“Food is mid, 3/5. There are better noodles in the area but this is not bad for the price. We tried the dry noodles and braised beef noodles with soup as well as a few cold dishes.

Service is excellent though - very quick and they gave me a hair tie, bib and basket for my jacket and bag.“

“Nice little place for breakfast for a lighter lunch/ dinner, or afternoon tea. The SangJi bao is very good, lots of soup with a light bao skin, the meat filling is nice and light and overall fitting to the Shanghainese taste buds (you know it's good when the soup inside burns the roof of your mouth).

The Shanghainese schnitzel is a very interesting dish with a generous sized pork chop and a long slice of rice cake, fried to perfection with a crispy outter coat and a soft, mochi inner. Definitely something to try if you are being adventurous.

The wontons are quite nice as well, I got the peanut butter sauce one but it did have a bit of extra spicy spices in there as well which is different from the traditional Shanghainese version but still overall a welcomed modification, it gives the dish a bit of a kick.

The soy milk seems to be made in house as well based on the condensation at the bottom but not entirely sure about that, it was quite nice though.

Overall I would give a glowing recommendation to this establishment if you want to try something different from the usual Canto or HK fusion style!“

“Honestly wasn’t expecting much when coming in. They seated us in the section that had majority tablets; Genius idea. The service was fast and efficient. Everything you need is right there at the table or can be answered by the tablet. The table has compartments where you can find utensils, napkins, etc. The food was reasonably priced, generous portions, and tasted good. If there’s anything you need you can look to the tablet to help you. There’s an option to call a server and has options for your inquiry.

“Not normally a fan of Northern Chinese food that usually have a lot of offals, but I saw they had a pork knuckle meal that is only $11.99 and I do love me some pork knuckle.

Holy value for money, you get a ton of food for that $12. Pork knuckle, cabbage, pickled mustard greens, tofu, rice and half a tea egg. All for $12. The rice was made really well too (not mushy).

The wife wanted to try the half/half meal which had half knuckle and half intestines ($12.99). I tried a piece and it only confirmed to me that I do not like intestines 😂. The pork knuckle can be a bit heavy as some people have noted. But at these prices how can you go wrong.

We were able to order online ahead and paid when we picked up. Will definitely order from here again the next time we're looking for some cheap eats!“

“I recently visited Wuhan Noodles 1950 and had a great dining experience. The Hot Dry Noodles (Re Gan Mian) may not taste exactly the same as the authentic version in Wuhan, but they are still very flavorful, rich, and satisfying. The portion size is generous, making it a filling meal.

I also tried the Beef and Radish Rice Noodles, which came with a large amount of tender beef and a hearty serving of noodles. The broth was rich and comforting, and the overall portion was excellent value for money.

One of the highlights was their chili oil. It was incredibly fragrant, packed with flavor, and blended perfectly with the noodles. It added just the right amount of heat and depth to the dishes.

“We stopped by Congee Wong on a Sunday morning after wandering around downtown and it turned out to be the perfect breakfast spot for two retirees who like to sightsee first and eat second. The century egg and pork congee arrived steaming hot with just the right silky texture, and my husband still talks about the fried dough sticks he dunked in his bowl. The staff were patient with us since we asked a lot of questions about the menu, and they even recommended a few local spots to walk off the meal afterward. “This is probably one of my favorite clay pot rice places. I was initially unhappy with the takeout but dining in is definitely a whole other experience. I came at around 6 and it wasn’t as full then but not long after, more people started showing up and this place fills up fast. I got the chicken and preserved meat with double meat and I promise, getting double meat is well worth it. It’s so deeply savory and filling and I was easily able to have leftovers for the following day. The crispy rice adds such great texture and the chicken is unbelievably tender. Will happily go back and get the eel rice again with double meat this time.“

“Pretty good. I haven’t had 热干面 (sesame lover / hot and dry noodle) made for me since I was in Wuhan 8 years ago.

Volume isn’t terrible, although I would expect more meat for the degree of upcharge. They put the sauce in the bottom of the container, so make sure to mix it really well, lest you think your noodles are poorly flavored.

I didn’t think “medium” spicy was very spicy.
