“First visit to Wood Owl. The food was very tasty, particularly the pork chop and the pasta special. The smoked trout dip with chips is a great starter to share over a drink or glass of wine.

We found the service friendly and attentive. It’s a small space, so I would recommend making reservations. Regarding their two-hour policy - many smaller restaurants have this policy for two people. “Picked up last two tamales from the freezer section .. had them couple days later.. put them in a steamer (don’t like microwaving) and served with salsa with avocado… bit of hot sauce… honestly… it transported me back to Mexico.. they were filled with chicken and veg and were totally delicious. “I don’t even know where to begin. Cool vibes. Great drink selection. Good music (if a little loud). But the food. THE FOOD! Some of the best food I’ve had in my entire life. Every bite was bliss. We had the eggplant double down on a trip to Toronto in 2019 and have daydreamed about it since. We had it last night and it… got better somehow??? Another standout is the tomato toast. But it’s all just so dang good.“

“One of the most fantastic Italian meals ever had in Toronto, and one of the most fantastic servers who was not only attentive to an incredible amount of tables at once but also anticipated everything we would need. Arrive early to snag a table - we got there 530 pm and when we left at 730 every table was packed.

“we went there last night ! ordered half octopus . its came and we didn't like it so much. waitres asked why we didn't finish , we said we didn't like it so much . Manger came to the table (before the bill) and asked what we didn't like in the octopus... and than she went to back and came back with : taking the charge of the octopus from the bill (its $59) !!!! great service !!! in very respect !!! with not even 1 word negative etc. !! amazing !!! we definitely will come back !!!!“

The only minus is the chair. I was sitting at the bar and the chair was too high. I am short and need to jump off from the chair.“

“Very cozy and homey! Been getting ads for it and we weren't even in the province, so we knew we had to check it out! The food was so delicious, and clearly homemade and not all greasy-fast-foodish. Spaghetti was delicious and big, filling portions. The options for meat was delicious as well, tenderly cooked and seasoned. Would love to come back when we can!!! “We had the best experience at Madrina. We ordered the 11 course tapas with wine pairing. Our server Mays was knowledgeable, entertaining and prompt while servicing our table inside and tables outside. The manager, Ishaan checked on us frequently making us feel at home. When you consider the amount of courses and wine the price point was more than reasonable. We highly recommend this restaurant. Paella for the win!“

“Drink was awesome. I had the maple miso latte and it was interesting. Imo the waffle is a bit dry to finish. A bit more sauces to go with the fried chicken might be ideal.

The space is small so expect a wait time especially during the weekend.“

“Overall a very nice dining experience! Everything we ordered was delicious and a good portion for two people to share. It was a little chilly and we were sitting on the patio, but the heaters kept it comfortable and the atmosphere was relaxed. The menu is a little unvaried so some specials would have been welcome.
The thing that will probably prevent me from coming back is the $100 no-show fee for reservations. I understand having a fee, but $100?! That’s extremely punitive given that there are 1000 legitimate reasons somewhat might need to cancel a reservation last minute - especially if they have young kids, as I do. I may try walking in if the opportunity comes up, but I don’t think I’ll make a reservation again.“

“We were very impressed with the sound quality of the venue. It was the ideal location for a performance by Sean McCann who's voice carried brilliantly throughout. He is a wonderful entertainer and human being.“

“Cheap and cheerful food before the Leaf game. Cheapest beer in the Dwtn core. It is not cozy at all, being at the back of a grocery store, but close to many places to grab a beer and not have to pay an arm and a leg. It was not too busy so, might be a hidden gem for a while.“

“Learned about this place from Too Good To Go app and decided to come here for lunch with a friend. It is a little hard to spot since it is hidden in a small street. We heard this place just open a month ago, so might explain why the place wasn't too busy. Good for us, since we could sit by the cozy lounge area. I got the Avocado Toast, and my friend the Mediterranean Cauliflower. The Toast was super balanced and beautiful (and so much avocado!). The Cauliflower had a lot of components and was very filling. We both agreed the food was 10/10. if you coming for Cocktail, would recommend the Amethyst and the Carribean Sour!“

“Always come here every wednesday for their BOGO deal for yuugi torched salmon sushi! Their service is great and they always treat us nicely every time we come. On sundays, they also have omurice which is always a treat, definitely recommend trying that if you’re hungry! If its not a sunday, the omurice poutine is good too. The karage is very normal, my friends really like the house sauce!“

“Not a bad note at any time. Monica is a very good server who is knowledgeable, engaging but not smothering. There when needed. The food is inventive and so tasty. Small bites. Two of us ordered five dishes and loved them all. The sommelier, Tessa, makes an amazing Arancello (better than Limoncello)! Her wine list is interesting and extensive, covering most types and regions, but we would have liked more bottles from Ontario, although the ones provided are all really good. We shall be back.“

“I can’t say enough about our stay. I came to Toronto for surgery and had anxiety about the stay. They reached out to me numerous times to make sure I had a smooth stay. They even accommodated another night on short notice due to some complications that I had. Taylor, Nisha, Luis and everyone we came in contact with were stars in my books. They went above and beyond for my stay and I can’t thank them enough. Also the basket of bath products with a thoughtful letter was just lovely and blew me away. “I was just at Zakkushi on Carlton, terrible service there！！！made me leave before even eating. I came next door to Kintaro, I’m so glad I did. The food here is much better, the flavors are balanced (unlike Zakkushi, which was way too salty), and the service was genuinely friendly and welcoming. This place beats Zakkushi in every way. Highly recommend Kintaro—skip Zakkushi and come here instead.“

“I recently visited Clockwork for a beautiful tea for a close friend's big birthday celebration. There was a great selection of teas and delicious treats, including gluten-free and nut-free options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere was perfect, and everyone had a wonderful time. Before the tea, I emailed Elise to make sure everything was perfect. She was very lovely and accommodating. The staff members Gemma and Leah were nice but also incredibly attentive, making our celebration even more special. The whole experience was great. I would highly recommend it!“

“My friend and I came here for the first time last weekend for the Hannah Montana 20th anniversary party. We had a blast! The bar is in a prime location within Kensington market. There is an area for the bar when you first enter the venue and there is a space dedicated for dancing further in.“

She served us with a smile on her face and captured a spectacular photo of my family and I. It was my mother’s birthday and she went above and beyond to make it special.
