“Highly recommend this restaurant..my Aunt bring me there for lunch as she said that everything was great. And she's not wrong!.Crew was so polite and kind especially joe and Jennifer. Magnificent duo! Jennifer recommendation was great! And Joe's service is the best,. Manager even came in to ask about everything..it was my first time there. And I love the sushi station the most ?Will definitely be coming back there with my fam..“
“This was the best dining experience of my life. The multidimensional balance of flavour, texture, and temperature was an experience that delighted the senses in a new way for me. We did the full omakase and sake pairing. It's worth every cent. Staff and service were perfectly refined and welcoming. Thanks Yasu!! I will return for sure“
“so far i’d say this is the best sushi i’ve had in toronto! very high quality ingredients, very reasonably priced for what you get. perfect portion sizes and they have lots of creative rolls! and the vegetarian options go way beyond the standard fare. the service is always incredibly friendly! extra points for the presentation always being beautiful and unique compared to other sushi places. i’ll always go here to pick up sushi for special occasions!“
“Koi Japan sushi was my first experience having pocket sushi! ?The service was really good, especially since we came on a chill day. We had the Koi lover for two. Which included : - 6 pcs of Pocket Sushi - Customer’s Choices- 2 Miso Soups- Takoyaki- House Salads for CAD $48.We thought it was a pretty good deal for two people. The soup, salad, and takoyaki were yummy and well proportioned. For the pocket sushi, I honestly don’t remember every single one but I remember that the spicy torched salmon was my favorite. As we ate the pocket sushi we were confused because it was cold, but I suppose that’s how it’s meant to taste which threw us for a loop. So, that left not the best impression of pocket sushi because it’s breaded and the bread was cold. So maybe if they heated it up for a while, it would be better but all in all I had a good experience. Check it out for yourself!“
“Staff were very nice and accommodating for our large group. Options for sushi and dim sum are good and tasty. You will need to reserve a table if you have a large group, there's a 90 minute seating time, and tip is automatically included if you have more than 6 people.“
“The variety of cocktails is good ($3 off special on Wednesdays), and the quantity and quality of the food is really good. It's different from the gangly bars around here. I really enjoyed the meal. The server here was really friendly and everything he recommended on the menu was delicious. I think I'll want to come here often when Dantan comes :)SO ADORABLE STAFFS AND FOOD.I'D LOVE TO RETURN THIS PLACE!!“
“First ever omakase experience and it did not disappoint. Favourite part was most definitely the sushi round which served individual pieces at a time to patrons. Each sushi was unique to its own with specific ingredients procured from different regions of the world. Time passed by too quickly as I could’ve eaten more. Given the process of serving food, dining etiquette was at first confusing for a first time noob like myself but I quickly adapted to the experienced patrons near me. The staff here is also exceptionally kind as my wife mentioned it was my birthday and the chef presented me an extra piece of sushi with a candle. Turns out you can also let them know ahead of time and they’ll generously prepare a piece of birthday cake. All in all it was a great experience and a definite recommendation for sushi lovers and foodies alike.“
“I just made my fourth visit to Maru today. Honestly, the quality of the food here doesn't match the prices - they're incredibly reasonable. I never imagined getting this level of quality at these prices.Located near the stunning beaches of Toronto, this restaurant has become a favorite spot of mine for unforgettable dining experiences. The chef at Maru is truly talented, crafting dishes that are both delicious and visually stunning. From the moment you step inside, the welcoming staff makes you feel right at home.Every dish is bursting with flavor, showcasing the chef's passion for creating memorable experiences. Whether it's their signature dishes or the chef's daily specials, each bite is a delight.I LOVE MARU and highly recommend it to anyone reading my review. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! Make sure to give this restaurant a try!“
“Great atmosphere, went early on a friday evening, and the restaurant was almost all to ourselves. They have a tablet system on the tables to order, wish is nice if you forgot to order something. Good food, fairly cheap for what you get. Would go again.“
“This is the best! The premium menu was perfect; food was delicious and fresh, and the place is nice and spacious. The best of all was the staff though. They are super nice and helpful, and they are always around to help. Definitely will come back with my friends!!!“
“Discovering this quaint restaurant was an absolute delight! Despite its size, the quality of every dish surpassed our expectations. Each ingredient tasted remarkably fresh, a testament to the chef's commitment to excellence. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the warmth and hospitality of the owner. Their genuine kindness added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a memorable culinary adventure. It's the kind of place you can't help but share with friends, knowing they'll appreciate the exceptional dining experience as much as you did.“
