We tried the popular pork katsu bento and was very impressed with the amount of katsu that was included. There were three large pork chops that were crispy and fresh, and came with some rice, cabbage and soup. The pork was cooked well though I found the breading to be a bit thick in some spots. The value is excellent for $12.
This First Markham Place food court gem usually has the crispiest katsu, paired with good sauce, sushi rice, coleslaw, and soup or water for just $12 (tax included - cash only). It takes time to make, so expect a wait. While our last visit was a major disappointment with dry, over-fried pork, we're hoping it was just a one-off and will definitely try it again.
Ordered Pork katsu with rice, came with miso soup. Lots of pork, even teenagers cannot finished the dish. Cashier lady was very friendly and polite. Highly recommend.
