“Came on Sunday, around 12-1pm. It was a bit busy so we had to wait for a table but I was excited because I’ve been watching the culinary class wars show!
Service is really fast because they use iPads to take orders, but also the staff were really kind and lovely.
Overall, the food was pretty good but I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute best. I mainly tried the jajang (black bean sauce noodle) and the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour deep fried pork).
The jajang noodles have an amazing texture, and the sauce is creamy, but I had to add a bit of soy sauce. The tangsuyuk had a nice sauce, but I wish it was a bit crispier.
I definitely recommend anyone who comes to this restaurant to get a noodle dish or one of their popular dishes. We ordered other dishes such as a fried rice which was just decent. The table beside us enjoyed the popular dishes but barely touched their soup. :(
I also wish there were more non-pork options,, it seems like Paik really loves pork.“

“Restaurant Review: A Must-Try for Korean Fried Chicken Lovers
I recently visited this Korean restaurant in Toronto, and it was fantastic! Their fried chicken is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. The variety of sauces, especially the soy garlic is incredible.
What truly stood out was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with big smiles and were super attentive, making me feel right at home. If you’re craving delicious Korean fried chicken and great service, this is the spot to visit!“

“A pretty busy korean restaurant. We get there around 6 pm, there's still some tables available. But after 7 pm, it's full. My first time went there, because friends recommend trying this. Overall, the food is good. Extra spicy is really spicy! So if u like it, go for it extra spicy. The portion is big. U can refill the side dishes. Their signature dish is $44/plate and can be mix&match flavors.“

“On a reco from someone from Korea and who can make gimbap herself, I ventured out to find this recommended gimbap place after finding about the Korean dish from a TV show. I gotta say that I was impressed by the size of the roll and the quality for the price. Two rolls is a lot of food. One is enough; two is maybe gluttonous.
Telling the front staff that this was my first time there, she recommended the Kimchi Tuna Gimbap and then the Bulgogi Gimbap. The rolls were well-presented and were indeed delicious. Based on the quickly forming line-up for a weekday lunch, this place is clearly a favourite in the neighbourhood.“

P.S. Forgot to take a picture of the food because hunger. Please enjoy the picture of the potato side dish, the best side dish.“

“I cant peak enough about the food at this place. it's by far the best value for your money. Not only is the food delicious but the portions are very reasonable for the $ they ask. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich.. you'll never go anywhere else for chicken again. Their Kim Bap is really good option. Very fresh and very healthy, my wife lives off them!!“

“This place is a restaurant that beautifully captures the traditional atmosphere of Korea. The ambiance is not too noisy, making it perfect for enjoying dinner and conversation. Every dish was delicious, with the quality of the meat being particularly outstanding. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.“

“I absolutely love coming here with my friends! As a multicultural group, it is often not easy to find restaurants we all enjoy. However, we all love this place! There is not too much seating area so there is sometimes a bit of a wait, but is so worth it. Prices are fair.“

“Very delicious food and staff is very helpful! Big fan of the corn cheese here, out of all the places I’ve been to, they do it the best. Pasta was also very tasty and packed with flavour. The only thing is the restaurant is a little loud during peak hours so if you don’t enjoy that, make sure to come during off hours. Can’t wait to try more food here!“

“I ordered the Jjajang + Jjamppong + Sweet and Sour Pork set, and changed the Jjajang to Gan Jjajang by paying an extra $3.
- Sweet and sour pork: These days, most people eat sweet and sour pork with glutinous rice, but this place is really old-fashioned sweet and sour pork. When you take a bite, the meat is firmly encased in the batter.
-Jjamppong: The soup is really delicious and the vegetables are cooked well and crunchy. It's a bit sweet, but still delicious, so I'm planning to try jjamppong rice next time.
- Ganjjajang: They gave me a lot of sauce, so I was greedy and poured it all, but it was a bit salty haha. Onions and meat were generously added. If you want to eat soy sauce, I recommend that you don't be greedy like me and adjust the seasoning little by little!
Overall it was delicious, and I plan to visit again.“
“I received stone rice cake (3 types) from a friend today. I found out why I asked what time the pickup would be when I placed my order. The rice cake was warm and delicious, as if it had been made and delivered on time. They beautifully engraved the words 'First Birthday' on the rice cake cake for free, and there were plenty of songpyeon and sorghum red bean rice cakes. I was moved. thank you The price was also better than other places. I highly recommend it?“

