The person I spoke to apologized for the wait due to changing the oil of the fryers. I didn't even know that was a thing! After the first bite, the difference in crunch and taste was instantly noticeable. The focus on detail on each order is actually mind blowing.

They’re closed from 1:30 to 5:30 PM, but I still managed to grab a bite thanks to the friendly attitude of the chefs. I learned they’re a bit understaffed right now, which explains the unusual hours. I get that it’s a small business, but honestly, I haven't experienced such great quality food and service in a long time!

“Great Korean food at a convenient location right off Yonge Street. Plenty of parking as well!
We got the rabokki and it was delicious! When ordering, we can choose the spiciness level: no spicy, less spicy, or more spicy. I was confused about how spicy is more spicy so went with the less spicy choice, but if you want the standard spiciness of rabokki in Korea, then go for the more spicy. Absolutely love the side dishes they give too! The kimchi is amazing!!

“We went to this restaurant last Saturday. It was our first visit and solely based on the reviews. Absolutely amazing experience it was. The food was very delicious and the service of the staff is commendable. We were served by Joy who patiently listened to our questions and helped us choose the best dishes. A must visit if you want to try authentic Korean food.“

“This is my new go to Daldongnae location! I’ve been to the Mississauga location many many times (it’s amazing) and I thought I will give the Elgin Mills location a try since I moved to Richmond Hill and this is the closest location to me now. I asked if I could get a table with two grills for 5 people as it was my parents’ first time trying Kbbq. They honoured my request and gave me a very spacious table which I truly appreciate. The food was very good and the staff were so kind and friendly! I’ve been to the 6034 Yonge St location once and they overcharged us and the place was too hot but Elgin Mills location was amazing. “Visited Chingu after having a big craving for Korean food and was looking for something local and nothing too fancy like a lot of the new restaurants that have popped up. The food here was so tasty, reasonably priced and the service was the best part. I believe it is a mother/son duo and they are both so lovely, attentive and warm. You truly feel like your food is being prepared by a family. Like I mentioned it might not be a fancy restaurant but the way you feel cannot be replicated by any of the newer/ more expensive restaurants popping up. I hope Chingu stays in the community for a long long time! ?

“This spot is a hidden gem. The food is very good at a good price as well. The pork bone soup was very flavourful and tender. The tofu dishes were loaded with tofu. I really like how their rice is mixed with purple rice and cooked in a hot stone pot. It gives the rice a nice crisp on the edges while adding fragrance to the rice. The downside is when we went, there was no a/c making it super hot while eating hot and spicy food. There are also less side dishes compared to other Korean restaurants but it is still very tasty.“

“I arrived in Canada late, so I stopped by and went to a Korean restaurant.The owner was very kind, and when I said there was no place to buy beer, he gave me a ride to the supermarket and the food was delicious.!!! Boss, please stay healthy and stay for a long time~^^♡“

I recently dined at The Owl of Minerva, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meal or a late-night bite. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we felt welcome throughout our visit.

The food was absolutely phenomenal. I ordered the classic Pork Bone Soup (Gamjatang), and it was hands down the best I’ve ever had—rich, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The portions were generous, and every dish was fresh and authentic. Their side dishes (banchan) were also delicious and complemented the meal perfectly.

The service was quick despite how busy it was, and the pricing was very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.

Whether you're craving comfort food or looking to explore Korean cuisine, The Owl of Minerva is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

“Servers seem a bit understaffed but the food is good. Portions are larger than expected (e.g. ordered a set meal for 2 to feed 4 adults with leftovers), which is good value. Bring a bag or something for your coats to avoid having them smelling like KBBQ smoke after. I would skip on the fried chicken or pork because they have better alternatives.“

“A small but busy place for Korean fried chicken, stone pot rice and pork cutlet😊 The stone pot rice with beef $23 is our favorite, the beef is so tender and tasty😋 No 2 on the menu us the one with eggplant at $19, a little spicy though. The pork cutlet king $23 is huge with 3 big pieces which feed three people. Their fried chicken is juicy and flavorful as well. We always order the 7 pieces with green onion, very consistent and solid every time. The space is very small, can fit in 8-9 tables, so get there early to avoid line up. The atmosphere is like small bar, with open kitchen, very welcoming and upscale. The service is ok, can be better. Overall, it is a solid Korean restaurant, with limited menu choices, but consistent, tasty items that they offer.“

“First time trying it in the food court, and while it wasn't excellent, it wasn't too bad. I miss the nurunji that is typically served in the restaurants, so perhaps I can ask for that next time. The gentleman working the counter was very nice and full of smiles. The food did the trick, but just missed that extra oomph to justify the $16 price tag. Don't we all just miss the days BCD was only $10? ?“

They filled the insulated bag with ice, so I went home after shopping and it wasn't melted at all. I shared it with my husband today, but from next time we each decided to have one shaved ice.“

We enjoy the lunch box special; the price is reasonable, and the service is decent.
