“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“Joey is our go-to place for special occasions in our family. The food is always amazing no matter the location, the servings are generous, and the staff and servers are friendly without being intrusive. I really liked their high chair for little babies. It was the type that attaches to the table — it was perfect for our 10 month old!“

“Arrived at around 9pm on a Wednesday with no reservation, the hostess told us that it would be anywhere from a 1-2 hour wait. Thankfully we were seated at around 9:20 (so I'm not sure where the wait time estimate came from), but I would definitely recommend getting a reservation anyways!

We came for the buck a shuck (east coast) and the oysters were decent. Some were on the smaller end, but for the most part they tasted good! We also got the yam fries as a carb to go with the oysters and those were pretty good as well.

Service was alright, the waiters and waitresses were really nice but they're kind of everywhere so you need to catch them before they run away 😂. It is a little loud in this restaurant but it kinda runs bar style so that makes sense anyways.

We ended up eating 120 oysters (party of 2) and there were no complications after. Definitely coming back!“

“As a young solo female traveler, I felt very safe and the staff was extremely helpful. I ordered breakfast to my room and it came within 20 minutes, my service at dinner in the REIGN restaurant was great and I was checked in and out very quickly and efficiently! Would definitely recommend“

“I had an absolutely amazing experience at Babushka! From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how clean and beautifully designed the restaurant was. The outdoor seating area surrounded by flowers created a wonderful atmosphere. The best part was the food — every dish was presented beautifully and served individually to each guest. In today’s world, we don’t just look for quantity, but for quality, a personal touch, and excellent service, and Babushka delivered on all fronts. Our waiter, Dima, was incredibly friendly, polite, and professional. The owner, Pasha, was respectful, attentive, and added a touch of humor that made the experience even more enjoyable. He personally greeted everyone and made us feel special. The dancers performing on stage added so much energy and excitement to the evening. They truly elevated the atmosphere, making it feel like a real celebration. The washrooms were spotless and stocked with hand towels, which I really appreciated. The music was just right — lively but not too loud, with a great mix of different cultures and breaks so guests could talk or dance. “I recently visited Clockwork for a beautiful tea for a close friend's big birthday celebration. There was a great selection of teas and delicious treats, including gluten-free and nut-free options for those with dietary restrictions. The atmosphere was perfect, and everyone had a wonderful time. Before the tea, I emailed Elise to make sure everything was perfect. She was very lovely and accommodating. The staff members Gemma and Leah were nice but also incredibly attentive, making our celebration even more special. The whole experience was great. I would highly recommend it!“

“Night was lit. Enjoyed shisha and drinks and food was good too . But the best part is the servers do their job very well . Specially the light skin guy was so helpful as he was bringing everything so quick and also he was smiling all the time no matter how busy he is .“

“I want to give this place 5 stars because the overall vibe is super fun, the drinks are great, and the prices are pretty reasonable. It’s definitely somewhere you can go to dance, have a good time, and enjoy some really nice cocktails.
The only thing I’d add is that I’ve been coming to Reservoir Lounge almost every weekend for years. But ever since weekends have been given to Danny B, I honestly only come about once a month, usually on nights when he’s not performing. The vibe and energy just feel a lot lower, and it’s not as fun for me anymore. When he does take a break, he’s gone for a while, and overall his energy just kind of brings my mood down too.In the past, there used to be way better performers here. I really miss those days.“

“My friend and I had a very pleasant lunch, service was great. I was rather disappointed in the “lobster” and shrimp role for $29, I only found a tiny piece of lobster in the entire sandwich. I mentioned this to our server and she said she would discuss it with the kitchen but I didn’t hear anything about it, not even an apology. The roll was supposed to have been toasted in butter but it was ridiculously dry and no evidence of butter toasting. My friend had the quinoa bowl for $24 and it looked very nice.“