“A really good find that we stumbled across. Really cute little wooden benches inside, and the server was extremely nice. Very reasonable prices for great seafood, and excellent japchae. They were willing to do additions and substitutions, and delivered my request to make my food extremely spicy. However, the fried chicken was a little bit stale and bland. The side dishes were all really delicious and the portions were generous.“

“Was craving Korean food and wanted to try this place. Ordered Dol Sor Koryo Bibimbap (20.99$) and it was delicious! They have a great variety of side dishes as well. Only thing was the service, it was great but had to keep reminding the staff three times for the bill as they kept forgetting.“

“My go-to place for warm Korean tofu soup. We usually go to be one in downtown Toronto but this place has parking! Truly wonderful.
In any case, you can expect the same flavor of soup. The seafood was still as we remembered, as were the side dishes. They also offered pork bone soup and while the meat was soft and delicious, the soup was on the saltier side.
Finally, this may be a plus for some but this store doesn't scoop the rice and pour water into the stone pot for you, like in the other chain. Here you can choose not to do so if you want to enjoy the crispy rice on the bottom layer.“

“I had samgyetang and it was really, really delicious!!!
After eating it all, the owner made porridge and added some meseng, so it was so delicious!
I was really grateful that they even provided yogurt and water kimchi for me. I will come again next time.“

“We were craving some good jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and this place hit the spot. Would recommend the family jajangmyeon for two where you get the smoky black bean sauce that is pan fried with seafood :)
We also had the tang su yuk which is the crispy fried pork with Korean sweet and sour sauce. It was delicious. Would recommend getting the sauce on the side so you can dip the crispy fried pork into the sweet and sour sauce each time.“

“Cute Korean restaurant about 3-5 min walk from Finch Subway station. Tip: exit through the passenger pickup area of Finch station if you're walking, that's the closest exit to the restaurant. I came here specifically to try their Ganjang Gejang (raw blue crab marinated in soy sauce), it seems that they might be the only restaurant that serves this dish in Toronto, that I could find and know of. There is a very slight fishy smell when I sniffed it, which is expected since it's raw crab, but when I was eating it, I didn't find it fishy at all, it was really delicious. The crab roe was soft and rich, the meat was smooth and fresh, everything went really well with the rice. I can see why this dish is called a rice thief now. I was really tempted to order another bowl of rice but on account of my diet I stopped myself. I would definitely try this dish again. I also ordered the kimchi stew and my friend got a spicy beef soup. Although it was not as outstanding as the Ganjang Gejang, Both were delicious and portions were good. The side dishes were good as well. Not sure if there's free refills or not since we didn't ask for any. The service was good, it's a smaller shop, seems like it's family owned. People were doing multi jobs so if you wanted more tea or something you have to ask them, they do really try to check up you though and would walk around once in awhile to refill your tea and see how you're doing. Overall a good dining experience, I would come back to try their raw crab. However if I was just going out for Korean food then I may not specifically go out of my way to come here since although the other dishes were good, it's not super outstanding. Aside from indoor dining they also have outdoor dining, there's a big white tent outside, they provides pretty good shelter, there's also hanging lights out there, really cute set up. We dined inside though since it was windy.“

“Really great Korean food. From what my friends tell me it is also very authentic. They are generous with their side dishes and the staff are attentive. Don't be intimidated and think it's too foreign or they won't be friendly if you're not Korean, they have always been lovely.
It does get very busy and they may try to clear tables faster during this time but overall one of my favourite Korean spots I highly recommend.“

“Daldongne is so good~!! This is a place where you can taste authentic Korean food, and is loved by both local residents and those who are trying Korean food for the first time. The food is overall clean and feels like home-cooked food, so you can enjoy it without pressure. The prices are reasonable, so you can visit without burden. This is a great place to visit when you miss the traditional taste of Korea or want to experience new food.“