“We spent our 4 year anniversary tonight at Sushi Masaki Saito. It was beyond an incredible experience. The detailed information we learned about the unique ingredients and the techniques to produce them was remarkable. Chef Saito was very engaging, informative and extremely personable. The service was extremely friendly, impeccable and instinctively attentive. What a lavish and luxurious event. We would like to profoundly thank Chef Saito and his excellent staff for such an unforgettable and delightful experience.“
“This is my secret place to grab a beer and hang out with friends, beers currently at $4.95. The ambiance is great, very cozy and kinda relaxing. The staff is very welcoming. About the food, I've only tried the sushi once and it was really good! I do highly recommend this place!“
“Have been here twice: once for my partner’s work party and then again for a follow up dinner to try more of the menu! The atmosphere is really cool, with unique graffiti and decor that is modern and lively. The servers are knowledgeable and the dishes are tasty. Definitely a place to come and share plates to try more of the menu. The mix of Peruvian/Japanese cuisine is unique. Just note that this is not a cheap night out.“
“I have been to this store twice now, and I pretty much timed my second trip to Toronto to ensure it was within the operating hours of this location- it's incredibly clean, the selection of fish/ the cuts are quite impressive and freshness cannot be beat, they also regularly stock nishin kazunoko which is a personal fav. As well as frozen selection of frozen specialties I tried a $12 bowl of chirashi to tie us over while we brought our fish to build hone and it was very fresh and tasty as well.Ps their bathroom is magnificent“
“Came her with GF and daughter, had a lovely experience. They both got sushi rolls and loved it. As I don't eat seafood, I got chicken Karaage for the table and chicken Katsu. Both were delicious. It was surprising that this restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived. We were the only guests for about 15-20 minutes, minus pick up orders. This restaurant is great. It's definitely worth coming to if you want sushi.9/10 would recommend.Parking: Small parking infront of store, paid street parking on Dupont“
“Fantastic. When I went it was takeout only it seems. I've tried so many sushi restaurants in Toronto. The price is okay, but mostly important the sushi itself is excellent. The taste of the rice is something I argue is actually one of the most important things and they've got it bang on. This will likely become my go to place in my area.“
“I don't know what it is exactly, maybe the seasoning in the rice, maybe the quality of the tempura, but this is some of the best sushi I've ever had in my life. I often get the grab and go boxes and i'm never disappointed. You can tell it's made with care and love <3“
“Great little sushi place - always have fast friendly service, food is excellent, and when people stand up to leave all the staff say "goodbye, thank you for coming". It feels like when you leave a family member's house and everyone says goodbye at the front door :)“
“It’s a must go if you are in Toronto or near the Chefs Hall, located in a quiet and cosy corner, Iwami gave us a fantastic lunch experience. Everything is so fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Tommy the Chef is so passionate about cooking and serving the clients, his creativity and talent are well demonstrated in the selection of ingredients and different layers of flavor. Highly recommended for casual lunch or dinner. Will go back for sure next time when I am in Toronto.“
“We ordered for the first time here for Sushi platter A and also a scallop roll. We heard good things about this market and it's close by. The presentation is what is neat about this place, I really like the box they use. The actual sushi, very tasty and soft fish, although I feel like they could lower the price as it was around $70 for a platter that was enough for 3 people. The food itself is slightly above average, I'm not sure if the ingredients are fully fresh but the rolls have a nice taste and crunch. Again, the presentation was nice which made it different. The lineups for pick up for quite busy though and very limited seating.“
“i got the lunch bento ! korokke + spicy salmon kappa + seaweed salad + two fish tacos ! fish tacos were so yummy and i love their korokke. the lunch bento deal is still a little insane with tax + tips but it does help my The Haam cravings! i really recommend the fish tacos tho, they were very yummy.“
“An unforgettable and memorable evening - from food to music to service, it was perfect. What made it simply exceptional was the outstanding service which is a rarity in Toronto. Samantha knocked it of the park and I would go back just to see her smiling face. Her recommendations were on point and she truly made our night. My bestie and I were going through a tough time and her amazing vibe let us escape our woes for that one evening. Harriet’s should be lucky to have such great ambassadors be a part of the business! Definitely going back!“
“I’ve been going to tatsu almost every Saturday for a year now and I can honestly say it rescues my weekends. Perfect sushi every time, service-oriented staff, and so fast. I will never hold another sushi place over it, loyal forever… tatsu till I die #“
“Braved a snowstorm for sushi and was not disappointed! Super fresh, packaged nicely, delicious and great value for the prices. Indulged in miso soup, seaweed salad, torched salmon and California rolls. I got takeaway, but peeked into their seating area and super modern and clean aesthetic. Will definitely be back again for my next sushi fix! ? ?“
“I only ended up here because the staff down the street at Kyouka was so unwelcoming and rude. Here, the woman behind the sushi bar was smiling and saying hello before I even had the door all the way open.I read another review that mentioned it’s a family run business - and their customer service is excellent. The tonkastu ramen was delicious. All the staff, including the sushi chef, were super lovely.Go here.“
