“The restaurant is located inside the Galleria Korean Grocery Store in Thornhill. They serve Chinese Korean staples like Jjajangmyun, Jjamppong and Tangsuyuk. These are dishes that are easy to find in the GTA but I find that only a few places can do them well. Mark this place as a legit contender for the best Jjajangmyun and Jjamppong. The price, portion size and taste are all on point. We ordered the Jjamppong and Jjajangmyun. The broth of my Jjamppong was spicy and full. The noodles used had the perfect consistency and thickness. The only critique I can offer is that I wish the Jjamppong had more seafood but for the price that they are charging, I can understand why they are offering the amount size. The Jjajangmyun was not on the sweeter side which I enjoyed. That made it a win for me.You need to order your food first, wait for your number to be called and pick up your food, cafeteria style. The eating area can be busy and loud. Seating are limited during busy time but you should be able to find a space. Make sure to return your tray back to the restaurant area as you need to clean up after yourself. There are plenty of parking but it gets chaotic if Galleria is busy. They do take credit cards.“

“Posted my original review five years ago and this place still gets 5 stars.
Cozy local restaurant with polite staff.
I really recommend the Dynamite chicken paired together with their radish side dish. There's something about the tarty radish that bring out the flavours and the crunch to the chicken.
I also enjoyed the beef bone soup really refreshing to have low sodium witg the option to add it myself.
All the best HanOak!
First review (2019):
First time here. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, like visiting family. They have specials for students and a well rounded menu. I had the Fried Chicken with hot and sour soy sauce. The chicken was crispy to perfection with sides and a cute star shaped rice.
Highly recommend and will definitely come back.“

“Located at the food court of Galleria Supermarket, this place makes a good gamjatang or pork bone soup. The pork is very tender, and the spices give the soup a little kick. The portion size is also good, It can be shared by two people. Prices here are also affordable. The food court is busy during lunch time, so if you come during lunch, expect to wait for vacant seats.“

“Never have I sat down at a restaurant to be served a complimentary meal before even ordering. This place was beautiful in every aspect, to coming inside it amazed me and the group of friends I came with. It was BEAUTIFUL inside with all the decor. Our host was amazing and even took shots with us, such a very nice vibe in here and very welcoming. Staff is amazing and catered
to our needs. Food was also delicious! I had a lovely night here thank you“

“Came on Sunday, around 12-1pm. It was a bit busy so we had to wait for a table but I was excited because I’ve been watching the culinary class wars show!
Service is really fast because they use iPads to take orders, but also the staff were really kind and lovely.
Overall, the food was pretty good but I wouldn’t say it’s the absolute best. I mainly tried the jajang (black bean sauce noodle) and the tangsuyuk (sweet and sour deep fried pork).
The jajang noodles have an amazing texture, and the sauce is creamy, but I had to add a bit of soy sauce. The tangsuyuk had a nice sauce, but I wish it was a bit crispier.
I definitely recommend anyone who comes to this restaurant to get a noodle dish or one of their popular dishes. We ordered other dishes such as a fried rice which was just decent. The table beside us enjoyed the popular dishes but barely touched their soup. :(
I also wish there were more non-pork options,, it seems like Paik really loves pork.“

“Restaurant Review: A Must-Try for Korean Fried Chicken Lovers
I recently visited this Korean restaurant in Toronto, and it was fantastic! Their fried chicken is hands down some of the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of seasoning. The variety of sauces, especially the soy garlic is incredible.
What truly stood out was the warm, welcoming atmosphere. The staff greeted me with big smiles and were super attentive, making me feel right at home. If you’re craving delicious Korean fried chicken and great service, this is the spot to visit!“

“I’m surprised there aren’t any TikTok videos or IG reels about this spot racking up millions of views! It’s a true hidden gem for a bite to eat. The fried chicken here is the best I’ve ever had, and the prices are super reasonable. Plus, the customer service is fantastic!
The person I spoke to apologized for the wait due to changing the oil of the fryers. I didn't even know that was a thing! After the first bite, the difference in crunch and taste was instantly noticeable. The focus on detail on each order is actually mind blowing.
They’re closed from 1:30 to 5:30 PM, but I still managed to grab a bite thanks to the friendly attitude of the chefs. I learned they’re a bit understaffed right now, which explains the unusual hours. I get that it’s a small business, but honestly, I haven't experienced such great quality food and service in a long time!
The reviews are well-earned and absolutely deserved. I’m proud to be a customer who can say I discovered this place before BanBan takes Toronto by storm! The photos are already great and its even better to see in person. How is there not a lineup in the mall for you guys yet? This place has so much potential! All the best“

