“Picked up last two tamales from the freezer section .. had them couple days later.. put them in a steamer (don’t like microwaving) and served with salsa with avocado… bit of hot sauce… honestly… it transported me back to Mexico.. they were filled with chicken and veg and were totally delicious. Best tamales this side of the Rio grand!! $4:95 each and worth every penny!!👍🏻👍🏻 two thumbs wayyy up!!“

“our favourite date night spot, can get a little loud but the food is BANGING every time. we love to get a steak tartare + fois gras, and then sample whatever is new on the menu. love love a create fusion small plates situation and it’s so fun that there’s something new every time (in addition to the special thing)!! vegetarian options available. we will be back always“

“Drink was awesome. I had the maple miso latte and it was interesting. Imo the waffle is a bit dry to finish. A bit more sauces to go with the fried chicken might be ideal.

The space is small so expect a wait time especially during the weekend.“

Large chatty parties and mechanicals in the kitchen were making it hard to hear the person at my table in the back room. Maybe next time we'll try the bar. Wait staff is very friendly and unpretentious, always a bonus.“

“Very cozy and homey! Been getting ads for it and we weren't even in the province, so we knew we had to check it out! The food was so delicious, and clearly homemade and not all greasy-fast-foodish. Spaghetti was delicious and big, filling portions. The options for meat was delicious as well, tenderly cooked and seasoned. Would love to come back when we can!!! “we went there last night ! ordered half octopus . its came and we didn't like it so much. waitres asked why we didn't finish , we said we didn't like it so much . Manger came to the table (before the bill) and asked what we didn't like in the octopus... and than she went to back and came back with : taking the charge of the octopus from the bill (its $59) !!!! great service !!! in very respect !!! with not even 1 word negative etc. !! amazing !!! we definitely will come back !!!!“

“Cheap and cheerful food before the Leaf game. Cheapest beer in the Dwtn core. It is not cozy at all, being at the back of a grocery store, but close to many places to grab a beer and not have to pay an arm and a leg. It was not too busy so, might be a hidden gem for a while.“

“I was just at Zakkushi on Carlton, terrible service there！！！made me leave before even eating. I came next door to Kintaro, I’m so glad I did. The food here is much better, the flavors are balanced (unlike Zakkushi, which was way too salty), and the service was genuinely friendly and welcoming. This place beats Zakkushi in every way. Highly recommend Kintaro—skip Zakkushi and come here instead.“

“Learned about this place from Too Good To Go app and decided to come here for lunch with a friend. It is a little hard to spot since it is hidden in a small street. We heard this place just open a month ago, so might explain why the place wasn't too busy. Good for us, since we could sit by the cozy lounge area. I got the Avocado Toast, and my friend the Mediterranean Cauliflower. The Toast was super balanced and beautiful (and so much avocado!). The Cauliflower had a lot of components and was very filling. We both agreed the food was 10/10. if you coming for Cocktail, would recommend the Amethyst and the Carribean Sour!“

“We had the best experience at Madrina. We ordered the 11 course tapas with wine pairing. Our server Mays was knowledgeable, entertaining and prompt while servicing our table inside and tables outside. The manager, Ishaan checked on us frequently making us feel at home. When you consider the amount of courses and wine the price point was more than reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant. Paella for the win!“

“I can’t say enough about our stay. I came to Toronto for surgery and had anxiety about the stay. They reached out to me numerous times to make sure I had a smooth stay. They even accommodated another night on short notice due to some complications that I had. Taylor, Nisha, Luis and everyone we came in contact with were stars in my books. They went above and beyond for my stay and I can’t thank them enough. Also the basket of bath products with a thoughtful letter was just lovely and blew me away. “Currently on the gorgeous patio watching the crowds filter in to the Scotiabank Arena. We intended to stop for a quick bite and drink and ended up staying for a few hours because of the atmosphere and the service. We were immediately greeted by Evie’s generous smile, followed by impeccable service from Barry, who not only was on top of all his tables and the bar, but made us laugh over and over again. And let’s not forget Eugene! Possibly the happiest and nicest person in food and service industry. All the tables are having a great time and the vibe is on point. One table was a bit grumpy earlier and rude to the staff but they handled it with grace. Would definitely recommend coming to the bar if you are in the area and heading to a game or concert. And be sure to sit in Barry’s section. You won’t regret it and you will keep coming back to see him….we will be back soon.“

“Not a bad note at any time. Monica is a very good server who is knowledgeable, engaging but not smothering. There when needed. The food is inventive and so tasty. Small bites. Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“

“Always come here every wednesday for their BOGO deal for yuugi torched salmon sushi! Their service is great and they always treat us nicely every time we come. On sundays, they also have omurice which is always a treat, definitely recommend trying that if you’re hungry! If its not a sunday, the omurice poutine is good too. The karage is very normal, my friends really like the house sauce!“

“The food is simple but tasty, with a solid selection of Japanese dishes. The real highlight, though, is the outdoor patio. It’s spacious, with large tables that are perfect for enjoying drinks and sharing food with friends. A great spot to relax, especially in nice weather.“

“I recently visited Clockwork for a beautiful tea for a close friend's big birthday celebration. There was a great selection of teas and delicious treats, including gluten-free and nut-free options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere was perfect, and everyone had a wonderful time. Before the tea, I emailed Elise to make sure everything was perfect. She was very lovely and accommodating. The staff members Gemma and Leah were nice but also incredibly attentive, making our celebration even more special. The whole experience was great. I would highly recommend it!“

“My friend and I came here for the first time last weekend for the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary party. We had a blast! The bar is in a prime location within Kensington market. There is an area for the bar when you first enter the venue and there is a space dedicated for dancing further in.“

“Can't believe we've been living in Toronto for 10 years and only found this place a few months ago. I loved their food and their passion and knowledge of sake is contagious and deep. I brought my father in law from Osaka here tonight and he ended up bringing back bottles and almost having them pull out their entire collection of sake as be couldn't believe their selection. Some of the bottles they offer are ones that even living in Japan are hard to come by. I'm a fan favorite of their house umeshu. It's aged well and has great flavors. Favorite dish is their potato salad and the beef tongue. Their specials and everything else never disappoint. I may regret bringing my father in law here this early in his visit to Toronto as he's still here for another two weeks and I'm pretty sure we're going back a few more times.“

“Overall, the experience was good, and the reception service was great. Unfortunately, our server was not very pleasant and seemed uninterested in serving us. Her responses were consistently rude and unpleasant, which made the experience less enjoyable. That said, it's a lovely place with a beautiful view and a great atmosphere. Perhaps we were just unlucky with our server that day.“

“My friend and I got the braised beef noodle and chicken udon, they were both very nice, noodle is spicy as advertised. They offer a free item if ur order exceeds 30$ for Saturdays it was edamame. Big variety of food, u get a free drink with a review as of now.“