“Kind staff. Had the salmon set, was pretty good. The salmon sushi doesn't melt in your mouth like higher quality salmon. The spicy salmon maki was good as always. Miso soup is also great as always. From previous experiences, their don bowls are okay, no intense flavour.Would recommend if in the area craving sushi.“
“The servers were very friendly, interactive, and responsive. Gave good recommendations.Food was very tasty with good presentation! But was a but small for the size, I could have eaten triple without issue.Nice interior design, music and ambiance although the tables were a bit small. Was good.“
“Was looking for a new source of tasty kimbap near work. Mission accomplished! Took a bit of effort to locate the food court, but now I know and will definitely come back. Kimbap was delicious, fresh, and tasted like home made with love. Should have taken a photo but ate it too quickly! A great find!“
“I absolutely love this place. I've been coming here for many years now and everything always meets expectations. Servers are always friendly, the food is always delicious, and it's such a cozy place. The sushi, gyoza, and noodles never disappoint.“
“Spicy Maki Set and Red Dragon - omg chef’s kiss! They are not messing around with the taste and quality. Devoured the whole thing in minutes.Went around 8:30pm on a week night and they’d closed dine in, only allowed takeout. Which honestly makes great sense for the folks working there, then they’re really closed at 9 and going home. Even though we ordered takeout, they still let us sit and wait inside. If you want an ambience, might not be the best place for you. They’re there to serve amazing food and they’re nailing it.“
“Offering a wonderful variety of beautifully presented Japanese dishes including certain options like fish roe and scallops which are not typically offered elsewhere, this restaurant provides not only a tasty affordable experience, but also a unique one!“
“We were in Toronto to catch a show on College street. We came here before hand to have some sushi and a couple beers and we were both blown away. A small intimate space with wonderful food and service.Wheelchair accessibility: The only concern would be that the bathrooms are located downstairs making it not accessible to those with wheelchairs“
“I have been a loyal customer of JA Bistro for years, and I can confidently say that it is one of the best Japanese restaurants in town. Every time I dine here, I am always left satisfied and impressed by the quality of the food and service. My absolute favorite dishes at JA Bistro are the aburi salmon and aburi shrimp sushi. The way they perfectly torch and sear the fish just elevates the flavors to a whole new level. The freshness of the ingredients is always evident, and the presentation is always impeccable. The staff at JA Bistro are always welcoming and attentive, making sure that every dining experience is a memorable one. They are knowledgeable about the menu and are always happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. If you are a fan of aburi sushi, I can confidently say that JA Bistro makes the best ones. The flavours are outstanding, and the texture is just perfect. I highly recommend trying them out if you haven't already.Overall, JA Bistro is a gem of a restaurant that never disappoints. Whether you are a regular like me or a first-time visitor, you are sure to have a fantastic dining experience. I will continue to dine at JA Bistro for years to come and look forward to enjoying more of their delicious offerings.“
“Amazing food , amazing waitress , amazing atmosphere We have been here for the first time and definitely recommend this place.Everything was so tasty and the lady that attended us was super friendly ❤️❤️❤️Love it, love it, love it !!“
“Vegan sushi deserves much more recognition here in Toronto, tenon sushi is a good beginning but quite not what I had in other cities. Not sure why the restaurant was so empty, food was good and the server was lovely. My favorite was the tenon special roll! They have a very extensive menu, and it’s nice to have so many vegan options (not so many gluten free ones though)Overall we had a nice dinner and we definitely want to go back and try more stuff from the menu.“
“This place is excellent in so many ways, great staff. Amazing sushi and their hot bowl that they added to the menu recently is so good and such a fair price.I used to live near by and been going there a lot, but the quality of this place made me go back even when I don’t live close to there. Recommending it so much.“
“We went here for dinner last night and it was amazing. The quality of fish was excellent. We appreciate the attention to detail the restaurant adds to their dishes (fried garlic on sushi, please keep doing this…it’s very tasty!)Order for 2:- Sushi boat - comes with sashimi, sushi and rolls- Torched salmon was absolutely great way to end the mealCan’t wait to back here again. Staff is attentive and always greeting you with a smile! You can tell this place is a locals favourite, there were many walk ins and pickups while we we were dining in.“
“Every dish was fresh, and the sushi in particular was exceptionally flavorful. The staff were extremely friendly and showed great consideration for their customers. The atmosphere and quality of service were truly impressive. I highly recommend Kibo Sushi and would give it five stars without hesitation!“
“I ate my fill of quality sushi/rolls at an affordable price. I don't think I've ever seen a restaurant like this since I've been here They're really friendly and I'm very satisfied with the price and quality overall, so I think I'll go there often!“
