantly changing, with new wines almost every week. The food are small bitea like meats ans cheese that pair well with the wine. Don't expect a meal here, its all about the wine.“
“I had dinner at Deco's last Friday, and everything was great. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. It was an amazing evening. What a beautiful little restaurant with amazing staff and delicious food.Thank you very much for having us.“
“Hugh's Room is a beautiful and intimate venue, great for seeing musical acts, especially if you want an opportunity to feel really close to the stage. We had the most wonderful evening seeing the amazing Alicia Witt there. She is a talented musician. If you ever get a chance to see her live, take that opportunity! And this venue was perfect for her personable style. They have a small bar and friendly, personable staff. I'll definitely be returning to see other performances there!“
“Feels like your own living room, the vibes are immaculate. Very cozy, intimate, laid back. We got the scallop ceviche, spicy shrimp ceviche, and green curry mussels. The food was alright, the shrimp and mussels were 7/10, the scallop was a bit too salty. Overall great vibe, will come back to try more stuff on the “
“Overall 4.5 stars!Sunday $6 Sapporo special? Great deal! Loved the food and service, can’t wait to come back.We ordered the baked oysters, karaage, sous vide duck breast and miso black cod.• Oysters were hot and cheesy - delicious!• Karaage was juicy and savoury - highly recommend .• Duck was the STAR of the night. Perfectly cooked, incredibly paired with yuzu sansho paste and soy based sauce and definitely a must order.• Miso back cod - buttery, rich and also a show stopper. They sold out of the salmon and scallop sashimi special but would have loved to try. Maybe next time.Atmosphere could be a bit better. Would recommend they fix the stairs to the bathroom - they’re a bit bent out of shape and kinda dangerous given how dark it is.“
“Came by on a week night. Happy hour deal for cocktails is really good. Had a fresh espresso martini (not on happy hour) and a rebojito. Good selection of cocktails that I was surprised to see available for happy hour 10-12am.The jamon croquettes with truffle was to die for. I only wish they were bigger so I could have more. Bread and butter was nice too.Service was ok wish they came by more often as we were constantly trying to order more dishes. On a positive note: we ordered the steak with béarnaise on the side. It came out with it on (egg allergy) and they quickly remade it and gave us some coconut shots while we waited for our new steak.“
“This is a really special place. Nice low lit ambience. We sat at the bar. Bartender was personable and responsive with food and drink order through the night. Kitchen is amazing; we had artichoke hearts, grilled calamari and the brained beef short rib. All fantastic. Would definitely recommend family and friends to dine “
“First time here, met with a friend for some drinks. We sat at the bar and I’m giving 5 stars for the bartender, she was very attentive and pleasant even though it was super packed on a Friday night. I didn’t catch her name but she had long blonde multi coloured hair, funky gothic/comicon style make up and tattoos.“
“For a brief period of time, I lived in the restaurant oasis of Dundas West. In one month, I ate here three times. Convivial host, small scale place that feels like Japan. Outstanding collection of Japanese sakes, whiskies but the best part are the bar snacks which can be a meal unto itself.Best. Miso. Ever.“
“Came here for brunch after the place we were planning on going to which was nearby was full. The vibe was giving nightclub. Very dark. It was nearly empty inside (although there were people out on the patio). The music was terrible. Ordered a coffee, she said they have no cream, just milk... I was starting to think I'd made a mistake....But then the food arrived. The lumpia was the best lumpia I've ever had! Ordered the pork belly lettuce wraps and they were equally fantastic! My husband had the Philipino breakfast and really enjoyed it, and my friend had the French Toast which wasn't your typical French Toast but he also said it was really good. Will totally go back here sometime to try their dinner menu. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.“
“Neighbourhood fixture for at least 3 decades. Definitely dine in, not take-out. Many small dishes usually shared by diners. About five dishes per diner is usually about right. Able to cover vegetarian & gluten-free; vegan slightly more limited but you'll still do fine.“
“Don't come on a heavy stomach unless you're stretchy pants or willing to treat yourself. The food is tasty and unique pair with its bold flavor. It does get busy fast so arrive early if you have a big party otherwise you'll have to sit at the bar. ( perfect place for a date spot).“
“We chose here as family wanted to try it. We went early, so parking was not a problem. there is green P close by and there is a little on the street. What a treat. Lovely people who made every effort to make the whole evening one of the best. Of course the food was fantastic, but it had a little extra from the staff that put it, in our book, above other restaurants of this callibre. Word of warning, we speculate that this is a very popular local spot with punters , and not a large number of tables, so reserve.“
“We just had a funeral, and ordered some Spanish tortilla for the reception. We were blown away! It tasted just like my mother-in-law’s, and was enjoyed by all. Everyone was asking where it was from, and it was gone within minutes. It sure brought us back to Spanish family gatherings. Their garlic aioli with bread was also delightful. If the rest of their food is as good as this, you are in for a treat. Highly highly recommended!!“
“Service is excellent. I tried sake first time, and the waitress helped me for selecting sake, it was amazing. We ordered sushi and more things, they were really tasty. I will visit that place more often. Good price, good food, very good service, thank you for that experience.“
“One of me and my bf’s default date night spots since we live nearby. I recommend the Yuugi Sushi, Udon Peperoncino, Karaage, Tebasaki, and Grilled Oysters. Sesame salmon, their miso soup, and the edamame is good too. My fave cocktail is the Ginza Blue.I wouldn’t recommend the ramen poutine or the mackerel fried rice. Otherwise, good food and great experience!“
