“Food is mid, 3/5. There are better noodles in the area but this is not bad for the price. We tried the dry noodles and braised beef noodles with soup as well as a few cold dishes.

Service is excellent though - very quick and they gave me a hair tie, bib and basket for my jacket and bag.“

“Paik's Noodle is one of the most well-known Korean Chinese fusion restaurants in Korea. It got popular because of the tasty food with a cheaper price. It was pretty crowded but the restaurant was spacious and pleasant and the servers were very kind. I had the typical combo: Jajangmyeon, Champong, and Tangsooyuk. Tangsooyuk was as good as what I had in Korea. I think a lot of people will have different views on the taste of Champong but it was worth trying. The soup totally wad different from before and changed completely to smoky taste! I enjoyed this restaurant overall and would definitely come back.“

The portion of beef is very generous, to the point where there was actually more beef than onions and peppers, which I definitely appreciated. It’s also different from the usual dishes covered in thick black pepper sauce. Here, the pepper flavor comes through much more naturally, mixed with the savory beef, onions, and green peppers. Everything tastes freshly stir-fried and flavorful without being overly heavy.“

“Came here for a late-night dinner and love that they’re open 24 hours! It’s so convenient when you’re looking for food at odd hours.

We ordered the pickled cabbage fish noodles, naengmyeon, chicken cartilage skewers, and house special pork steamed buns. We also got a free sausage through the Fantuan app, which was a nice bonus!

My favourite was definitely the chicken cartilage skewers! They also offer complimentary rice, pickled vegetables, beef soup, and drinks, which is a great plus.

Overall, a satisfying late-night meal with plenty of options. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!“

“If there’s one thing I can say for sure, it’s this: Don’t order the fried pork chop.


Zero unpleasant smell whatsoever, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addictive once you start eating. You can appreciate the sauce’s gentle sweetness... The veggies and egg that come with it are also nicely seasoned, not overly salty at all.
They’ve raised their prices, but considering the quality, portion size, and location, I still think it’s very reasonably priced.

This was genuinely bad. There was barely any meat inside, I felt almost scammed. It felt like someone deep-fried a piece of cardboard and tried to disguise it with seasoning. Definitely NOT something I would recommend.“

“We stopped by Congee Wong a few days ago while we were out sightseeing downtown and ended up having a really nice lunch. My husband got the roast duck congee and couldn't stop talking about how rich the broth was, while I loved the beef brisket noodles. The staff were friendly and patient with us even though we asked a lot of questions about the menu, and the place had a cozy, no-fuss atmosphere that made us want to linger. “This restaurant serves really really good Cantonese food. It is easy to miss because it is tucked in on a stretch of Finch Avenue East between Leslie Street and Bayview Avenue. The restaurant itself is on the left hand corner, looks small from the outside, and may not look like anything special. You do not go there for the ambience or the decor. If you are looking for white glove table side service, this is also not the place.

What I will say though is the staff are very attentive, efficient, quick, and helpful. They follow East Asian standards in terms of service as opposed to North American cultural norms. They have an English menu and they also have menu items on the wall in Chinese. What I would suggest is you ask for recommendations, and the staff would be more than happy to provide suggestions.

This place is frequented by many regular locals who know that it serves incredible dishes at a very reasonable price. The food is piping hot. Vegetables are incredibly fresh. Seafood is amazing and the portions are generous. It is traditional Chinese food served in an authentic environment, and you simply cannot go wrong. They serve a wide selection of choices, so I would definitely give it a try and highly recommend the place.“

“Nothing but great things to say. If you want some hot spicy soup on a cold day? This is the spot. Most places have semi-spicy soup, but if you want a challenge, this is your spot. The braised chicken is beautiful tender and flavourful. With the price, they do not cheap out on the serving size. “We decided to give this restaurant a try because it always looks busy, and what a fun place it is to visit. It is right on Yonge Street, so it is very convenient, and there is street parking and parking on the side and back.

After we were seated, the wait staff explained to us how things work. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Basically, we were given these large bowls and we had to go up to where all the food items are kept and choose any items that we wanted. At a restaurant like this, the ingredients need to look and be fresh for it to be appetising. And it certainly was, everything was very fresh and crisp. There was so much variety with a lot of different kinds of meats, seafoods, tofus, vegetables, and noodles. We had fun picking and choosing what we wanted to eat.
We took our food up to the counter where they weighed each of the bowls, charged us, and we got to choose our soup. They had soup with no spice, just a plain soup, and they had the spicy soups from mild spice all the way up. We went back to our seats and waited for our food to be cooked and brought to us.

Oh my goodness, what a feast. Everything was cooked quickly and was piping hot. It was delicious and rich based on the ingredients we chose. We had never tried malatang before, so we were keen to experience some numbing spiciness for the first time. We chose the mild spicy soup. We enjoyed our food as we dabbed the sweat off our foreheads from the spiciness.

We had leftovers, which we took home, and we were able to make a second meal by adding more veggies and meat to the soup. So we ended up getting two meals in one.

It was a very enjoyable experience, and everything was very reasonably priced.“

“Took my dog for a walk around the neighborhood a few days ago and stopped in here since they let us sit on the little patio out front with him. The staff brought out a water bowl without even being asked, which honestly won me over before the food did. “This is probably one of my favorite clay pot rice places. I was initially unhappy with the takeout but dining in is definitely a whole other experience. I came at around 6 and it wasn’t as full then but not long after, more people started showing up and this place fills up fast. I got the chicken and preserved meat with double meat and I promise, getting double meat is well worth it. It’s so deeply savory and filling and I was easily able to have leftovers for the following day. The crispy rice adds such great texture and the chicken is unbelievably tender. Will happily go back and get the eel rice again with double meat this time.“

I didn’t think “medium” spicy was very spicy.

“Been here tons of times but just getting around to a review. On my most recent visit I had the Pho Dac Biet and really enjoyed it! The broth was flavourful and the portion was generous (L size) and tasted very fresh. Definitely a good spot if you’re craving a bowl of pho.