“I love this tteokbokki. I don't like spicy food, so I ordered the lowest level. 0 level is not spicy and delicious for everyone! I shared it with three friends and it was a lot of food. I also had a cheese hot dog and it was really delicious with tteokbokki! The staff was friendly and I will come back again.“

“This is my new go to Daldongnae location! I’ve been to the Mississauga location many many times (it’s amazing) and I thought I will give the Elgin Mills location a try since I moved to Richmond Hill and this is the closest location to me now. I asked if I could get a table with two grills for 5 people as it was my parents’ first time trying Kbbq. They honoured my request and gave me a very spacious table which I truly appreciate. The food was very good and the staff were so kind and friendly! I’ve been to the 6034 Yonge St location once and they overcharged us and the place was too hot but Elgin Mills location was amazing. Definitely recommend!“

“My family & I was grabbing a late night dinner. I picked the place base on Google map review and it was a pleasant surprise when we sat down and went through the menu. There were just enough food choices to pick from. The servers were all very nice. We enjoyed the pork bone soup a lot as we were given generous portions and the flavor was right on. The rice ball was something new to us and it was very delicious.
We will definitely return again and next time we will try the hot pot!
Parking: Free street side parking after 6pm“

“I heard about this new place from a friend and had to give it a try. When I parked where Google Maps directed me, I wasn't sure if I was in the right spot ---- it's at the back of an industrial building, near some truck unloading docks.
But then I saw a sign saying "Please come in" and decided to take a leap of faith. I wasn't disappointed!
* Fried Chicken Sandwich - $7.77: I chose the honeyed soy garlic flavour. The egg brioche bun was perfectly soft and flavourful, and I appreciated how the pressed crust held everything together. The toppings were generous, and the chicken was juicy.
* Fried Chicken Poutine - $8.88 (250g, snack size): I went with the "cheezy cheese" option, and it was indeed very cheesy! They didn't skimp on the seasoning, and the poutine cheese curds had a great pull. Loved it!
* Boneless Fried Chicken - $9.99 (250g, snack size): I chose the spicy yangnyeom sauce, which had a nice kick.
Just a small note -- I'd prefer if the boneless chicken pieces were about half the size, especially as a poutine topping.
The prices are fair, and the flavours are absolutely delicious. Piping hot fried chicken takes time, so there is a slight wait, which I did not mind at all.
I'll definitely be coming back here!“

“A pretty busy korean restaurant. We get there around 6 pm, there's still some tables available. But after 7 pm, it's full. My first time went there, because friends recommend trying this. Overall, the food is good. Extra spicy is really spicy! So if u like it, go for it extra spicy. The portion is big. U can refill the side dishes. Their signature dish is $44/plate and can be mix&match flavors.“

“On a reco from someone from Korea and who can make gimbap herself, I ventured out to find this recommended gimbap place after finding about the Korean dish from a TV show. I gotta say that I was impressed by the size of the roll and the quality for the price. Two rolls is a lot of food. One is enough; two is maybe gluttonous.
Telling the front staff that this was my first time there, she recommended the Kimchi Tuna Gimbap and then the Bulgogi Gimbap. The rolls were well-presented and were indeed delicious. Based on the quickly forming line-up for a weekday lunch, this place is clearly a favourite in the neighbourhood.“

“I absolutely love coming here with my friends! As a multicultural group, it is often not easy to find restaurants we all enjoy. However, we all love this place! There is not too much seating area so there is sometimes a bit of a wait, but is so worth it. Prices are fair.“

“The king size dumplings are super tasty and the kimichi tastes super fresh. Highly recommend in term of the quality of the food and the dumplings are about $1-2 dollars cheaper than the other one. It tastes not as salty than the others nearby but its not as big (that has terrible customer service) that sells the same thing. Update: just went into the store in person to check out the place today. The server who greeted me had NO customer service. After I ordered she kicked me out of the store to stand in the cold for 10 mins to wait for the food...and there was only her and the cook and no other customer in the store. I have also ordered their homemade kimichi as a side and it is such a small bowl but more expensive than the other korean restaurant (theirs small kimichi is $3 bucks) nearby who served similar food....hmmmmmm worth to give it a try but the customer service will keep me from going into the store for a bit. Just order take out its easier“

