“I used to love going here with my family when I was a kid. I haven't been back in ages, and finally went back a couple weeks ago because my mom said their afternoon tea is good. We ended up going for lunch instead, so I didn't get to experience their afternoon tea deals, but the lunch deals are pretty good value anyway. They give you a soup + garlic bread starter, your entree, cake slice, and a hot drink (cold/special for extra $ probably). It's definitely a lot of food and you get a lot of bang for your buck.

The food itself is okay though. I got the smoked salmon pasta bc it seemed the least heavy of all the options, since I wasn't that hungry, and it didn't really look visually appetizing. Taste wise it was okay; the olives seemed like a random afterthought and the smoked salmon should've been pre-cut instead of draped over all the pasta like a blanket. My mom said her curry was really good. The baked pork chop was massive (two pork chops on rice) but I found the tomato sauce too tangy/acrid and not umami enough. The cake slice, which was black sesame, was actually quite decent and mild. It didn't have a strong black sesame flavour which I like, bc I don't like black sesame, but for those who do, it's probably too plain.

Service here is great tho, and the restaurant ambiance is chill and relaxing.”

“By far the best restaurant in Toronto so far. I came here for my birthday and the experience was transcendent. First, the service was top tier level, the waiter that took care of us was gentlemen with a great vibe. Best server I had in my life. They seated us according to our request (nice seating away from the entrance). They also printed a birthday card for me which was very considerate. They also called and emailed asking us very detailed oriented questions ahead of the dinner which was top notch. They also switched our utensils every meal which is a small detail yet powerful dinner experience detail. Sparkling water was also complimentary versus other restaurants. The pace of the food was perfect as well and they also gave me a small birthday cake!

Food was immaculate. An eye opening experience. I cannot even describe the food/art that I have eaten. Nothing disappointed me. They used the best of the best ingredients. Every dish was perfectly curated and every bite was orgasmic. If I was a multi millionaire, I would come here everyday. All the food was at the right temperature, nothing got stuck to our teeth, and I would say the egg & toast dish was one very memorable.

Now as for the atmosphere, the decor was elegant but the restaurant isn’t very big, thus the difficulty of getting a reservation. It was comfy and treated us extremely well.

Overall I recommend it for special occasions, not for a huge party but great for 4 people family or with your significant other. I will be coming back for sure one day.”

“My girlfriends and I visited Planta a few weeks ago, and it was such a pleasant experience. It was my first time at the restaurant, and while I’m not vegan, I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I’m currently limiting my dairy intake, so I was thrilled to satisfy my pizza craving with one of their delicious dairy-free options.

The service was fantastic—both Sid and Grace were such a pleasure. Grace was especially knowledgeable and helpful when we were placing our orders, and when there was a small issue with my meal, they handled it quickly, apologetically, and with kindness.

“I went to try Tiny Market for lunch. The place is truly tiny with limited seating inside. The staff are attentive and eager to answer any questions. I tried one of the two lunch specials the Casserece allá Amatriciana.
The pasta was hot and cooked al dente. The flavours were amazing and the sauce was rich and creamy. The guanciale was generous and found throughout the dish. What an amazing dish and it was well priced at $19.
They have fresh pasta, sauces and lasagna for take home. All they items are made in house and are on rotation. They also have frozen options as well.
I will definitely to try again when I’m over that way.”
