Salmon Lover: salmon sashimi, salmon nigiri and spicy salmon roll. Salmon was so fatty and fresh, and super thick!!Green Dragon Roll: Dynamic roll with avo on top. I'd say the shrimp tempura was thinly battered. It's creamy and slightly crunchy. I quite like it!Overall I'm not disappointed at all. I'm impressed that it's of good quality. You order from ipads and the food comes out at lightning speed. There's also a cold apps/ salad bar that is self serve, along with some soup and dessert. Ayce dinner during the weekday is $39.99 per adult. The menu is huge with lots of options to pick from, ranging from raw to cooked. Some of the items I liked were: - Ichiban roll - Assortment of sashimi - Takoyaki - Steamed egg - Garlic beef cubes - Roasted wings - Kalbi - Grilled mackerel You can expect the food here to be your typical ayce quality. “A lunch experience to remember!My wife and I went to Sushi Gin to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful experience. It was difficult to find a sushi restaurant that served lunch omakses so I’m lucky to have found Sushi Gin. The décor, service, and food were all sublime and top notch. We ordered the lunch Omakase which comes with 7 dishes. Highlights were:Décor – Japanese minimalism / zen-like interior that was simple, orderly, uncluttered, and sleek. There are no individual tables other than the wrap around table surrounding the sushi bar which makes for an intimate experience. I loved the double-sided chop sticks, the cutlery, and the display of sushi knives just in front of us.Service – I must apologize for not asking for names but the servers were kind, knowledgeable, and eager to help. Upon arrival, we were nicely greeted and taken to our seats. They pulled out / pushed in our chairs and helped us put our coats on the back of the chairs. Tea was always topped up before we needed to ask, dishes were explained, and were always there to answer questions of any nature. I also noticed that our main server walked around and ensured that the utensils and chairs were perfectly aligned when not servicing the customers. Top notch. The same amazing service can be said for our chef who prepared each of the sushi related dishes right in front of us with his amazing skills. He explained each piece of nigiri and answered all our questions with patience and experience.Food – All 7 courses were delicious. The miso soup was light and seemed to have a fish type broth (very nice). The salad was the right temperature (not overtly cold like other restaurants) and excellently paired with potato salad to give it a creamier texture. The fried octopus appetizer was one of my favorites as it had perfect crispness and seasoned to perfection. The Chawanmushi was a first for me and I loved it. Besides the excellent taste, I also loved the small spoon that came with it. As for the sushi, the chef expertly created 10 pieces of Nigiri one-by-one with some of the following fish: Kinmedai, kampachi, salmon, akami, otoro, and uni. The nigiri was paired with their house made picked ginger which was refreshing. Loved how the chef brushed the house made soy sauce onto the sushi rice prior to serving them on our plates to ensure optimal soy sauce to rice ratio. The hand roll was next and was filled with diced otoro - Yum! The dessert was Tamago and I enjoyed it quite a bit considering it wasn’t overtly sweet, like many are. Finally, as a special surprise, they served us a delicious chocolate cake plus a cheesecake mousse. Thank you for the kind birthday gesture.Upon leaving the restaurant, they helped with our chairs and coats again, while opening the doors for us on the way out. Impeccable service and food Sushi Gin. “First ever omakase experience and it did not disappoint. Favourite part was most definitely the sushi round which served individual pieces at a time to patrons. Each sushi was unique to its own with specific ingredients procured from different regions of the world. Time passed by too quickly as I could’ve eaten more. Given the process of serving food, dining etiquette was at first confusing for a first time noob like myself but I quickly adapted to the experienced patrons near me. The staff here is also exceptionally kind as my wife mentioned it was my birthday and the chef presented me an extra piece of sushi with a candle. Turns out you can also let them know ahead of time and they’ll generously prepare a piece of birthday cake. All in all it was a great experience and a definite recommendation for sushi lovers and foodies alike.“

