“Had a late lunch here on Saturday. It was my first time and I loved it. We arrived around 2pm. Lots of free parking available. We received a friendly greeting and directed to an open table. Every table had a little tablet to order from. You can also request other items. Each table has drawers with cutlery and napkins. We ordered Kim's JJamppong and a new item (white JJamppong). The first is spice and had a deepr flavour from the pork. The second is brimming with smoky flavour. Both are great! And of course the noodles 🍜 are a huge highlight. We also ordered sweet and sour pork. Very unique and tasty. All dishes are great value. Loved the service and the kpop. Would love to come again.“

“The food here was really good. If you've ever been to one of their other locations you know you're getting a big, tasty plate of fried chicken and it will be good. My one comaint with this location is that they don't seem to believe in heating their location! It was so cold inside.“

“This place is a real gem. It feels like it’s run by a husband-and-wife team, and you can tell there’s a lot of care put into everything. The overall experience is always satisfying, and the jokbal is genuinely really good—tender, flavorful, and consistently well-prepared.
The only minor downside is that parking can be a bit inconvenient, depending on the time you go. But honestly, it’s still worth it, and I find myself coming back often.
If you’re craving solid jokbal with a warm, local vibe, this spot is an easy recommendation.“

“Update:
Today I brought friends here expecting a great experience, as this used to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing.
We asked the server for extra side dishes, and he simply brought them over without mentioning that there would be an additional charge. Later, we noticed a $7 charge per side on the receipt, totaling $21. At no point were we informed about the cost or given an option for portion size.
When we raised the issue, the response made things worse. We were told the receipt couldn’t be changed, the manager wasn’t available, and the staff weren’t trained to use the system. That level of unpreparedness is unacceptable.
It’s really disappointing to see a place I used to recommend go downhill like this. Unfortunately, this was my last visit.
————————————
My go-to spot for Chicken Katsu and Short Rib!
The Chicken Katsu is always perfectly crispy, and the sauce is unbelievably good—rich, tangy, and addictive. Paired with the fresh cabbage salad on the side, it hits all the right notes. The short rib is tender and flavorful, and the rice portion is just right—not too much, not too little.“

“The price is pretty good for the portion and it takes gooood!! I ordered more than $50 and they gave me a big plate of pork tangsuyuk. That plate is just half we ate already and I wanted to post a review. We couldn’t finish everything lol I felt bad so I left a review. But I did take some food home!“

“Hidden gems that I truly don’t want to tell. Great amount of food! Taste is fantastic! Love gamjatang (a bit spicy but very flavourful!) No, everything was tasty! Old style place which I love it! Please don’t change anything the way it looks and tastes. Small restaurant so of course take a bit time but I can be patient. Tight space so better go when not busy time. Highly recommend :)“

“I always love to eat at woojoo bunsik, first time came to this location though. It’s pretty small branch, so if you have more than 4 people, it would be difficult to find a table. We got the new bulgogi chicken bokki as my friend can’t eat spicy, we love it! Such a great combination since we always eat tteokbokki with the original sauce or other spicy sauces. And of course, we got the spicy mayo salmon rice ball, super yummy. And last one, we ordered unagi tofu pocket. I loved all of the food!! Basically 10 out of 10, it’s just my problem it was so cold there but obv would come back here“

“I cant peak enough about the food at this place. it's by far the best value for your money. Not only is the food delicious but the portions are very reasonable for the $ they ask. I highly recommend the chicken sandwich.. you'll never go anywhere else for chicken again. Their Kim Bap is really good option. Very fresh and very healthy, my wife lives off them!!“

“Ubereats Order
Got the koryo samgyetang and it was perfection, i liked the fact that the broth comes entirely unseasoned yet full of flavor, they give you salt and paper mixture to add as you wish. The hen comes stuffed with rice as well. First time trying this dish and ienjoyed it very much, would definitely order again <3“

“Cute Korean restaurant about 3-5 min walk from Finch Subway station. Tip: exit through the passenger pickup area of Finch station if you're walking, that's the closest exit to the restaurant. I came here specifically to try their Ganjang Gejang (raw blue crab marinated in soy sauce), it seems that they might be the only restaurant that serves this dish in Toronto, that I could find and know of. There is a very slight fishy smell when I sniffed it, which is expected since it's raw crab, but when I was eating it, I didn't find it fishy at all, it was really delicious. The crab roe was soft and rich, the meat was smooth and fresh, everything went really well with the rice. I can see why this dish is called a rice thief now. I was really tempted to order another bowl of rice but on account of my diet I stopped myself. I would definitely try this dish again. I also ordered the kimchi stew and my friend got a spicy beef soup. Although it was not as outstanding as the Ganjang Gejang, Both were delicious and portions were good. The side dishes were good as well. Not sure if there's free refills or not since we didn't ask for any. The service was good, it's a smaller shop, seems like it's family owned. People were doing multi jobs so if you wanted more tea or something you have to ask them, they do really try to check up you though and would walk around once in awhile to refill your tea and see how you're doing. Overall a good dining experience, I would come back to try their raw crab. However if I was just going out for Korean food then I may not specifically go out of my way to come here since although the other dishes were good, it's not super outstanding. Aside from indoor dining they also have outdoor dining, there's a big white tent outside, they provides pretty good shelter, there's also hanging lights out there, really cute set up. We dined inside though since it was windy.“