“Visited Chingu after having a big craving for Korean food and was looking for something local and nothing too fancy like a lot of the new restaurants that have popped up. The food here was so tasty, reasonably priced and the service was the best part. I believe it is a mother/son duo and they are both so lovely, attentive and warm. You truly feel like your food is being prepared by a family. Like I mentioned it might not be a fancy restaurant but the way you feel cannot be replicated by any of the newer/ more expensive restaurants popping up. I hope Chingu stays in the community for a long long time! ?
Ps. we’ve already been twice in two weeks hehe

“Very delicious food and staff is very helpful! Big fan of the corn cheese here, out of all the places I’ve been to, they do it the best. Pasta was also very tasty and packed with flavour. The only thing is the restaurant is a little loud during peak hours so if you don’t enjoy that, make sure to come during off hours. Can’t wait to try more food here!“

“This spot is a hidden gem. The food is very good at a good price as well. The pork bone soup was very flavourful and tender. The tofu dishes were loaded with tofu. I really like how their rice is mixed with purple rice and cooked in a hot stone pot. It gives the rice a nice crisp on the edges while adding fragrance to the rice. The downside is when we went, there was no a/c making it super hot while eating hot and spicy food. There are also less side dishes compared to other Korean restaurants but it is still very tasty.“

“If you're looking for a cozy spot with great Korean food, Lim Ga Ne is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has a laid-back vibe, making it perfect for casual dinners with friends or family.

“Honestly this is the one of best place to try authentic Korean food with reasonable price. They have very comfortable seats with good distance between other tables. I saw some of reviews said tip is not a mandatory option. But I've been to Bab.zip a lot of times since they opened but they are definitely not offering poor level of quality like Thai express or Chinese restaurant. If you don't wanna tip them then just order take out or go to food court.“

“We were there on a Saturday night. The plaza had plenty of parking available. We ordered raw crabs, a seafood pancake, pork belly and 2 other soups. I didn't try the raw crabs but my family said they were yummy but just a bit too much soy sauce in them. They were better to eat with white rice. The seafood pancake was excellent. The pork belly was dry and hard and they didn't bring us dipping sauce. The soups were normal. Side dishes were pretty good. Service was okay.“

“I've always wanted to try their food, and I finally had the chance! They are incredibly generous with their side dishes—kimchi, glass noodles, potatoes, and more. We tried the Gamjatang and Samgyetang, and both soup stews were delicious and comforting.
The ambiance is also a highlight; the spacious layout and high ceilings make for a pleasant dining experience.
Parking: Ample parking.

“Authentic and delicious. The restaurant is always playing K-pop on the TV and the air conditioning is permanently kept on cold- bring a sweater! As mentioned, everything from the sauce to the main course was delicious. The rosé ttebokki we ordered was a bit spicy, the sweet and sour crispy chicken was perfect to kill the spice.
Kid-friendliness: Big menu. No kids selection but the food items can come simple for picky eaters. TV is always on to cure child restlessness.“

“I ordered the Jjajang + Jjamppong + Sweet and Sour Pork set, and changed the Jjajang to Gan Jjajang by paying an extra $3.
- Sweet and sour pork: These days, most people eat sweet and sour pork with glutinous rice, but this place is really old-fashioned sweet and sour pork. When you take a bite, the meat is firmly encased in the batter.
-Jjamppong: The soup is really delicious and the vegetables are cooked well and crunchy. It's a bit sweet, but still delicious, so I'm planning to try jjamppong rice next time.
- Ganjjajang: They gave me a lot of sauce, so I was greedy and poured it all, but it was a bit salty haha. Onions and meat were generously added. If you want to eat soy sauce, I recommend that you don't be greedy like me and adjust the seasoning little by little!
Overall it was delicious, and I plan to visit again.“
“A must try for any fried chicken lover!! ????????Korean fried chicken we can’t stop eating. About 30$ for two people to stuff themselves with perfectly crisp chicken, smothered in an amazing sauce if you choose and several flavors. Friendly caring service. Don’t miss it in the food court just down a corridor a few feet off main food court. Hidden gem we always return to.“
“I received stone rice cake (3 types) from a friend today. I found out why I asked what time the pickup would be when I placed my order. The rice cake was warm and delicious, as if it had been made and delivered on time. They beautifully engraved the words 'First Birthday' on the rice cake cake for free, and there were plenty of songpyeon and sorghum red bean rice cakes. I was moved. thank you The price was also better than other places. I highly recommend it?“

“Many things to choose from on the menu, service was good and the process of ordering was very easy.
Food came quick (Bulgogi Don) and it was heavily combined in stir-fried onions as if the beef to onions/veggie ratio was 1:4. For the price its okay and you get some side dishes (kimchi, pasta salad and soup).
There are much better places to get bulgogi even with a better price point as well, but overall it was decently good.“
