Sat outside at the patio on a summer evening, so there were a couple bugs and flies around the food and table, but nothing too bothersome. Birria tacos were savoury and loaded with beef. “In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.”

“Was there today with my trini friend and we got doubles, veggie dhal puri, aloo pie and curry potato and channa and dhal puri. It was so good. The lady made us feel like we were back home and the food is amazing. I'll be coming back for sure. It's the Guyanese and trini ladies with the little girl that kept dropping her wallet. Lol. “On September 21, 2025 my husband and i hosted a party for our 85-year-old friend. We were greeted with Happy Birthday Greetings. Our waters were never empty. Our food came on time, was delicious and hot. and all 8 of us enjoyed every chopstick full of such tasty food. Thank you to the staff that took care of every want, even a dish of ice cream dolled up for the birthday girl. Very nice treat. Thank you. Every time the service has been exceptional and caring a bit more today made it memorable for everyone Thank you.”

“The restaurant, service and food at this restaurant was good. However the only downside is that the customers are literally asked to pay a tip. During this difficult period of the pandemic, it is hard to leave a tip. It should be optional but if you do not tip, you are sort of asked "why no tip". This becomes odd and the customer should be given the discretion to tip. This is the reason, I am giving 4 stars to this restaurant.”

“I've been to Yu Seafood Yorkdale several times. An upscaled restaurant near all the high-end retailers. I bought my nephew here during his business trip and everything is good, and the bill was paid without going through the details. Not until I got home and found out one of the dishes was missed out from the dinner set for six. I called the restaurant the next day and the general manager Neilson responded promptly. It could be a human error and promised to compensate on my next visit. Having said that Yu is a great place to enjoy dinner or lunch despite of the mistake they have made on my last visit.”

“This is by far the cleanest and nicest A&W location I’ve ever visited. The restaurant was spotless from the dining area to the washrooms, and everything felt well organized and cared for.

“It may be one of the hottest days of the year but, we came in craving some comfort food and this perfectly hit that itch. The chicken was extremely juicey, the skin crisp, meat tender and quite flavorful, also I was impressed by the size of each peice and how they butchered it. We were given a small platter of buttered corn on the house and it was a nice starter to preset the meal. The music hits the vibe of a relaxing casual eatery and the combos are worth the money. Next time I would order the combo with a larger group to finish it we went for combo 2 and got the galbi and soy garlic chicken. The galbi was my favorite my partner preferred the soy garlic, the tteokbokki was a little smokey, little spicey, and was loaded with meat it was worth it. I will come back and this will be a another great night spot after some drinks and karaoke.”

My only complaint is that it’s not 24/7 and the food isn’t infinite!!

I wasn't sure of it was the onions, turnips etc. something was left out too long perhaps... and today I am sick as a dog. I've eaten here before. I think they need better quality control on the food... especially being safely stored.. perhaps temperatures..etc”

“We recently visited Kourosh Bakery and Sandwiches and had such a great experience. We ordered the grilled chicken salad 7.99$ plus 5.99$ 🥗, a steak & cheese sandwich 17.99$ 🥪, and also a doner plate 18.99 $🥙, and everything was honestly excellent and good price compared to quality. The first thing I noticed was how fresh everything tasted—the vegetables in the salad were crisp and fresh, the grilled chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the portion sizes were very generous.

The steak and cheese sandwich was just as impressive. The steak was tender, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the bread tasted fresh and soft, which made a huge difference. The doner plate was also amazing, with flavorful meat, fresh toppings, and great seasoning that reminded me of authentic Persian-style food.

You can really tell they care about the quality of their ingredients and don’t cut corners. Everything felt homemade and prepared with attention to detail.

What I also really appreciated is that Kourosh Bakery feels like a true local business—warm, welcoming, and authentic. The staff were extremely polite, friendly, and attentive, making the whole experience even better.

It’s always nice to support a local business that clearly takes pride in what they do. Between the fresh ingredients, delicious food, and excellent customer service, this place definitely earned a repeat customer. I’ll absolutely be back to try more from their menu!

“Food is mid, 3/5. There are better noodles in the area but this is not bad for the price. We tried the dry noodles and braised beef noodles with soup as well as a few cold dishes.

Service is excellent though - very quick and they gave me a hair tie, bib and basket for my jacket and bag.”

After reading some of the other comments in the question section, we called to confirm the extent to which they are wheelchair accessible. Utterly disappointed to find out that although they have a ramp, the only accessible dining areas are if you're with one of the large groups. Meaning that as an individual with accessibility needs, I was excluded from dining at this restaurant. My accessibility needs are temporary, however you can guarantee I won't be dining at this restaurant even when I'm able to walk again, until they rectify this situation. Inexcusable to exclude people with mobility needs in this day and age.”

“I had a wonderful dining experience at Auberge du Pommier. We started with the BBQ lamb toast, which was exceptionally flavorful and beautifully balanced. The richness of the lamb paired with the thoughtful preparation made it an excellent way to begin the meal.

For my main course, I ordered the strip loin, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and expertly prepared, reflecting the high standard of execution expected from a fine dining restaurant.

My partner ordered the orzotto. While the dish offered excellent flavor and quality ingredients, it was unfortunately finished with slightly too much oil, which overshadowed some of the more delicate flavors and affected the overall balance of the dish. A lighter touch would have allowed the ingredients to shine through more effectively.