“Jjampong is the best in Toronto.“
“The quality was unbelievable considering it was a restaurant inside a supermarket. I ordered takeout because I was afraid there would be leftovers, but the packaging wasn't made of Styrofoam, so I just took it home and ate it. There are still a lot of Styrofoam containers, but the packaging was really good. The Jjamppong was just as delicious as it was at a specialty Chinese restaurant. Bibimbap is ordinary. The batter for sweet and sour pork is too hard. It looks perfect in the picture, but when you bite into it, it's so hard that the roof of your mouth cracks, and even when you open it after eating some seaweed from takeout, it's still hard. The sweet and sour pork sauce is very disappointing. I think it would be even better if you paid a little more attention to it. So, even though I used glutinous rice, the batter was not chewy and was rough. It seems like I mixed in too much glutinous rice rather than starch. Anyway, the meat was tender. If the sauce is good, it would be really great.“
“I received stone rice cake (3 types) from a friend today. I found out why I asked what time the pickup would be when I placed my order. The rice cake was warm and delicious, as if it had been made and delivered on time. They beautifully engraved the words 'First Birthday' on the rice cake cake for free, and there were plenty of songpyeon and sorghum red bean rice cakes. I was moved. thank you The price was also better than other places. I highly recommend it?“

“I always get their combos which are a fantastic deal. Combo 4 is enough to feed 4 people. It is also good for vegetarians because there's no meat but you can pay to upgrade the tteokbokki, roll, and rice ball to include other toppings. My preferred rice ball is kimchi-tuna and for the roll, the beef one.
The fried rice cakes are deep fried and crispy with fish cakes covered in a spicy sauce similar to tteokbokki and they have a fantastic texture and taste.
For confusion on the rice ball, it arrives as a bowl of rice as the base, various toppings on the top and you're meant to mix it with your hands and form them into little balls.
They are usually quite busy so it's recommended to order ahead of time. They now have an online platform to order from which is convenient. Sometimes when they serve your food later than expected, they gift a free pop.
There are 4 chairs and two narrow tables along the windows.“

“This is a restaurant I make a point to visit every time I’m in North York. Today, we ordered the spicy fried pollock, sweet and sour pork, and braised monkfish—and as expected, it didn’t disappoint.
We didn’t get it this time, but we usually also order the clam kalguksu when we’re here. That said, today’s dishes were more than enough on their own. We love Chowon so much ❤️“

“Such a hidden gem in North York. I wasn’t super intrigued by the sign outside at first, but the food completely blew me away.
We ordered from their seasonal February menu—the spicy pollock stew and the oyster pancake—and both were super hearty and made with really fresh ingredients.
Service was quick, and the owner was very friendly. No surprise this place has been around for over 25 years with so many regulars. Definitely coming back soon to try more dishes.“

“The spicy beef soup was packed with flavors and their Malado special roll was good too. I really enjoyed my meal and would definitely go again. Keep in mind the owners run the place solely by themself so the service will be little slow but they are so sweet that it feel welcoming. Must try“

“first time i came, one of the guys were rude. Rolled eyes when I didn't tip for takeout. The other cashier was nice though. I actually got a really good portion size for my Kamzatang, and it had lots of meat inside. Also flavorful! I have to agree with that the food here is overpriced for some cafeteria style university food served in plastic plates.“

“Best korean chinese food in the gta. Handsdown! Surprised this spot doesnt show up when you google it. Only mediocre spots pop up. The lady recently sold it but the food is still just as good! You won't be able to tell! I swear!! Their jjangmyun is so good. So is their jampong. And their tangsooyuk! Omggg so good. And their kangpunki. And their yooringi has such a nice spice and tang. Why this spot is so good is because their jjajjangmyun doesn't taste like candy. I hate when jjajjang is overly sweet. 2nd, the batter they use is really good. Alot of spots taste like they r using rice flour so if u dont eat it right away..its not edible. It will be hard as a rock.. even if u put it in the oven or microwave to warm up it wont soften up and it seems to be the recipe alot of other spots do. Please trust me and try this spot out!“

“They are open again after renovations. The new interior looks great. It's a family owned restaurant and the flavors aren't toned down. The Kimchi soup is great, it uses sour kimchi and is spicy. The Tuna gimbap is fantastic and the Jjamppong is definitely worth trying too. Staff are super nice, especially once they recognize you as a regular.“

“The Owl of Minerva is a cozy and reliable spot for comforting Korean food, especially late at night. The pork bone soup is the star of the show, rich and hearty with tender meat that falls off the bone. The side dishes are fresh, the portions are generous, and everything comes out hot and satisfying. The service is quick and friendly, and the atmosphere feels casual and welcoming. It’s the perfect place for a warm, filling meal any time of day.“

“Cafe Kray is such a lovely little find. The vibe is cozy and inviting—perfect for a slow coffee break or a catch-up with friends. Drinks are consistently great (smooth espresso and well-balanced lattes), and the pastry/snack options are fresh and satisfying without being overly heavy. Staff are friendly and welcoming, and the space has that calm energy that makes you want to stay a bit longer. If you’re looking for a warm neighborhood café with solid coffee and a relaxing atmosphere, Cafe Kray is worth a visit.“

“We almost didn’t go in because of its 3.7 rating which we just checked last minute but the pork bone soup and the kalbi are actually good with unlimited banchans. You could also select the spice level of the gamjatang which is great.

“Went in by chance because I was craving some salmon sashimi and it was a great pick! The staff were super kind and nice, even accommodating since I wanted salmon substitutes.
Place is quite cozy and small, I love the little booth rooms. I got take out so I couldn’t enjoy it unfortunately but it looks like it’d be a great lunch or dinner spot. Pricing is excellent too, nothing was too expensive.“
“Very nice place and lady store staff! There is a small restaurant inside to order fresh food. We bought jajjangmyeon $9.99 and tangsuyuk $13.99. It tasted very good and nice portions. The jajjangmyeon leans sweeter than what I’m used to but good nonetheless!“
