“We visited for the first time today and we are already planning another visit! We tried the trio dip plate and our family favourites are the Muhammara sauce and the hummus. Then we had the dynamite shrimp - soo good (even though I'm not a shrimp lover). It was devoured quickly! We had the family platter. We loved the homemade garlic dip, the potatoes and how flavourful all the meat was. We ended our meal with the banana pudding, that even our picky eater loved! Thank you Mo and Ahmed for a wonderful meal!

“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.”

“We came here for my birthday and ordered the tasting menu. I have allergies to nuts, shellfish and fruit and the chefs/staff were all very accommodating. The food and service were phenomenal. Atmosphere was elegant and romantic. We really loved our experience here. The bread was also amazing!!”

“The restaurant, service and food at this restaurant was good. However the only downside is that the customers are literally asked to pay a tip. During this difficult period of the pandemic, it is hard to leave a tip. It should be optional but if you do not tip, you are sort of asked "why no tip". This becomes odd and the customer should be given the discretion to tip. This is the reason, I am giving 4 stars to this restaurant.”

There are male, female, and family washrooms ? It's odd that there are no locks on the washrooms recently (not sure what's going with that) so we couldn't use it. The customer service is generally good, no long lines or wait. Calling in and picking up or having it delivered is usually not a long wait either. There is parking in front of the restaurant, on the back and side. When our kid was smaller, we bought the kid's meal and let him play in the park at the back when the weather was fine.”

The best burger I've had in ages was the fiesta burger. The combinations of flavours and the juicy patty were the perfect combination and doesn't make you feel heavy after eating. The bead was soft but not soggy and held everything inside just right. The poutine is made with home fries and the gravy is delicious. The Flat bread is a great share or perfect for a meal with many options to customize. And if you have space for the bread pudding, it's definetly worth it. The warmth and cinnamon bursts from the bread and he ice cream on top adds the perfect sweetness to compliment the bread. Perfect to share too, unless you decide to keep it for yourself haha.”

“Always my first choice when craving Vietnamese food in GTA. Pho Tai Lan here is the best of same kind in Toronto, it reminds me of authentic Northern flavour with distinctive stir-fried beef.
Salt pepper squid is also yummy for starter, and Bun Mang Vit is a blast.
The owners are caring about guests.
Only drawback is the noisy of busy days and big groups.
Overall highly recommended for both Northern and Southern Vietnamese flavour!”

“Juices have always been my favourite. Especially in summer, juices have always played an important role in satisfying our thirst as well keeping us hydrated. When it comes to booster juice, my all time favourite is the ABC juice, which in other words is called apple beet carrot juice or the red sunrise. The juice not only keeps you hydrated but also acts as a good energy boost as well a brightening for skin, while improving skin tone. Beets have always been a good source for the blood in our body while helping keep our pressure levels normal. I always love taking this juice and I highly recommend you to try once. The only concern I have and it is the reason for giving a 4-star is due to the way they blend the beets and carrots. Sometimes, as I noticed… the veggies are being put straight to the blender with the outer skin, wish it was peeled off and washed thoroughly once before blending. If this concern is fixed, it would be great and highly appreciated. Thank you”

I surmise the inflation and the Harvey's corporate operations are the ones driving the discrepancy between the insatiable sizes and the prices. I gave high rating because it is clean, well organized, and all the staff I and my company encountered were so nice. For these factors alone, I would still come. Price hike is inevitable everywhere.

Shrinkflation. The burger became ever so smaller in size but paid exorbitant more than $8 (including tax). Burger was not fulfilling for a skinny guy like me. But the atmosphere is nice and the staff are awesome in good customer service.”

(It is difficult to find delicious flavoured Swiss water Processed Decaf here locally.) So far I have enjoyed immensely these Gold Star Coffee’s Swiss Water Decafs: Frangelico, ORANGE Brandy Cream, Amaretto & Coconut Cream. They are all rich smooth & satisfying… with no caffeine rush! After reading some of the other comments in the question section, we called to confirm the extent to which they are wheelchair accessible. Utterly disappointed to find out that although they have a ramp, the only accessible dining areas are if you're with one of the large groups. Meaning that as an individual with accessibility needs, I was excluded from dining at this restaurant. My accessibility needs are temporary, however you can guarantee I won't be dining at this restaurant even when I'm able to walk again, until they rectify this situation. Inexcusable to exclude people with mobility needs in this day and age.”

“We came to Gorditas to get tacos as take out since we had heard great things about this place. The food did not disappoint! I got the carnitas (pork), and my partner got the bistec (beef) so we could try different items on the menu. The tacos were very filling, and the carnitas in particular were super juicy. They give you the spicy sauce on the side so you can dress them with as much spice as you'd like. We appreciate that and definitely plan to return to try more of their menu items.”

Start by tasting "1 mulita de pastor and 1 mulita de campechano", if you are a good eater like me, don't be left wanting and "order the 3rd mulita de asada" accompany them with a horchata or glass coke, for dessert there is a great variety but what I liked the most "strawberries with cream in a glass" I don't remember the name but the decoration looks a lot like the filling of the goose, mosaic gelatin and the Flan very delicious too.