“came here because kintaro izakaya went viral on instagram. ? as soon as I stepped into the restaurant I was amazed by the authentic Japanese atmosphere. it was so zen and vibrant. the service was amazing and quick for a busy evening. I got myself a japango roll, 2 mochi bacons skewers, tori karaage, and kimchi yaki udon to share with my partner. we also shared a kikusui junmai daiginjo since they were having a deal. delicious!“
“Stopped by for a quick shot…or two after dinner before bed at the Fairmont Royal York, and was pleasantly surprised by being seated quickly at the bar, spoke to a gentleman whom was a little surprised that I was in and out in under 15 minutes. But quality tequila over quantity is definitely an option here. Patron A served, and was served with a smile.Only thing I felt out of place for was the gentleman discussing what seemed like a first date next to me in aspirations about getting into the FBI and how his date would be a stay at home Mom. Kind of felt like I was in the wrong environment or time period for 2024. But the other gentleman beside me was easy to have a brief conversation with, while enjoying watching them make other people’s drinks.“
“Nice, unpretentious place with reasonable prices. The place is connected to the Longo’s, and feels like a half food court/half restaurant, but the prices are below what you’ll pay at any of the big tourist stops near Rogers Centre or Scotiabank Arena. You can buy food from the Longo’s hot bar, or alternatively, order at your seat and it gets delivered to to you. They also have a licensed bar and Starbucks. It’s a great option on a cold day as you can walk to the Scotiabank Arena via the bridge over Maple Leaf Square without stepping aside.“
“Always a fun time at Japas! The staff are friendly and the food never disappoints. We love the Japanese tapas menu, so much variety - I highly recommend the chicken gizzards and the udons here! For entertainment, you can pay a $10 deposit for the plastic darts and play with the dart machines at the back. The darts are made of cheap quality so, the tips will break - you can always ask the staff for fresh tips.Pro: prob the only restaurant on Bloor West that has washrooms on the main floor and not the basement!Only con: cash or debit only“
“Came for the high beau-tea with a friend and had a great experience! Service was very kind and they were very accommodating given the fact that we were quite late to our reservation ? Was surprised by the food being pretty good since most of the high tea offered in Toronto has tasted kind of mid and is very gimicky. I thought the display was cute for the high tea- some of the items I was kind of ehhh about but overall enjoyed it!Vegetarian options: definitely on the tapas menuDietary restrictions: will accommodate allergies for the most partKid-friendliness: could bring a kidWheelchair accessibility: big space w/ elevators“
“A wonderful place to grab cocktails and lounge around with friends in the evening. However, beware because this bar turns into a barclub in the latter half of the night.I highly recommend their espresso martini. Their espresso martini tastes smooth, velvety, and almost chocolate-like. Highly recommend. The staff were also kind and accommodating.“
“On par with other higher quality izakayas around Toronto, food was great! $30 for a pitcher of Sapporo that's brewed in Guelph is a bit much and the place looks like a big dinning hall rather than an izakaya, but those things will not prevent you from having a good time. Great “
“Not a bad note at any time. Monica is a very good server who is knowledgeable, engaging but not smothering. There when needed. The food is inventive and so tasty. Small bites. Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“
“We had never been before and chose the restaurant because we were seeing a play at the Canadian Stage on Berkeley street. The food was amazing. We had the Lebanese taco (falafel), Reyna salad, lamb baklava and cauliflower croquet … wow was delicious. Saffron baklava for dessert. Small plates so you can try a few things to share even with two people. A must try, we will be back“
“Salt Tapas Bar is such a gem! Beautiful interior, lovely attentive staff, delicious cocktails and food. Each dish was timed perfectly to enjoy a relaxed meal. Food presentation was stunning and the taste equally as good. The beef tartar, potato brava and burrato beet watercrest salad were our favourites, but the pirri chicken and scallops were really well done too.Definitely planning to come back!Thank you for the wonderful dinning experience.“
“Amazing experience dining here at Tapas at Embrujo. Wait staff were amazing and the food was delicious . Paella was great and well worth the wait. The tapas were also good , but I wish the bread wasn’t so difficult to cut. Overall had a great time and enjoyed it!“
“Our experience at Madrina was spectacular! Apart from the ambience being soothing and tranquil, the gastronomical journey was divine. Each tapas and dish is well thought out and contained rich and explosive flavour. They possess a copious wine list and if you’re uncertain, the sommelier is knowledgeable, affable and can willingly recommend a wine to pair nicely with your food. Our waiter (Ismit?) was fantastic. He possessed veritable experience and knowledge with every dish and his recommendations were very precise. One of the best tapas restaurants we’ve been to, and I mean globally.“
“Checkout Supermarket in Kensington on Tuesdays- amazing vibes, amazing local performances and an awesome way to spend your Tuesday night out with friends. Name of the event is called FamJam and I highly recommend paying it a visit and jamming w/ the locals!“
“Took my friend here for drink for his birthday and it was fantastic! We tried ordering a drink, waited awhile for it then got told that it wasn’t available. We ended up choosing another drink and they took care of it for the mishap! Our server was lovely and very patient with us while we navigating through the drink menu. The views and ambiance of this place is gorgeous as well. Will for sure be back!!“
“First time here, loved it and did not even miss the meat.Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great tasting food.Vegan food done right! Loved the bang bang broccoli, Vodka pizza! Also if you like cocktails their Herb your enthusiasm is phenomenal.Their sushi is also a must try! So tasty!“