Overall, the service and atmosphere were outstanding, and the quality of the cuisine was evident throughout the meal. With a small refinement to the orzotto, the experience would have been exceptional from start to finish. We look forward to returning.”

“We came to Prime on Avenue for their Kosherlicious special (extended until March 12), and it was incredible. The menu included an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for $75 per person, with the option to upgrade to a 10-oz steak for an additional $25. We went for the steak upgrade and it was absolutely worth it. 🥩

We chose Prime for my birthday dinner and it ended up being the best birthday dinner I’ve ever had. The service was attentive and relaxed, and we never felt rushed. We were there for about two hours but didn’t even realize how much time had passed because the atmosphere was so enjoyable.

This was my second time dining at Prime and I will definitely be coming back, especially if they run this special again. If you’re looking for a great kosher steakhouse experience in Toronto for a special occasion, I highly recommend it. 🎉”

“We visited this location for lunch today and found it to be fairly quiet and not very busy. We ordered two chicken sandwiches along with a chicken box meal that came with wedges.

The chicken was fresh, juicy, and pleasantly non-greasy, which sets it apart from many other fried chicken places. The sandwiches were good overall, though a bit more seasoning or flavor would have made them even better.

The chicken box included three pieces of chicken and wedges, and both were served fresh and hot. The wedges were especially impressive—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and cooked perfectly.

The service was really fast and friendly. Parking is also free as the plaza has free parking.

Overall, the food was enjoyable, the quality was solid, and everything tasted fresh. While there is some room for improvement in the sandwich flavor, this is a good option for fresh fried chicken and delicious wedges.”

“We've been on a bit of a bingsu kick so finally tried The Cups. We ordered the large matcha bingsu which was around $20-25. Good size portion for two people to have, and it was mostly good. We really liked the almond chips and the mochi, and we felt that they didn't skimp on the matcha powder which is nice.

Where it missed the mark a bit for us is the green tea ice cream was actually freezer burnt and made it a bit difficult to eat. There was also a bit of clumping with the snow near the bottom.

This place seems to be really popular on weekends so it might be hard to get a seat.”

“I had a wonderful dining experience at Auberge du Pommier. We started with the BBQ lamb toast, which was exceptionally flavorful and beautifully balanced. The richness of the lamb paired with the thoughtful preparation made it an excellent way to begin the meal.

For my main course, I ordered the strip loin, and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The meat was tender, well-seasoned, and expertly prepared, reflecting the high standard of execution expected from a fine dining restaurant.

My partner ordered the orzotto. While the dish offered excellent flavor and quality ingredients, it was unfortunately finished with slightly too much oil, which overshadowed some of the more delicate flavors and affected the overall balance of the dish. A lighter touch would have allowed the ingredients to shine through more effectively.

Overall, the service and atmosphere were outstanding, and the quality of the cuisine was evident throughout the meal. With a small refinement to the orzotto, the experience would have been exceptional from start to finish. We look forward to returning.”

“We visited this location for lunch today and found it to be fairly quiet and not very busy. We ordered two chicken sandwiches along with a chicken box meal that came with wedges.

The chicken was fresh, juicy, and pleasantly non-greasy, which sets it apart from many other fried chicken places. The sandwiches were good overall, though a bit more seasoning or flavor would have made them even better.

The chicken box included three pieces of chicken and wedges, and both were served fresh and hot. The wedges were especially impressive—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and cooked perfectly.

The service was really fast and friendly. Parking is also free as the plaza has free parking.

Overall, the food was enjoyable, the quality was solid, and everything tasted fresh. While there is some room for improvement in the sandwich flavor, this is a good option for fresh fried chicken and delicious wedges.”

“I ordered from Leros Grill to pick up catering for our backyard wedding reception. John was an absolute pleasure to deal with on the phone and provided exceptional customer service from placing the order to arranging the pick up. For 60 guests I ordered 1 full tray of chicken shawarma, 1 half tray of gyros meat, 1 full tray of Greek salad, and 1 full tray of Greek potatoes. I kick myself for not taking pictures of the food, as it tasted as good as it looked! Everyone wanted to know where the food was from, noting these were the best potatoes they've ever had, and the meat was perfectly cooked. Everybody ate well and there was still leftovers. The only other food I had was a tray of Turkish cheese rolls, so having Leros Grill as our main catered meal was perfect. Our guests were impressed by the meal and I couldn't be happier with John's service. Excellent price for the quantity, quality, and service you get! I will definitely be ordering from Leros Grill again.”

We ordered the duck vermicelli, it is hot and tasty. The fried dumpling taste good and it comes with a fruit drink , the 3 items $20 so price is reasonable.

Everyone seems to like the Duo Curry the most ! Crispy chicken and the curry with rice is very tasty.

“Visited the Yorkdale Shake Shack today and ordered the Shroom Burger. Unfortunately, the fried mushroom patty was a bit overcooked and darker than expected.

That said, I would still like to recognize the excellent service I received. One staff member was constantly cleaning and maintaining the dining area, and the restaurant was noticeably clean as a result.

What impressed me most was that while I was dining alone, this staff member proactively came over to ask if I would like a glass of water, and even asked whether I preferred warm or cold water. I honestly did not expect this level of attentiveness in a fast-casual, self-service restaurant.

Although my burger was not perfect, this employee’s thoughtfulness and dedication to customer service really stood out and made my visit a positive experience. A big thank you to this staff member — they deserve recognition! 👍🏼”
