“The restaurant, service and food at this restaurant was good. However the only downside is that the customers are literally asked to pay a tip. During this difficult period of the pandemic, it is hard to leave a tip. It should be optional but if you do not tip, you are sort of asked "why no tip". This becomes odd and the customer should be given the discretion to tip. This is the reason, I am giving 4 stars to this restaurant.“

“We visit Genji Sushi several times a month for business lunches, and it consistently delivers the perfect combination of exceptional food, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding service.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, creating a comfortable yet professional setting that's ideal for both business meetings and casual dining. The sushi and other dishes are always fresh, high quality, and beautifully presented.

One tip: if you're planning to visit during the lunch rush, it's definitely worth making a reservation. This place is popular for a reason, and walking in without one can be hit or miss.

“Tried out J Sans downtown location and decided to give the north york one a try. There is a spacious dining area and the staff were welcoming. The sushi was delicious and fresh as per usual. Favourite combos include the torched sushi combos! Definitely will visit lots in the future.“

“Food is 10/10!! I went here for my birthday and had been eyeing the place before. The waitress was really accommodating and kind. I ordered the Salmon Combo. It comes with sashimi, nigiri and spicy salmon roll. I also ordered a spicy crab hand roll. The spice is real. I had to take a few moments before continuing. The combo comes with salad and miso soup which really helped with the spicy mayo. The sashimi was such a beautiful colour, you probably can’t tell because the camera washes it out. The sashimi is so buttery and just melts in your mouth. Presentation is 10/10. It was so worth it to come. Would 100% come back again.“

Fresh sushi and Japanese owed which is hard to find in Toronto (mostly Korean owned). They import their Chu Toro Tuna from Japan and it is exquisite. This is a gem in Toronto, a must try.“

The absolute highlight was their flounder sushi (Hirame / Gwang-eo)—the fish was exceptionally fresh, sweet, and delicate with that signature subtle chewiness that only top-quality flatfish delivers. Next day we had the shrimp, although I liked the Salmon better, it's good as well. It seems expensive, but you gotta think of the ingredients. Not to mention the generous amount. Thank you! 😋💕“

“Really enjoyed the BBQ Eel Lover Party Tray from A Sushi! It comes with 28 pieces and a nice variety of eel sushi and rolls. The eel was tender and flavorful, and I especially liked the seared eel sushi and avocado rolls. Everything was freshly made, and the portion was great for sharing with friends.“

“I've been to Matsuda numerous times over the past 5 years ago and other than during pandemic when they had tables set up in their broken down parking lot with plastic bags tied to each table, serving food in take out containers and only serving cans of pop the experience has been great. On my last visit about 3 weeks ago they were open again as per normal with their lovely decor and great food. The only issue was towards the end my friend ordered a few more items and we waited forever for them to come - we thought they had lost the order so he put in another order of the exact same items. Again it was not delivered to our table so we shrugged and ordered dessert and was half way through when finally his food order came which was about 30 minutes after he ordered (generally food comes in 5 minutes or 10 minutes tops) so he had to eat it and then the second order came which he also had to eat. I can understand if they were busy and behind in their orders but you would think our server would have advised us - I took away one point due to that reason otherwise a great meal and evening!“

Honestly, I would like to try to eat in the restaurant to see how the service is and also see the portion of food being served. Overall, it was good.
