“Wow, the food here is amazing! The rolls are made with such high quality and fresh ingredients, and very flavourful. Ordered the president’s choice and salmon magic rolls - a crispy savoury delight for sure.

Also ordered the takoyaki appetizer which was delicious, crispy outside and fluffy inside just like it should be. Not only are the placement of dishes impressive, the taste is indeed remarkable.

Service was also friendly and welcoming. 😊

“My family and I had our Mother's Day dinner there tonight, and despite how incredibly busy it was for dine-in (it was the busiest I've ever seen it there), plus all the online pickup orders, the wait staff was not frazzled, stressed out, rushing, and maintained a polite, friendly, and accommodating attitude to everyone who was bursting through the doors.

I was very impressed by the customer service during a crazy busy night, though not perfect, I had to wait a couple of minutes despite having reserved a table beforehand and arriving a few minutes earlier. There were others who have booked reservations and had to wait longer for their tables. But it was Mother's Day! And the place being super packed says it all.“

“This was our first time at Takumi and we are pretty happy with this place. We order a platter and tempura appy. The restaurant didn’t look busy but there were a lot orders coming in for delivery or pick up. The platter took longer than we hoped but it is Friday night. We have been noticing that orders coming in take precedent over orders taken from customers dining in.
Overall, the fish was very fresh and the sashimi was cut generously. We enjoyed ourselves and will probably come back.“

Service is great, as well as the ambiance. We were given a separate room that four to six people fits.

Their Winter Tray is such a great deal — generous portions, great variety, and always delicious. The new Winter Tray B deal makes it even better! Staff are friendly and pickup is always quick. “The most affordable sushi in the area, including the one in Hillcrest Mall. Eating in is always a nice and quiet experience. The lunch special is a great deal, two types of rolls and a soup. I ordered two different sushi rolls (don’t remember the exact names 😅), and both were so good. One had mango, which gave it a fresh and slightly sweet twist—I really loved that one. The other one was creamy, rich, and super tasty.

“Awesome place. I haven't had celiac friendly sushi for a very long time. I am very sensitive and get really sick if I eat any gluten or even something cross-contaminated. Tomo Japanese Restaurant was a great experience in terms of food, service, atmosphere, and above all safety for me and my son. People with Celiac and NCGS, Tomo is a really nice place with safe gluten-free food, highly recommended. :)“

So fresh and the sushi rice is perfectly cooked and prepared!
The quality and the portion are amazingly great! It is such a hidden gem in the neighbourhood!! The staff were so kind and attentive as well.

“Such a pleasant surprise and honestly a lifesaver. The sushi is fresh and well-prepared, especially the tempura rolls, which are consistently great. The end-of-day avocado, yam, and tuna rolls are also a fantastic deal and still very tasty. Even with the discounts, the quality stays consistent.

The staff are polite and welcoming, making the experience even better. It’s also a good thing this place is walkable from our new place, even in the winter, so we’ll definitely keep coming back.“