Overall, all the tables and the washroom were clean. Ordered tempura vegetables and shrimp with 6 pieces total was only around $9. This tempura tasted truly delicious compared to other pricier restaurants! They were very accommodating with changing spicy salmon roll to dynamite roll in the dinner sushi sets for me since I don't eat spicy food. “Honestly the best sushi places I’ve ever gone. I’m not much of a sushi lover, I go to the occasional Japanese restaurant and get maybe a couple of pieces but they never really fit my palette. Like places like Ichiban, or Sushi Moto, etc were never really interesting. But after discovering this absolute whole in the wall I can’t stop eating. As I’m writing this in the past 24 hours I’ve basically eaten half a platter of their sushi completely on my own. The staff are all amazing people always having an amazing time and really make you feel included and appreciated as a customer. I now go on an almost daily to weekly basis and always order the spicy or the creamy crab rolls exclusively but their huge platters are amazing for parties and gatherings. “Loved the sushi here, everything was really fresh and came quickly. Staff was very polite and kind. We got the Aburi sushi tray, Seared spicy mix, Seared ebi salmon, Hakata miso butter ramen with thick noodles and Chicken Karaage. Originally we thought it wouldn’t be enough but we had left overs. Portions were good, they even give us a cute mini bottle of soy sauce for our left overs. My favorite was the seared spicy mix, definitely want to try their sashimi trays next time. They also give complementary salad and ice cream. They do have a 1 and half hour seating limit for groups smaller than 4. Would definitely recommend making reservations before going.“

We got the three ways of salmon don.In the bowl there was plain sashimi, a torched salmon and a diced marinated salmon. It also had a few green veggies, a piece of shrimp and a soft boiled egg.The salmon was very high quality. The torched salmon was extremely soft and had a melt in your mouth quality. I do not usually enjoy soft boiled eggs but this one was quite good and added a refreshing feel to the meal. I would highly recommend this dish!“

“FEB24 -Very sad about my sushi order today. The sushi tasted like soap. We ordered 3 rolls and one salmon sashimi. The sashimi was fine but all 3 rolls had a soap tinge to it. Almost like they put hand cream or there was soap residue in the rice/fillings of the roll. Super weird and off putting. We spent $40 on the sushi and ended up throwing it out since the taste was so strong. We love going here usually the quality of food and taste is pretty good, but today was not the case. We called the restaurant to let them know so hopefully it doesn’t happen again. They mentioned they put lemon in the rice but this definitely did not taste natural at all, very artificial and strange taste. we ordered it from Uber eats so still waiting to see if we can get refunded or not.EDITED- FEB25Editing my review to 5 stars. I received a call from the restaurant apologizing for the experience yesterday. They provided a re-do of the entire meal to make up for the experience and it tasted amazing. Not sure what happened yesterday, but seeing how the owner and staff took such great care of actually investigating and following up, shows that they truly care about their customer experience and takes feedback seriously. Things happen, and if they did not do anything it would have been very upsetting but because of this high level focus on customer experience I will definitely coming back again. I really appreciated this gesture as not many restaurants are willing to accommodate outside food which I completely understand. Needless to say, service is impeccable and warm at this restaurant.The food is a notch above any Japanese restaurant in the GTA. The tempura is simple but obviously well executed. We ordered a sashimi platter both times but tried other dishes too like the fried soft shell crab which was very delicate and easy to eat for people too lazy to crack a shell. It's a small restaurant so the food does take longer but I think the pace is more relaxed and suited to the atmosphere :) the price reflects the diversity of their ingredients and dishes as I don't think there are many places serving monkfish liver and deep fried crab alongside imported sashimi. If it were light, it would be like seeing a new color never seen before. After this, my pallette was reset with a creamy tofu dish that had a hint of Wasabi.If the sashimi was any fresher, the fish would be swimming its way to the table. “I have always liked their sushi in the north. My favorite is J San Sushi. But in recent years, the packaging has become more and more low-key. Today, the takeout bag is just a white plastic bag... I was given two chopsticks and tissues, but I was only given one for a large box of sushi. The wasabi that was small enough to stick on chopsticks and the soy sauce that was only one-fifth of the box was not enough for one person... It is difficult for me to give a five-star review. The packaging is far from worthy of the price and is a bit petty.“