“I just tried it for the first time and EVERYTHING is AMAZING! From the friendly service, the taste of the food and the atmosphere, 5 star review! This is a must try when in liberty village, food super fresh and delicious this is legit sushi I’m super glad I found this treasure!“
“Small place with a big personality and delicious sushi. Staff are very kind and friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs. My go-to sushi restaurant. Sushi is delicious and in good portions for a great price. My favourites are the Vegan Flex and Seared Salmon Dragon !“
“I went here with a group to celebrate a friend's birthday: a friendly atmosphere and modern place. Service was on point, and it was clear that they took pride in their work. Cocktails were well made, and beers were poured nicely.I think our server's name was Brian. He was friendly and helped describe the dishes. Everyone received their meals in a timely matter. It was clear that he was well experienced and organized throughout our dining experience. Separating checks at the end was quite and seemless. The dishes were delicious, fresh, tasty and well presented. We shared a few of the dishes so I was able to try a few of their offerings. One of the dishes I had was poached salmon with greens, mushrooms in a delightful spicy broth. It was good, though it seemed overcooked. Maybe that was the style?Overall being it my first time at this restaurant, I enjoyed my experience. I wouldn't mind coming here again with friends.Photos• Miso Soup• Daily 9pcs, 3 type Sashimi• Atlantic Salmon Mushiyaki“
“I discovered O Sushi almost 4 years ago, and I don't go anywhere else. We're on a first name basis now ? Never have I been disappointed with the quality, or the skill. The value is excellent. As all of us know, everything is getting more expensive, and we're experiencing shrinkflation as well, but he doesn't do that. I've asked him to just charge more if need be, but don't change what you do.. and he hasn't.??“
“This restaurant is such a gem! I dined in for dinner. I got the aburi oshi sampler, salmon ngiri, and the salmon oshi sushi. It was delicious! The flame sear technique is fire ? (pun intended). The affogato is great - heads up that the jasmine ice cream is light in flavor and was overpowered by the espresso. It came with a matcha cake, which was a nice surprise. The NA Toji Fizz was not my taste, but great service and food overall!“
“Holy Mackerel and they don't even have mackerel on the menu! This is a top notch sushi joint! Went with our friends who are in from Florida for a funeral. They needed a pick me up so we wanted to take them out for a nice afternoon and show them "the Big Smoke". The nice fellow behind the counter made us all kinds of fish I've never even heard of! We tried butterfish, yellowfin tuna, and barbecued eel. Well let me tell you, each fish that came out was better than the next. That EEL is the REAL DEAL. The salmon was so good that I had to order more. Dorothy liked it too. Next time will bring our nephew Stephen. From now on I am on a SEA FOOD diet, when I SEE FOOD from Sushi on Gerrard, I am going to eat it!“
“Our family has been going here for close to 10 years now, and throughout those years we never had any negative experiences.I can vouch for the whole menu, everything they make is top notch. The sushi and the rolls, we have yet to find any that come close in comparison. The environment is nice and cozy - perfect for family outings or dates with your special other.I can't but sing praises about this place. It's a gem that's kind of hidden away.“
“The menu at Sushi on the Run is a concise selection of sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri, catering to a variety of tastes. What impressed me most was the freshness of the ingredients, evident in every bite. The rolls were expertly crafted, showcasing a perfect balance of flavors and textures.True to its name, Sushi on the Run delivers a swift dining experience without compromising on taste. The efficient service ensures that you can enjoy a satisfying sushi fix even during a short lunch break or on a busy day. The staff is friendly and accommodating, making the ordering process seamless and quick.“
“This place should open up its separate restaurant given their freshness and quality. They are a hidden gem located inside a convenience store in downtown, but they have better sushi than many other sushi restaurants I’ve tried. Definitely a recommend.“
“I went here last night and from making the reservation to paying the bill, everything was amazing. When creating the reservation I had asked to be seated somewhere more intimate or quiet because I was nervous about the noise level of being in the middle of the floor. They accomodated this and we were seated in a quieter section which I really appreciated. Our reservation was for 5:45 and their Happy Hour specials ended at 6, so we grabbed a couple apps when we got there. Our waitress came by around 5:55 and told us they were doing a last call for Happy Hour, which I thought was really sweet! The food was PHENOMENAL. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Hand Roll, Firecracker Wings, Chick’n Fried Mushrooms, and the Unagi Eggplant Nigiri. All of those apps were so scrumptious and had complex flavours and textures. My partner, who is not vegan, absolutely loved the Chick’n Fried Mushrooms. We also ordered the Spaghettini Carbonara as an entree to share, and when it came out we had to dig in right away because the smell was mouthwatering. The carbonara is amazing, especially for non-vegans, because you cannot tell that there is no meat or dairy in it! The staff was super accommodating and kind, which took the experience above and beyond. I understand that this is a lengthy review so thank you if you read it all the way through, but take this as your sign to try out Planta Yorkville!!!“
