“Small restaurant (about 10 tables) that also seems to do a fair bit of take-out. We have been coming here for about a year and we always have a great experience. The food is delicious and the price is right- best dumplings in Toronto.“

“Used to come here when I was small and now saw that they reopened as a fine dining restaurant
This presents as a high end restaurant both in atmosphere and price. However at least with the price you get generous portion sizes that don't "cheat" but putting random crap under your food to prop it up.
The service is friendly and attentive. I had a server out of nowhere notice my plate was full of bones etc and instinctively came with a new plate to swap out.
As mentioned before serving size is representative of the price. Their Har Gow (Shrimp Dumpling) are massive. I was also very surprised with some twists on traditional Chinese dimsum such as the Fish Paste Rice Roll with ACTUAL Black Truffle! Yumm
Give them a try, but be forewarned, I highly suggest you call ahead and rsvp
*edit* came here for dinner the other day and the quality and service is just as good as the dimsum service. Portion sizes are very reasonable and the house soup (fish soup with mushroom, papaya & tomato) was absolutely delicious“

“Love Mary Bun! The owner is so sweet and the food is really affordable. It's also very consistent—always tastes great.
This restaurant was my first time trying Nanjing style siu mai/shaomai which are large dumplings filled with sticky rice and pork. They're rich and delicious and I love the texture. The dumpling wrapper is al dente and has a good firm chew. The pork is braised well so it's moist and very tender.
I've also had the zongzi (sticky rice with fillings), which are even richer and excellent if you love a high fat braised pork.
My roommate always gets the veggie steamed bun. They have such a pillowy soft texture!
Definitely check Mary Bun out!
I don't eat meat very often and there's not a lot of vegetarian food in the area. We would love if they made a vegetarian or vegan siu mai and/or zongzi with mushroom and tofu ❤️“

“Recently dropped by to pickup some soup dumplings, and I noticed that there are more items for sale. The cashier confirmed that there's new ownership. Service is better, but the skins of the dumplings are thicker. Still good though.“

“Went to this restaurant after missing their other location at STC which closed a few years ago.
It’s located in a mall near Yorkmills and Leslie and parking in the evening was easy.
The interior is beautiful nice ambiance lighting - wooden fixtures. Nice tables.
I booked for a party of 10 and the management accommodated.
It wasn’t busy when I went which I wondered I could see a few take out orders being done.
So a couple of things. Sunday their hours close at 8- I booked my reservations at 7 and asked the restaurant if they close at 8 should I move up my reservation- they said no they close at 9.
Well sadly they still closed at 8 and we were rushed on our dinner…
We ordered 2 set meals and some dim sum.
With some confusion we only received the meal for 1 set order and the dim sum we ordered the 2nd set order didn’t come.
When we asked they said the kitchen closed and they were sure we already got the food.
I was worried I would have to argue about the missing meal but the manager was nice and credited it from the final bill.
The food was not as good as I remember from STC. The dim sum sizes were small. The dishes were ok but lacked flavour. As we go to other authentic Chinese restaurants in Toronto I felt it wasn’t that great for the price. Probably caters to Canadian palettes.
The staff was super friendly and responsive bringing out dishes water napkins etc.
they never asked us about tea which was too bad.
We were celebrating a birthday and they let us bring the cake and brought it out at the end with the lights off which was nice.
Other than the mix up food and being rushed out it was nice.“