“TLDR: A really good find of a place because they have a vast menu of Korean foods, and Japanese ones as well. They also offer good drink deals, and fresh sashimi.
-[SPIDER ROLL] $16.99
? Deep fried softshell crab, avocado, fish egg, and topped with mayo
? This one honestly didn't have much of the softshell crab flavor to it if I'm being honest
? Makes it a good version for people to try if they've never had softshell crab before
-[SPICY SALMON ROLL] $7.99
? Their version actually does have a kick to it which is not the norm
? I actually couldn't quite put my finger on what was different about their spicy salmon vs other ones until I discussed it haha
? The roll is HUGE for a six piece maki so quite worth it if you ask me
-[HAEMUL PAJEON] $23.99
? This is a seafood pancake that is savory aka not the kind you put maple syrup on
? Had assorted seafood in it like squid, and imitation crab, but also had mushrooms, green onions, and onions as well
? This was well seasoned, and panfried well which made it crispy on the outside, but fluffy on the inside. I honestly thought it didn't need a dipping sauce because of that but it does come with one
-[YUK HWE] $23.99
? Raw beef sashimi topped with egg that is also served with Asian pear/cucumber matchsticks
? My goodness, the portion of this was HUGE in a good way
? I really liked their version of this, and will 100% be ordering it again because the flavor of it was 10/10, and I found myself topping my other foods with it to elevate the overall dining experience
-[UNAGI DON] $18.99
? This was barbecue eel served on a bed of assorted vegetables all on top of rice
? I did honestly think the sautéed vegetebles (beansprouts, carrots, onions) they chose were odd originally but I will admit they ended up working well with the flavors of the eel
? A sizable portion for sure
? They do have fresh fluke/flounder sashimi that I have a lot of interest in coming back to try
? I didn't have any drinks (this time) because I had work later that night but they definitely had some good deals to return for ?“

“One of our favourite restaurants on the Yonge street strip. Perfect location next to many dessert and karaoke spots. Go here and enjoy the intimate low lit dining experience with delicious food. I ordered the pulled beef tacos and they were amazing, so full of flavour and many different tastes. Very fresh ingredients and perfectly prepped. The taco was packed, and every bite was so full of everything. I wanted to order more! The sausages platter was also really good, with different kinds of sausages paired with rice, made for a really nice combo. Definitely recommend these two dishes. Service was quick, friendly, and always efficient. I would recommend this location for anyone eating out near Yonge and finch.“

“Really great value meals available in a second at this food stand in North York. They only take cash or debit (tap only) but the bill has to be over $5, which can be tough with how cheap the fare is.
I got a custard waffle fish and beef dumplings, both of which were great lil snacks.“

“Had a quick lunch here after my appointment nearby, and got the black dragon roll and salmon sashimi. The pieces were generously sized and everything tasted great, they were very fast to prepare everything as well. The employees were very nice and it’s a consistently busy little restaurant because of the workers and visitors to the building. Parking is $2.50 an hour for Green P street parking if you’re sticking around.“
“I've got a fetish for good food and this place gets me hot! The experience was heavenly as I was served a meal fit for God himself. I want to hire their decorator to furnish my house. Try out the huge selection of incredible appetizers. Everything I tried was bursting with flavor. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!“

“The Owl is a staple of this community and has been around for ages. The price is not bad for what you get, and the fact it's open 24/7 is a big plus. Service is efficient, and the quality here is comparable to the other places in this area. If Daldongnae is the go-to for KBBQ, then the Owl is the go-to for a solid pork bone soup.“

“There are no seats inside the restaurant! Because the wait is often long and tiring, it would be nice if the whole thing wouldn't have to be spent standing up.
Not incredibly accessible. If you struggle with stairs but can manage, it may not be a big deal because there are 1-3 (i can't recall how many exactly, but likely 2) at the entrance. However, if you need wheelchair access, you might be out of luck since there are steps and the door is quite small. You would have to knock on the window and hope they come to take your order outside if you're alone!!
Anyways, the food is decent, I have bought it multiple times. It is not extraordinary however which is why i rate it 4 stars but I love the variety and it is not bad.
Many deals and rewards if you sign up with them.
Wheelchair accessibility: More about this written above.“

“You know the place is legit when the bad reviews are only about service attitude. As a regular customer of various Korean restaurants, I can confidently say that this is one of the best in town. The generous portion, the home style cooking, and the unbeatable price will make you return often. Yes the grandpa may seem a bit blunt during the first encounter, but once you get to know him, you will realize that he’s actually a good guy who just doesn’t like to take BS. If you stop by, make sure you get the Yummy Special, and you will thank me later.“
